Dear members of LF,

We are the Spambot Hunters.

Do not be alarmed, we are merely here to rid the universe of the malicious cyber-menace.

This thread is for the assignment of, destruction of, and listing of, spambots on the forum.

Our job is to help check through the back logs, member list, and forums, to find and report any and all spambots.

We'll keep a list. For every twenty we find, we send the list off to TB3, Steven, or Mewberries, (Or Star Way if avalible,) for their destruction .

Now I am ovestepping that rule a little bit, but there was worse than what I have said right now.

Feelings aside, authorities are also human beings. Don't forget that. We also have a tolerance level, which is variable depending of the person. I have seen similar or worse and sillier threads than this one. But when there's sutff that kind of crosses the limit in silliness and it happens very often, that's when I kind of lose my temper.

There's many other stuff that can anger me, but that is another topic.

I was not insulting you. I was just insulting the concept of the thread, which has been repeated and already used before.

Look, I'm sorry if I offended you. This was-and is a good idea: A group of people dedicated to finding and identifying spambots, causing less work for the admins and mods. I admit, naming it the "Spambot Hunter Society" was a little corny, but honestly, when I came up with the name, I'd just finished a massive studying binge for finals and my brain was fried, so really, anything seemed like a good idea. Maybe this thread should be locked, i dunno.

Anyway, TB3 has said that he and the other Admins and mods are gonna be doing a cleanup of the memberlist to get rid of old, inactive members and spambots sometime this month, so you guys don't have to. We'll be mostly focusing on getting rid of current spambots that show up almost daily, and reporting them on the spambot thread under news.

Still, that means that without need for spambot lists, this thread has no purpose. I suppose it must be locked, unless someone has a good reason to keep it open.

Oh, and the society will go on. It's a good idea, even if it's without a thread.

You guys can still be Spambot Hunters. And you can still put things stating such in your sigs. But honestly...I don't think this thread is needed ^^; We do have the other one, which is just as good a place for reporting what you find as any. I'm not locking this one, yet, because I want to talk about it with someone, but it's on the line, just to let you know.

Concerning CBIzumi's post, I think this thread and the one in Forum News aren't duplicates; this one is more about a society for destroying spambots, the other is for discussing how to deal with them.

At the moment however, this thread is being used to report spambot locations. It also appears to be for, at some point in the future, discussing them. In that way, the two threads are duplicates.

You know actually, I just got an idea o.o I'm not sure if I can do it, but I know one of the admins can. We should take the list of identifications and just make them into their own sticky thread in GD. That should help with reports to the Spambots thread in Site News in the future.

Alright, I talked to one of the admins and the list is going to be put into a sticky tomorrow ^^ I'd do it myself but unfortunately, I don't have that power xD; Once the list goes up, if anyone has any further additions, feel free to PM me and I'll add them in.

Aside from that, to keep the actual spambot reporting to a single thread (in this case, the one from Site News), I'm locking this one. But feel free to keep the "Spambot Hunters" thing in your sigs. If any of the admins feels this thread should be unlocked for whatever reason, they can go ahead and do it.
