A living pet peeve?

Postby Darkborn » Sat Nov 18, 2006 7:22 pm

Ok First off I have this problem solved, but I want to know what could I do if this comes up again

I have this friend who is...not so bright. You know, that kind that you seem to assume that they might have a mental problem? Well, he really got on my nerves for acting more idiotic then he used to. Like he overexceded his limit on being stupid, and reached the level of Dumb F***. I told him to stop acting like this. He said that he would do it, but it seems at though he forgets and acts up again. I started to ignore him and he kept on screaming "I'm sorry".

Now one would assume that it's "I'm sorry" and it's done. It's not the case for me. It aggrivates me when he says that. He knows this too well. Since I've known this kid for a while, everytime he says something and I don't reply fast enough he says "I'm sorry", and he says it A LOT.

Back on the case. Since I was ignoring him with his "Sorries" he finally came to his senses. He said "Can I talk to you". I said "You got 5 minutes". We talked about how things can change so we can be better friends again. I came to the conclusion that he must clean up his act, or this is not going to get settled, and that he was not going to talk to me unless I agree that he had actually changed. He naturally agreed, and that was it.

Now here is what is bothering me:
What if he does change and later down the road this whole scenario starts up again, what should I do?

Well he might have some kind of illness of my Grandma. He might forget events or just simply ignore them. If he starts again you should just see what he acts like when you ignore him. And I mean REALLY act like he's not even there. And if those "I'm sorrys" start again. Talk to him. And I mean TALK TO HIM. Not just a "Hi your forgetting again, stop acting up".

My bad advice. But lets see what the SMART ones can give ya. ^^;
Currently, you will not see me in Forums any longer. I will be on chat though. ^.~

Unfortunaltely, There are several people like this. the problem is just being unaware, or immature. Sometimes the two factores cancel each other out, but sometimes they just aggrivae another.

First off, The kid doesn't have a mental problem. It's that he's just too immature for his age. He's 13 and acts like he's 6.

He constantly asks for attention and bugs the hell out of me when he does. He's still acting a bit like it. But I gave a good talking to him lol. He should clear up in about 2 days or so.

Well, Problem solved. He shaped up for the most part. He's just immature, that was it.

Could I issue a lock on this topic?

There's someone in my class like that. His name is Christian. One time, I lent him a CD, and he came back with it (I was amazed by this), tells me that he liked the song 'Cosmos' and gives it back to me. Then I took it home and opened it and the cover on the case was hanging off!

^^ It would be helpful if you'd note a Mod as well when you'd like a topic locked as that way it's easier for us to know. We can't always check every post of every thread (or at least not all in the same go) so a note is the quickest and most efficient way to let us know that you'd like a topic locked early. ;)

In any case though, I'll lock this for you. :)
