Help Needed

I don't like my brother being so mean to me, and I'm too, lets say, get upset easily. Everytime he yells at me when i 'annoy' him, I feel really bad. I try to do nice things for him like make him food and get his homework when he's out sick. My mom keeps telling me that he' my brother and all brothers are like that, but do I upset too easily? how can I make him like me better? I try not to talk to him in school cuz he's really popular and I embarrass him in front of his friends. I'm a year youger but I know and are friends with half of them. Anyway, PLZ HELP!!

Affirmitive.... When my sister molly and I were growing up like when I was little, we got into so many arguements.... My Dad said be nice to her because some day she is going to be one of the best friends you could ever have because she is your sister... He was right my sister is one of the best friends I have. The advice I have to offer is just hang in there because some day your brother will be one of the best friends you will ever have... I know it doesn't seem like it right now but trust me being nice to him will pay off eventually...

Okay, here is this new thing that has just happened: I had a field trip for all chorus members on Friday, and I came into school a little late. I thought it was okay since it was 7:28 and the bus isn't suppose to leave until 7:30. So i walk into school, and my brother and some of his friends are walking. And my bro is like "holly, you just missed the bus," and all but like two of his friends agree and i start feaking out. I get myself so embarassed when I see my choir teacher walking down the hallway. I had just been humilaited in front of the guy i liked (on of my bro's friends) and he knew i liked him! I want ben (brother) dead!

Its just a part of growing up....just be nice to him...the time will come when he will realize the errors of his ways.

Of course Sis...and you know..my real life little sister can be a pain as well...but I still help her and do things for her even when she doesnt truly deserve it...because that is what family does for each other.

I have a brother just like that and he bosses me around. Sadly I have to live with him. Also he says Code Lyoko and all cartoons are stupid. So in that way I still have to live with him. So my advice to you try not to be so hard on yourself. Just ingnore what he says.

LOL Things like that happen .All you can do is just smile or laugh.I did something like that .I thought I missed the ship leaving(Putting in mind it was my home for the rest of the week) but it hae just moved to another peir what was funny .But just smile or laugh when things like that happen it really doe's help

i also have a close problem with my sister, she is always mad at me no matter what i do.she always makes me feel weak and dumb.but stay away from him it will pass.

I have three younger brothers, and we fought all the time when we were growing up. Believe me when I say that he isn't doing it to be mean (or at least most likely not). For example, I had something of a harsh life while I was growing up (got harassed a lot at school), and I tended to lose my temper more at home as a result. It isn't that I was trying to be mean or nasty towards my brothers, but I was so tangled up in my own problems that I didn't see what my actions were doing. Chances are he's having to deal with something similar.

Something that's easy to forget when you're young is that regardless of incidental stuff that happens between siblings, they still care about each other (even if they don't show it well). I'm sure he appreciates the fact that you're being nice to him, but he is probably having to deal with peer pressure or stress and so he thinks it's "safe" to get upset around you (whereas it wouldn't be "safe" to do so around his friends).

It's a sad irony that the people who are the closest to us, the ones who we relax our guard around the most, are also the ones who we tend to hurt the most. Well, all I can say here is to keep your chin up and not let yourself treat him the way he's apparently treating you. Treat him as you want him to treat you...trust me, he'll remember that when you're both older.
