I think William will secretly virtualize himself into Lyoko and will have a very creepy scary/awesome appearance with pure black eyes and is the one who has dark powers on Lyoko. His name would be William Shadow and he would also have the ability to create black holes and send Xana's monsters inside of them!

If he were a minion of XANA, why would he defuse the detonator? Sure, I didn't think those bombs were positioned to hurt the supercomputer, but he would have taken out two-thirds of Aelita's bodyguard right there if he had "messed up."

Anyway, I think the point is that William is, first off, stupid ("Yumi! XANA's attacking!"). Second, the group has been burned in the past before when somebody let their love of one of the group's members lead them to break their sworn silence. Third, William may get on Ulrich for being jealous, but he certainly made it clear that he had capacity for enough jealosy himself.

It seems strange to me how everyone's opinion changed about William. It seemed Yumi was the only one who liked him. By the end of "The Secret", Yumi was the only person who had something against him.

When I look at William, all I see is a character whoose main purpose is to disrupt the relationship between Ulrich and Yumi, nothing more, nothing less. But I will admit, his almost becoming a Lyoko warrior even surprised me.

Well, he did save all of their lives. I would doubt after that that they would just launch a RTTP without even giving it a second thought. Disarming the bombs was very impressive and he also has a very outgoing and powerful attitude which would benefit the team in many ways. Although, I guess he overdid it with Yumi to a point where she can't stand him anymore.

Alot of the time Yumi would just use him to get Ulrich jealous. As in the episode "Saint Valentine's Day". I guess William didn't catch on and actually thought she liked him.

But if you recall, In the first episode of season 2, when Yumi and William first met Yumi blushes when she talks to William.

So, she must have had an attraction to him during season 2 which seems to have died off at the beggining of season 3.

I think it's a possibility that William's involved with XANA, but I doubt it. He's not flashy enough, and he's had enough "alone time" with Yumi to have hurt her by now.

I wouldn't put it past them to have him possessed, though. Mostly, I think he's just an annoyance. I'm sorry, William, but you're just too cheesy!

It'd be cool to have a new Lyoko Warrior, though.

I don't think William has anything to do with Xana. If he did, he would have already done something against the group. Actually, he has helped them at least in 3 occasions, and I don't think Xana would ruin so many of his own plans on purpose. Besides, in the last episode, he needed to follow Odd and Ulrich through the sewer to find the factory. If he were a minion of Xana he wouldn't need to. And it's not like he was just pretending to follow them since you could see that he was doing his best to not lose sight of them, and he was surprised when they finally arrived at the factory (and since nobody was looking at him why would he need to just pretend being surprised?).

Well, you do love Yumi, right? We can't have William taking "your" Ulrich's spotlight! And why should we like William, anywho? If you ask me, he's pne of the biggest showoffs I've ever seen.

XANA lacks the subtlety to make a character like William. XANA is definitely more the 'big hammer' than the 'get a guy to gain your trust and then get knifed in the back' type. Plus there would have been an activated tower etc. Nah, William is his own man for that and the reasons above in this topic.

I'm still wondering on the nature of not trusting him myself though. He's proven more ally than enemy in the past. Even Ulrich was impressed into thinking so.

Interesting thing to remember, William has never been a posession victim yet. I wonder if this has any relevence at all.
