Personally, I'd be more worried with some of the younger anime's as well, but older ones are scary too.
For examples:
-Robotech. 120-foot tall death machines ravage the earth. Before the series is over, most of earth's population is wiped out in a massive attack that turns earth into a molten ball.
-Any of the Gundam series: Duh.
-Inuyasha. Demons, monsters, and death.
-Helsing: vampire that kills everything. No.
