Just to kill someone off to open up a bigger plot, possibly one of the teachers or parents.

However, I think, if they want to hit a few chords, killing of Jim would be terribly sad, but would overall add some conflict for the characters. Jim was always one of my favorite characters just because he was unappreciated, but a nice guy when it came to it. Also, I wish they would explore him a bit more; I'm curious as to why he says he has so many professions...

If Jim died, and I was in the position of one of the kids, I'd feel pretty robbed of a father figure. Jim is always around, doesn't drink, doesn't fool around, he's strict when he needs to be, but is also always caring for the kids at school. Jim is part of the comical relief, which makes him so likable, in my opinion.

Anyways, yeah. As much as I like Jimbo, if they really wanted to hit some people, he'd be the one. Granted, this may lose a few people, either it just changed the series too much, or soccer moms might just complain enough.

I dont think CL is the kinda show where they'd find it necessary to kill off a main character...

William on the other hand was always a secondary character so losing him is of little consequence... It could turn out that he is a neccessary sacrifice which I wouldnt see as a problem, really...

Well, I'm thinking that William will somehow overcome Xana's virus within him. I mean, in Final Round, despite being possessed by Xana, William did have a look of guilt on his face. So maybe Xana William will end up disobeying Xana's orders and eventually, Xana will have enough of this disobedience and the virus will finally escape Xana William, thus restoring him back to normal. Therefore, maybe in that clip of Xana William and Yumi in that ship in the Season 4 Preview is about Xana William disobeying Xana's orders and actually saving Yumi because I notice that Xana William is with Yumi and he is flying away from some lasers.

Also, I've been thinking that if Zone Rouge does contain a core like Carthage did. If it does, it would be the core of Xana or the core of the Internet. Or perhaps both (a Xanafied core of the Internet). And perhaps the only way of destroying Xana is if Xana William destroys this core. And when Xana William is about to destroy this core, a demonic whisper (Xana) is telling him not to. But he does anyway which not only destroys Xana, but also the Internet as well (but hopefully Franz Hopper has been materialized so that he can restore the Internet). But if not, then that would mean Franz Hopper would be destroyed as well.

Considering this is a show with a target age of 6-11, I doubt they'll kill anyone even remotely signifigent. I think that if they kill someone off it might be Franz Hopper, something like where he sacrifices himself. No matter how much we want it I doubt the ratings will go above y-12, or whatever they are now, and killing someone important will break that boundry. I've never seen an important character die in a show for this age group.

If they were going to kill off anyone it would have to be one of the parents. Killing the main characters is right out (and XANA would get thrown out of the Villians Union for sure!), Jim is too close to the characters, and nobody (least of all the team) cares about the school kids. So that leaves their parents, who are emotionally close to the kids. Though it would probably have to be one of Yumi's parents, since we hate Ulrich's dad too much and Jeremie's dad has only ever shown up once, so pulling him in again to get wasted would seem kinda weird.

So far, only one person has actually died, and that is Aelita's mother.
Of coarse we're not 100 percent sure, but it's the only possible explanation.

I think the best characther to die to end the series would be Jeremie.

Sure I would like to see morons like Jim, Hiroki, William and Hervé buried alive... but none of them would have a bigger impact as seeing a characther like Jeremie fade away.

Yeah, I know taht most likely no one would die... but this is for fun purposes.

The thing is this, and I know this thread is more hypothetical than anything, but if anyone died during the series with young kids watching, it would more than likely scare them, because at that young of an age, its hard to understand death, or why someone died.

I would say they would probably kill of someone that wasnt seen all that much, one of the teachers or faculty behind the scenes.

I'd have to say this would be the only reason they wouldn't risk it. Children, or furthermore, society isn't so sheepish and innocent as people make it out to be though. There are games such as Mortal Kombat where you can reduce your opponent to streaming fountains of blood, some very obscene pictures and sites on Google, and movies with some...er, "tempting" scenes and actor/actresses I suppose.

And the worst part? Any kid could grab his parents Blockbuster card and get whatever he wants. People today, in general, are pretty numb towards things like death. As in, no one really feels a loss for a plane crashing, just as long as their family isn't on it. Granted, it'd be pretty hard for anyone to feel an emotional and personal loss with a plane crash, people have changed a lot.

Nonetheless, there are some kids who aren't starting fires and clipping the legs off crabs, and for that reason alone, they wouldn't kill someone off. That, and soccer moms would seriously destroy the studio while complaining about huge foreheads.

I'm not gonna vote, becauseI have two answers, neither of which I think will ever happen because death in CL will not happen in the conventional sense.

Firstly, I think if Mr. Delmas died, it would wrest a change out of Sissi - she'd tone down her attitude a bit, realize life is not all one big popularity contest. I am a big Sissi supporter, and of course it would suck to lose your dad, but it would sober her up a little, something her character has been needing for a while now. It might also bring about changes at Kadic, too, like a more inquisitive principal looking into just why the gang goes to the infirmary so much.

The death I'd like to see even more is Aelita. Nothing against her, but kill her off and the dynamics of the whole show changes. Jeremie becomes a hollow shell of what he once was - a geeky tenn unsure of whether he has anything left to fight for. The gang relies so heavily on his unspoken leadership role that I can't see future Lyoko missions being a success with a moping Jeremie having other things on his mind while trying to do his computer stuff. It would demoralize all of the gang, sap their fighting spirit to see Aelita cut down, and also shake their foundation of why they are fighting. For instance, would they care about recovering Franz Hopper if he's even still alive? Would they feel any obligation to do as they had done before, or let whatever happens happen? I can see them throwing in the towel if Aelita dies.

There are alot of shows on CN that are aimed for that kind of range. It's probably like that because there isn't any gore, or mature themes in CL, b/c if there was, it would have been in Adult Swim. Teen Titans, Totally Spies were like that too. I didn't care for the second one though.

Oh, and the only thing that needs to be killed off as far as Jim's concerned is his inhumane attitude towards the children. I know he's an authority figure and everything, but yelling, screaming, and even injuring children is not gonna help them learn PE. Just my opinion.
