Did Yumi set up Ulrich?

I the first show of seaqson 3 Yumi told Ulrich that they would be just friends but the first thing that poped into my mind was this is the perfect time for Ulrich to tell Yumi how he feels about her. I think she did that hopeing Ulrich would say how much she means to him and would be like I can't live without you or something like that, is it just me or did anyone else think that too?

But I really don't think Yumi would do that....I think she said that they were together....then they werent...then they were....ect. so I think she wanted to rest everything and get things cleared out.

I was very shocked when I saw this. Personally, I think that this will making Ulrich try harder for 2nd base....

But I'm hoping for a development of the relationship by the end of the season. If not, I’ll be a bit disappointed.

I dont think she set him up...but she was suprised by his OK Fine answer..I am sure she wanted him to reaffirm his feelings...it shocked her when he didnt..but I guess he was just so upset by the bomb she dropped on him..he missed the cue..haha.

When I first saw this episode, I thought that we'd have to wait until the end of the episode to find out what Yumi had to say, because they'd keep getting intterupted somehow.

But maybe Yumi was trying to set Ulrich up, so they could fully disscuss their relationship. Maybe she wanted Ulrich to object and tell her his true feelings or something.

Or he's respecting what he thinks her wishes are.

Ulrich's not the kind of guy to want to push Yumi into something he senses she doesn't want or isn't ready for. Knowing Ulrich, he's taken what Yumi's said at face value (more or less), and rather than risk their friendship by pushing the issue and possibly hurting Yumi's feelings or making her mad (again, still in thinking that she'd prefer to be friends), he hasn't said anything much else towards it.

I don't think Yumi's happy to be "just friends", either though. She doesn't look Ulrich in the eye directly during that whole exchange at all...which isn't like her, because she's almost always straightforward in her conversations, except when she's upset or unsure.

You make a good point but Ulrick could have said something like i'll alway care for you or something like that to let her know that he still cares. On the last show when they were fighting the food guy they had a moment so I know its not over but at the same time I think Yumi is unsure and need Ulrick to show just how he feels in a big way, she will come around and she will always like him.
