What am I Doing Wrong?

Postby Reesane » Sun Oct 29, 2006 9:17 pm

Why does it seem that When I post on a busy, helthy thread it inixplicbly dies? Is it the way I write my post? Do I do somthing that offends everr one? Or is it just that, by the time I feal like posting, the tread is alredy dieing? I feal like I ruin the discusion by posting somtimes. What am I doing wrong?

I think I can pretty safely say it's not you. It happens to me too, and I'm pretty sure it's happened to others, too. I know it happens to me, not just on boards, but also in chats and IMs. I don't think it's the quality of the post, or what it contains, it's just one of those things that..happens. I guess it's because of the wildly fluctuating interest you can find in a public place such as this. Or it could be something that isn't occurring to me because I'm pretty wiped out right now. Whatever it is, don't let it get you down; there's always someone out there to reply to every post, and the thread will probably be picked up again at some point in time.

Even a spambot could work well for that, lol.

Anyways, I'll agree with CBIzumi as well.

Sometimes, it depends on what you're talking about... people might not know anything about it or they just don't care about it. Or sometimes your thread can get buried by other topics that people seem to find more interesting or exiciting to watch and post at.

I apologise for my part in sinking the caption contest, MakeYourself. I probbly shouldn't have attempted to host it, espeshaly with the spelling rule. I do, however, belive that the spelling rule is intemedating for people who are not in BKO, because alot of younger mebers don't think that their spelling is good enough to avoid having a negative score.

I don't mind the spelling rules, but if it's gone way overboard (as in practically almost every single spelling of the word is mispelled, especially if they're on purpose), it does get annoying personally. ^^;

As long as you don't mispell on purpose (especially those who like to write in sTiCkY cApS x.x....), doesn't bother me at all. ^^ I'm not part of BKO too although I'm *way* old enough to be in there (not that I'm on a rush to get in there so LOL ^^).

Its not you at all Reesane....I have posted threads that have done well..and others that havent..it just depends on the mood of the posters at the time, and if they know about what you are posting. Its a toss up sometimes. ;)

Yeah... you shouldn't really blame yourself for these things. It could be just that people get tired of posting in some areas, but it doesn't neccessarily mean that you were the one to ruin it.

No! Are you joking! That would be agains the laws of logistics!

Trust me, we all seem to think that, I always think I kill off threads. But you can't really kill off a thread. You can poke it, or you can always delete a post and then re-post it, and tadaa! It's back to life.
