Right to start .I want to fight for a world without danger but the problem is .I been aiming for the royal navy ,But is it the right way.I got a girlfriend who I would never leave behind .I worrried something going to happen when I'm away on a deployment for 2 months I been told ;__; .It's the same with all three.I got a feelin I'm going to lose her.To tell you how much I love her. I fight for her.Anything.Even if I lose my life .She means soo much to me .Yumi .That how much .I been in the sea cadets for 2 years almost and have start to enjoy it .My aim is toi be a chef but the way it's going I not going to see alot of her and friends as it is a long shift .and on call 24/7

Should I rethink about the armed forces and finish my dreamm as a fighter for a world without danger .Or F...k it and take the challenge and see what happens

Seems like you have a real tough decision here. So you enjoy the armed forces am I right? But, you love this girl a lot too. Well, think about it, if you would do anything for her, that mighgt involve making decisions you won't like. I don't really know, but I have a cousin that just went to the military and passed basic training. Unfortunately... he got mostly disconnected to family here, and lost his girlfriend... But just ignore that...

Um, so tell me. What does she think about it? Have you ever sat down to talk with ehr about this?

I would talk this through with her in much detail and try to find solution. I've never had someone to care about that way so I wouldn't know how hard it is to leave. I hope you work it out.

My thoughts would be to talk this over with her, and possibly your family and your senior officer - it helps to have other people's perspectives on things.

In the end though you have to do what you feel is right - I'm sure you'll make the right choice, whatever it may be :)

Well, it's nice to know that you can really trust ehr and open up to her like that. Just make sure, that if you do go, keep contact with ehr. Let her know how you feel all the time, and ask her how she's doing. I'm sure everything will work out for you. ;)

d***.....that is hard. i know how hard it is to leave someone that you love more than anything. ive been there. ive done that, and have been left also. my last relationship was the hardest. he left me because of some things he was going through, and i tried so hard to get him to stay, but then i had to let go. it hurt so bad though. still does when i think of it, and when i see what hes like now.

to be honest i would say dont leave her. its your choice but chances are that if you do, you may get to live your dreams, but then when you retire later on in life, or if it doesnt work out, your mind will go back to her, and you never know, she may have moved on. you may lose her for good if you leave now. thats the way it always seems to go. i know i had to make a choice recently.....i fell in love again even after my last relationship, but i was happy with my career and where it was taking me. but....i thought about it and i realized that if i ignored my feelings for him now and chose my career, i would always have my career, but i also would always be lonely. think about it......

do you want to have your career and be lonely and lose her.......or do you want to share a life of happiness and love and joy with her.....forever?

i chose love. im happier now than i have ever been. i know my career couldnt have done for me what he has.....

A world without danger… I'm afraid that that's impossible, Lyoko soldier. War exists to keep human population in balance. Without war and killing, there will be too many people that live on the world. The world would get overpopulated and everyone's life will suck due to lack of resources.

However, I admire your effort.

In war, a soldier ceases to exist as a human. A soldier's life is given away to defend the country. During war, a soldier is a fighting unit and nothing else. By enlisting in the Royal Forces, you are agreeing to die, to be in the risk of being killed by the enemy. All the familiar things in your life will be gone. Your perspective of the world will change.

You can stay with your girlfriend and live a happy, normal life. Or you can fight and throw everything away for your country. The latter is a heroic decision, the former a more cautious decision.

I can't really offer any more advice than that, Lyoko soldier. I hope that your decision is the correct one for you. :)

Accurate view, but cynical enough. Honestly, war in self-defense, for the United States, died out some time ago. War is not population control, merely the greedy efforts of higher powers. We're going to the Iraq not for population control, but for oil. If Iraqi government felt population control was needed, they could probably found out how to do it on their own, we don't need to make decisions for them.

As for the United States, our population is rather big, which indeed does suck our resources (hence why we're going to war with Iraq, for their oil), but going to war and killing innocent lives, on both sides, isn't the right idea in my eyes. If we were out in Iraq to defend ourselves, I can see that. Iraqis are defending themselves, not a lot we can do.

Doubting the merit that holds. I don't think Lyoko Soldier kills for the fun in it, he sounds smarter and more compassionate than that. I believe he's doing it, as he said, for a world without danger, which is a great goal, and ultimately what everyone wants. There are some people, though, who can take pleasure is taking the life of another.

Once you stop caring for the death of others is, I believe, the end of your humanity. Lyoko Soldier can decide for himself what he feels on killing people.

As for you Lyoko Soldier, my advice would be to talk with your girlfriend and come to a decision, as you already have. Whatever you choose is the best choice, and I'll support it. Knowing you, you'll do whatever you feel is the best choice, and for what reason(s) you're picking it for.

The world is already overpulated. And the growth will continue, with or without war.

Anyway, Lyoko soldier, best of luck with your decision.

Leaving a girlfriend behind in 2 months, eh? I say to make the best of the time you have with her; show her the time of her life.

My advice just follow your heart and do what you think is right. What Tom Bone said if you decide to go show her the time of her life before you go. I never had to deal with this because I am only 13 but I have a cousin in the navy (i think he is) and he had to leave for Iraq but I never see him because he lives in South Carolina. So I dont know what it feels like. If my boyfriend decides to do that I would tell him to go because if he dies he is dying for a cause.
