Foreshadowing... o.O

When I look at William, all I see is a character whoose main purpose is to disrupt the relationship between Ulrich and Yumi, nothing more, nothing less. But I will admit, his almost becoming a Lyoko warrior even surprised me.

Maybe he will end up a member of the team, while secretly working for XANA, and betraying them in the end. a little like Teen Titans, with the whole Terra arc, the only difference William isn' t quite as insecure

XANA lacks the subtlety to make a character like William. XANA is definitely more the 'big hammer' than the 'get a guy to gain your trust and then get knifed in the back' type. Plus there would have been an activated tower etc. Nah, William is his own man for that and the reasons above in this topic.

Hmmm...XANA's learned quite a bit though. "XANA's Kiss" was a decently subtle attack, so it's not like XANA doesn't have any skills in subtelty...he's sent clones/minions/polymorphs before to mess with the group. And William makes for a rather suspicious case.

Interesting thing to remember, William has never been a posession victim yet. I wonder if this has any relevence at all.

However, he was turned into a "Xombie" in "Attack of the Zombies". Although this could be argued so as to eliminate suspicion. ^^

I'm more inclined to think that William is just a creep out of his own nature. From "New Order", we are told two things about him straight off.

1) He was kicked out of his old school.

2) He was kicked out of aforesaid school for posting letters all over the place...love letters (he argues).

Now...is it just me, or does posting love letters around sound like a terribly odd reason to get kicked out of school? Worth a suspension yes, but an expelling? Hmmmm....

My thinking is that either he's fibbing about the love letter thing entirely, or he's actually telling the truth (somewhat) and they were love letters, but not the kinds of ones any girl would want to receive. (*coughStalkercough*) And that's why he was expelled.

Considering certain things he's said and done to Yumi...it's decently plausible a theory, I'd say.

Yeah, doesn't anyone else find it suspicious that William shows up about the same time that Aelita starts living in the real world full-time? Not to mention he always wears red and black, colors that are almost universally attributed to XANA.

You know, that's very interesting, the fact that he "remembers" the previous event quite possibly lends credit to the minion of XANA idea. You know, if that turned out the be the case, and they've been planning it for a long time, it would totally shock me anyway, despite reading the idea. It's something a clever theorist or a fanfic writer trying to besmirch William's name could come up with, but not something I'd have registered as ever happening in canon, esepcially after all the help he's been now.

I still think it's more likely he's just joining the gang, but it's fun to have alternate theories.

I really doubt William is a Xana's minion. And I hope he doesn't turn out to be one... that would be very cliché (having an ally revealed to be an enemy).

You know, if that turned out the be the case, and they've been planning it for a long time, it would totally shock me anyway, despite reading the idea. It's something a clever theorist or a fanfic writer trying to besmirch William's name could come up with, but not something I'd have registered as ever happening in canon, esepcially after all the help he's been now.

Well, I'm just looking at it this way...the team really hasn't experienced anyone "close" to the gang betraying them (Sissi in "XANA Awakens" doesn't quite count since they were all still newly friends).

This would be the biggest plot twist ever!!! X) Seriously...not only would it hurt Yumi especially (and seriously peeve off Ulrich), but Odd would feel betrayed and so would Jeremie and Aelita, because they trusted him to.

Heh...I admittedly may be a little biased about this...but it would make for one heck of an episode, especially with one with such a dramatic title as "Final Round". o.o

I spent about 5 minutes after watching this episode trying to figure out if there was anyway William Dunbar's name was an anagram for something XANA-related. X) Seriously...pulling a "Tom Riddle" would be...amazing.

William might become a host for XANA latter, but it's unlikly.

I also feel very creeped out.... I was thinking XANA might use William as a host for sence near his introduction in S2.

Good theory, but "Sabotage" occured after "The Secret". The Super Computer wasn't damaged when they did the RTTP that wiped William's memory.

Heh...I guess then, that his dreams were just that...unless of course XANA did something to help him remember because he wanted a pawn. But there's no way to prove that, so I'll just go with, "He really doesn't forget anything". ^^;
