I was just forced to watch "Barbie and the 12 dancing Princesses." And my eyes are SHOT....*shoots TV* OH MY GOD.

EDIT: Wait a minute...anybody notice those two pole like things sticking up from Ulrich's back in the pictuer a page before this? It might be two swords...Yumi still has fans as what it looks like. And...Odd....I have no clue what the heck that is. And as for Aelita...it's...AWESOME. :3

Anyway, it does slightly. I see no difference in Aelita. (Except for the fact that she's smiling idioticly...) I see something older slightly in Ulrich and Odd. Yumi....a lot more than all of them combined.

Yeah overall it makes them look a little older and a little more slick too (except for Odd. But you know, he's Odd.)

I really like how those 2d drawings of the new 3d forms look, It looks like they were just starting to develop the 3d models based on the amount of grey, and frankly unchanged things from the old ones, but I have a feeling it'll be done soon enough. As for the reason given for the change, fighting on the internet could be one, another could be the fact that any Lyoko would have to be a rebuilding, giveing them the chance to generate new profiles for themselves upon being scanned. Really we don't have enough info to even theorize roughly, oh well.

I think that may just be what the 2D artist's interpretation has done. If you look at the basic 3D CGI models of them above, they look the same age, more or less.

If anything (and if it is indicative of something), Ulrich just looks a little taller (as opposed to older), which would make sense in a way, since at age 13/14, boys usually have a growth spurt and become taller than the girls (same case can be applied to Odd, who is considerably short for his age even in comparison to Jeremie and Ulrich).

I'm really curious about Ulrich's eye...it looks weird. ew.

That's a targeting device...I'm almost positive (as opposed to an eye patch or something). I've seen similar designs in other anime (I think some can be seen in the Gundam series) and that's what they tend to be. Considering he depends on deadly accuracy, a virtual targeting device would only help him pinpoint his attacks better, making him a more effective fighter (not that he isn't effective already...just more so ^^ ).


In any case though, wow! These are something else! They all look very stream-lined in terms of design...which makes sense since the Internet is a fast and furious place and you'd want to be as mobile as possible. The outfits also seem somewhat reminiscent of Tron. ^^

At any rate though, these are spiffy! Odd's got kitty ears!!! *tweaks them (a la InuYasha)*

And Ulrich'll dual-wield now...yesssss!!!

Aelita's is so cute...and I like Yumi's a lot too (for one thing...it'll be a heck of a lot easier to draw ^^).

I'll miss their old forms though...ah, but these might be their Internet forms, whereas if and when Lyoko is recreated...they'll regain their old forms. Who knows though? ^.^

I hope to high heavens though that we get some people doing full cosplay groups with these...they're awesome!

Prehaps if they're plaing on XANA's home turf after being vurtilised onto the internet, XANA may have some efect on their appernces.


.... Or, extrodenarly unlikly, they become XANA minions. I doubt that this sort of relations ship between XANA and the gang would develop beond what we saw in "Marabuta."

I just compared Yumi and Ulrich and Ulrich is taller but if it wasn't for Yumi bending I could compare MUCH better. So it looks like they're still the same height. (And it looks like Odd is slightly smaller than Ulrich...)
