9 seasons? Now that's really beating a dead horse.

I'll settle for 5 but that's it. Besides...when CodeLyoko dies so does this forum...

5 seasons is enough for me. Maybe 5 seasons and 2 movies (we already got one--the prequel, though that is also considered a 2-Part Episode of Season 2). I don't think they need any more than five. Two more seasons would be enough to tie up lose ends, then they can make a stunning Series Finale in the form of a movie that features the end of XANA.

If they decide to end it at 5 Seasons, though, that's fine by me--as long as the fourth season has hardly any filler episodes. If it does have filler episodes, then they could easily finish the series with one more season. However, more than 5 Seasons is pushing it.

Four is enough for me. They could easily finish out the plots...unless it gets REALLY good and we need a fifth.

So that's my answer in a sentence. Four's my preferred bet, five if it's needed. After the fourth season, shows tend to go SCHLOOP. (Cases in point- Teen Titans, Fairly Oddparents, Teen Titans...)

I would say six seasons, it just sounds right. ;)

And... 97 episodes is a lot? No, not really...

CL just started its merchandise campaign and it has shown that CL has become a very popular show and is getting great ratings. Moonscoop may very well push CL into more seasons just so it doesn't end off at its peak profit/ratings-wise. Whether or not they make the extra seasons/episodes good and worth watching is another ballgame altogether.

But this is just me. Resident analyst by nature. Just pointing out what I see.

Great point. we cannot forget that money is money. Therein lies the problem, in order to keep a show going you either have to add crap or stretch it thin. CL is one of the fastest-paced shows that I know (Case-in-point: "Final Round"), and it works that way. If Moonscoop stretches it out, it looks like with the ratings it has it could go on for a couple of more seasons.

This is not optimal in my view. *Starts listening to "Money" by Led Zeppelin.*

No offense. Bad idea.

Any series-ending movies that I have seen are always flying and later falling poo. CL should end with a three part final episode, or an hour-long episode. No movie, please.

Yes... Yes it is.

Because in my opinion and in all honesty, almost every show I've seen that went over 100 episodes quickly lost its charm after that... 100+ is just too much, really, and believe it or not, it does have to end eventually. Nothing lasts forever, frankly, especially shows with a good, solid plot. Once the plot's been resolved, sure, some aftermath would be good, but don't drag it out and add sequel after sequel... it'll just get kinda old and lose its charm.

Sorry if I sound like a poo.

5 or 6 seasons would be enough for me.

And the "all shows pass their peak" thing isn't always true. There's a show that has gone for years, passing over 400 episodes (and they are still running) with 10 movies and an 11th one coming next year (yay!). All the while not losing its popularity.

But still, as long as Moonscoop keeps on coming up with good ideas for episodes, they should go on for as long as they can. Though they shouldn't keep on using filler episodes (even if they're still fun to watch, there are still too many) and cliff-hangers after every season just to keep the show going, that to me, is going too far.

I put six... It's the right number of seasons for any cartoon like this, really.

Teen Titans should have had six but Cartoon Network is stupid...

Too true. Doctor Who has been going since what, the 1970s? or was it the 1960s?

Sure, there are shows that go well over 400 or whatever, but seriously, did they have a solid plot that needs resolving like CL? We can't have the CL gang fighting XANA forever; sooner or later XANA's gonna blow up the world. Then once the take care of XANA, then what? I doubt they'll just decide, "oh, okay, let's release him again SO WE CAN RISK OUR LIVES AGAIN HURR HURR HURR AND POSSIBLY ENDANGER OUR CHILDREN" or something.

If CL does go beyond S4, there's a slim chance I'll watch it.

There's always the possibilty that bringing the internet into the show will also intro a new villian.

THERE ARE ALREADY TOO MANY D*MN VILLANS, ETC.!!!

Stop introducing new people, places until you answer some questions that we have had for 2+ seasons! If we keep introducing new characters, this show will go on forever. There will have to be so much filling that no one would be interested anymore.

If they keep raising questions, I will be half sad knowing that the show went bad and I never got to see a good ending and half happy that I will be no longer obliged to watch it.

But I want to watch it!

As much as I want Code Lyoko to go on and on and on... I know it has to end eventually. Darnit.

Following that, four seasons seems like a pretty good number to me, maybe a fifth season if Moonscope feels they can pull it off. CL has had a good run, but I don't want it to get ruined because the writers have lost their inspiration.

All good shows have to end eventually, sadly. But at least the ride was fun. :D

Good point. But you left out the "ETC."

There are too many ETC's.

They need to start solving more problems than they create.

I think the show could at least have two more seasons. If not, then Season 4 needs to be the best. ...AND the LONGEST.
