I was under the impression that XANA was making replica supercomputers elsewhere, he afterall needs a tower or similar translation system to launch physical attacks on the real world.

(edit: the notion being that these wouldn't actually be computers anybody else was using, they would be hidden similar to the orriginal supercalculator)

Yes indeedy - especially if you consider this:

Eventually, jumping in and out of secure facilities and destroying hardware, the team will come across OTHER HUMANS! We might just see an interaction between Lyoko and reality we never expected.

Also, imagine if the kids get caught on camera, complete with them showing off their powers and so on.

OH WOW! I CAN'T WAIT! (goes fanboy)

I forsee a Big RTTP before Season 4 is over

Possibly- Jerome told me however that XANA is living in 'several supercomputers' suggesting he couldn't build another Hopperian machine. Also, XANA's behviour seems to be a lot more 'viral', so the idea of him infecting external systems sounds damn cool. Also, how could XANA build that many machines?

Now, here's the list of the top 100 supercomputers in the world, as of November. Although I doubt the show will stick XANA in real machines, the list still shows a trend that sthe show seems to be mimicking.

Top 100

Of the Top 10 machines in this list, 7 are American. Of those, 5 are owned by government branches. Since we know XANA is attacking from America (according to 'Straight to Heart'), maybe he's made his home in the rings of power as it were.

My other note is that #7 on this list is the French Atomic Energy Commission, which LTT established as having possible ties to Project Carthage, due to the show's Nuclear Plant being decades ahead of contemporaries in design, and also producing fuel-rods compatible with the supercomputer's 1980s vintage battery.

Just some thoughts to keep people on their toes :)

Let's see...

It seems like a good idea, from XANA's perspective, to create replica SC's- I doubt any other computer in the world could match up in power, and there'd be no chance of MIT or whoever deciding to replace their OS and wipe the drives.

However, let's take a meta, plot-based view. What would be the point of adding "translation" if all they used it for was to break some random computer? No, I expect some sort of increased interaction with reality. Couple that with a lack of RTTPs if you really want an interesting plot. *Pictures 2d Odd fighting 2d Tarantula in... Tokyo! Make it a giant Tarantula for good measure. (that would not surprise me, actually)*

Also, with the lack of Towers, I would think Aelita is now a just another warrior... meaning the unspellable jellyfish should no longer need her in particular. We haven't seen the last of it, though... it will likely still show up to cause chaos... XOdd? But if they don't want to drive fans crazy, destroy it for once!
(yeah, the cool links in my old sig died. :( A few nerdy newish projects are here. )

When did you become such a whiner. People get ignored on threads all the time, but the more mature ones don't complain.

Likewise, don't derail this thread like you have several others lately - it's not becoming of a Mod.

But I replied to you and you didn't answer. And if I whined... well, I may not be the only one who felt a bit pissed when they get ignored. I felt like typing stuff for nothing.

I don't want to break this thread with an arguement - however many times in BKO I go to long efforts to make a funny post, or go and hunt down funny links or videos, and no-one responds. However if I try and force the conversation onto another track, I know it will break the thread.

Let's just drop this topic on this thread Rodri - it's for S4 discussion, not semantics.

So guys, who wants to see good images of the other new outfits? :)

And what's a guy gotta do to get into BKO? No, sending PMs doesn't work. Well, not for this nerd. :pbthbb:

^^ Just out of curiousity...who have you been sending them too? I think StarWay is the only one at the moment who can give out BKO access (unless X1 has gone back to doing it again). *sweatdrops*

In any case...poo to negativity. Life's too short! Always look on the bright side of life! *whistles* ;D And besides, at least in my opinion, they've yet to let us down in terms of delivering new twists and turns. I say, give it a chance. Disliking something before you've even given it a chance is silly, since then you might be missing something that you'd really have enjoyed after all. ;)

Cassius335 wrote:To be honest, the eye thingy (if it was the targeting mechanism it was suspected to be) would fit Odd better (since he's the one with the arrows).

I'm betting they ditched it for at least one of two reasons.

1) There was a lot of negative fan outcry against it (some believing it was a scar and others thinking it just plain looked dumb).

2) Animating that gizmo would have been irritating, as it would have been mostly 2 dimensional and difficult to show in views of Ulrich in profile and from above. It'd also be too easy to forget (especially since it wasn't something that was on his face before) in the final animating and editing stages.

I'm more inclined to lean towards the latter...also it's important to remember that with all concept art...what you see, is not necessarily what you'll get. It's exactly as it's name suggests, a "concept"...one that might be explored further...or decided against.

Cassius335 wrote:Ulrich's Translation form (if that's what it is) looks cool.

Agreed! :D

*snickers* Hey...anyone remember that screenshot from "Final Round" I posted a while back...you know...the one with what looked like a sea...and little islands at the bottom.

*evil grin* ....Yeeeeeeesssss... XD (I'm being silly, I know...ah, well, season 4 news is exciting ^^ ).

I think they should just keep with one. It gets too confusing to keep track of more than five people.

Here's a notion I've had on my mind. If they are seen...all costumed and with their powers... how will the outside handle it? Media attention? Perhaps unwanted romantic encounters?

Hahaha oh wow, the fanfiction concept that spawned my name way back in S1 LIVES!

Seriously though, I was just driving at the thought that the other supercomputers would have to be at least approaching the orriginal Hopperian one in power to even replicate the effects. Presumeably XANA has been building them incrimentally from scratch hence none of them really being powerful enough on their yet. "We're" in trouble soon if they get big enough though.

Presumeably they didn't want to get nailed with 'OVER 9000!!' jokes for all time. However I also heard that this was an incomplete render and there was the possibility they would still add it in later. We'll just have to see.

Also I sent a post to StarWay a million years ago for BKO access too and havn't gotten it, but search the activity and this isn't suprising what with the two posts a month.

I hope the 'power rangers' comparison doesn't show any further merit, specifically character wise. In previous seasons they barely managed to squeeze an entire scenario about a new threat, and the fight to stop it, AND have time to have a deep issue present in a single episode, and I worry that with so much new technology and plot twists that there wont be time at all, much to the effect of your common power rangers episode that conciders 2 minutes of "omg im in luv *_* " and a corny :kissing: scene at the end enough character development for 20 minutes of fighting and one-liners. Give me a giant Xanified monkey that shoots lasers and give the gang bazookas and jetpacks, it's not going to interest me in the slightest if there's no subtle and meaningful character work.
Needless to say, I'm definatly looking forward to something new as well.

Yeah, I totally dig that vibe, we've been so caught up in the new shiny stuff that I havn't even wondered if they're going to keep up the characterization, other than responding to the fellah a couple of pages back. S3 was a hair on the lacking side for everybody. Especially the secondary folks. They have a full 30 episodes across two parts in S4 to work with, but also a lot of new ground to cover. Hopefully they remember that part of the success is our love for the characters and relations and interactions as well as just the shiny destructive stuff.

I am still very confused by all of this news, but if they are going to be doing some real world battles, that could be cool. I think the outfits will feel better once we see them in action... I actually like Aelita's.

My hope is that Jeremie will actually get a little more character development because at this point he seems to be the least developed; even though he did get the sweeter deal in the female market (sorry Aelita is way cuter than Yumi.). I still get the feeling Jeremie will be the "operator"

Now about these new outfits, are they only worn when Team Lyoko is in the real world (through Translation) while they still have their old Lyoko outfits in the virtual world? Or do they wear these new outfits in both worlds? Because I'm sure there are people who like the new Season 4 outfits while there are those who preferr the old ones. So if the new outfits were to be worn in the real world and the old ones in Lyoko, that will create a balance so no one gets upset about the fact that we're moving on to new outfits and the old ones being completely gone.

Also, now that Xana is located in many supercomputers, do you think he is planning on obtaining all of their system resources in order for him to escape to the real world for good? Which then, he would go beyond this planet (to outer space) and acquire otherworldly powers and become a bunch of poisonous freezing pure black dark demonic smoke that freezes things in alien shadow nuclear ice (poisonous pure black dark demonic ice that eats away at things like acid)? And then when he returns to planet Earth with his otherworldly power, that's when we would then see the fan-made episode "Xana's Astronomical Retribution!"

I think he/she was going on a wild tangent there. (What gender are you, Astronomical XANA?)

But I do agree, your first paragraph makes some good points. Except for the fact that we saw Ulrich's new form in 3D, in that magazine. And there are models. But still, the plot's still in development.

Although the series doesn't start until March, I've been informed that the first episode has to be finished during January, so I'd say all new designs and plot developments are locked in at this time.

And JxA, I don't have any new images, I'm just commenting that I want to see new images :)
