My Spelling.... Difficultys.....

Somthing I thought that you should all know...

My spelling sucks. I try to make up for this by using good punctuation and a spell check, but I still cannot spell corectly a lot of the time because a lot of words look simaler, their for when I spell check, I cannot deterimine the difrence between the difrent spelling options. On a spell check, "were" and "where" are identical to me, and I have a 50/50 chance of selecting the corect one. Also, I cannot deturmine if a word is spelled wrong by looking at it most of the time.

I hate it when I am flamed for my poor spelling. I practece my spelling frequently, to no avail.

So please, forgive me if my spelling is horrific.

Awww, don't worry. Everyone has a difficulty in something. If people are flaming you because its hard for you to spell correctly, then thats just plain mean of them.

No. You're beyond third-grade level. You get almost every word right. You'll be fine if you just practice grammar, punctuation, and such.

I haven't a clue what grade level I spell at, but according to reports I get, I'm assuming it'd be pretty high. -.-

Anything you see me spell wrong is a typo, usually. But the word 'occasionally' is evil. .... is that right?

Just try your best, or even practice a bit. That's all it takes. Then you'll become a grammar nazi in no time! d8D

Guys or girls, we all have problems..whether is spelling..or emoness..or whatever...spelling can be fixed...it might be a good idea to maybe look words up before you type them..but otherwise, I understand what the person is trying to say...I dont care about others spelling much..I concentrate on the general message.

I couldn't have said it better myself. The only thing that bugs me is bad writing on paper. x.x My 9 year old brother writes horrible. (Because he wants to get his homework done quick so he can go play Video Games) When he takes time though, his writing gets really good.

Well..I try to help my friends whenever I can..however I can...I may point out an error once in a while..but its only to help..not to criticize. I dont do it often, as that can lead to bad feelings and whatever.

*off topicness note* Sakura..if your brother is having trouble with his spelling and writing..then maybe you could sorta sit with him, show him how to take his time to do the work. Let him know that school is very important..and that his writing skillz and good homework skills will help him out much more than the video games will...just a thought.

I do help him, but he doesn't really listen to me. I don't get any respect from him. If I tell him that school is more important than Video Games, he'll just say, "Video Games teach you hand-eye coordination." x_X

Two of us (Lyoko Soilder and myself) have actual disbiletys, Dislexia (I think) and the incapebilety to recognise when a word is spelled wrong. As far as I know, Lucy has exelent spelling. I think that this rule Is more to be enfoced in spirt, not to the letter. It was origanaly created to stop the Idiots who would attempt to use.... "Cht spk"(?) and "Txt msg"(?) as an exuse for actual languge.

I wouldn't do anything like that to you guys. Don't worry about the problem you have. It's natural, I mean, everyone has problems, you happen to have spelling difficultys, but a lot of people can have the same or different things. There is no way you should get punished or criticised in any way. (unless you purposely misspell the word. Thta's just messed up)

Aw...well I mess up on words to. I'm HORRIBLE at writing. (See? I couldn't even spell that word...I think) I mean writing on a piece of papaer. I spell correctly. It's just that I can't write neatly.

Whatever the case is, your our family and you should practice. (And if you don't want to get banned, PM Star Way, and tell her. I'm sure she'll understand.)

Besides, one day you might be surprised. You'll be the best speller than any of us.

My friend has the same problem. What he does is type whatever he plans to have written out into MS Word and let spell check correct for him.

Well, the isue has started to come up again.

What alot of people don't seem to realise is, I am not kidding about this, that inorder to bring my spelling up to the levle it should be, I would have to undergo brain surgery. Yes, you heard (read, I hate the limmeted uses of langege context.)me right. My brain is wired in a way which makes it next to imposible for me to learn spelling at the normal rate. I also cannot spell phoneticly, because "Th" does not translate directly into the sound, but rather Th>The>(Pernonceation).

Edit: When I was at the psycologests (Yes fokes, I do have Asbuger's[defenitly spelled it wrong], and I was getting my diegnoses) they made me take a test. All I had to do was listen to a string of sounds ("Th"....."A" ect.) and figure out what the words where. I faild. 3/27 corect. I've been trying to find a way around my spelling isues for years, but NONE of the traditional methods seem to work for me. Help?
