I felt it was kind of embarassing to have over 3000 posts on a Code: Lyoko fansite, with tons of Games threads, yet no CL Discussion threads. So I went ahead and made one!

Odd's visions. I personally only know of 2 episodes where they occurred (Teddygozilla and Cruel Dilemma), but they're still interesting. Where do you think they come from? Why do they both occur somebody falling? And... could it be Franz Hopper interfering with his thoughts in Lyoko? O_O

He did, however, use his "Precognition" power in "Laughing Fit" to help Aelita find the exit of the maze. This is pretty much the only exception to the rule that his "Precognition" only shows things that "will" happen, regardless of what is done to prevent it, as well as that it only shows people involved in the events (Aelita is nowhere to be seen in his Maze vision, nor is it even a possible POV shot).

I kind of miss that power really.

Hmm, TB3 had an idea on how those worked, as I recall. Like, since the computer is constantly executing calculations it has a kind of probablility effect and Odd's visions were merely events that it found "likely." Or somthing to that effect.

Now what I want to know is why they just like DISAPPEARED in Saison Deux. Odd's shield thing was kinda useless. xD;

No it's not, it's just.. not used much... I dunno why he doesn't recognize the power of his shield. And maybe they figured that the precognition was a spoiler, in a way, because they happen no matter what. And people hate spoilers. D:

Yeah...but that doesn't stop us from using his visions in fanfics! (though I guess thst's totally irrelevant). There was also an episode where he used his foresight to find Aelita when she was trapped in the Guardian. 'The Girl Of The Dreams', I think it was called. Does anyone know why his shield only covers his top half? Not very efficient since his enemies could just shoot him in the knees and be done with it...

Fanfictions are totally irrevelant, but we'll ignore them for now.

I think that his shield is meant as kind of like a mideval shield, not so much as something you'd see in a comic book with the spherical shield. Also, his shield allows for a wider range of movement.

True. I guess if his shield covered his whole body, he'd never get hit and that would make the fight scenes a little more predictable. And boring. If he stopped getting visions in season 2, does that mean that he'll get a new power ijn season 3 then?

I don't think so, since I've seen shots from season three that show him using his shield.

i think the sheild is really useless. i mean it will block him from attacks but he has cat like reflexes right? so cant he just dodge the attacks?

Hey, shoot enough times, and probability dictates that one of them's gonna hit. Also, in that episode where he was on an iceberg and he was trying to hold off a tarantula, he couldn't dodge.


Plus, it just looks freaking awesome.

There's also a theory that Odd can subconciously access the 'thoughts' of the supercalculator, and see what's going to happen. *pokes theory*

There's a Duel Monsters card called "Life-Force", which allows you to pay 400LP in order to reduce the LP damage from one attack to 0. An all-over sheild on Lyoko could work in a similar fashion: Use maybe 5LP to create a sheild that can block any one attack (in effect, a seperate program which takes the damage in place of the avatar)

This may sound like a dumb idea, but I think the visions may have been Franz trying to help out.

His shield was a little useless in season 2. I mean in "Ultimatum" when he was charging at a tarantula on his hoverboard the tarantula was firing its lasers toward Odd and Odd activated his shield to deflect it. One of the lasers hit his leg which caused Odd to lose balance just a bit, deactivating his shield and gave way for the other lasers to hit him and drain his remaining life point. If Odd just knelt when he activated his sheld he would have survived the lasers shot toward him.

Seriously, Yumi made better use of his shield. When she was in Odd's body in "A Fine Mess" she activated it in combat with a creeper while she was defending Aelita.

As for the visions... umm, they were pretty useless except for in "Laughing Fit" while he was guiding Aelita through the maze.
