HAHAHAHA!!! That was great. It was like those witty Computer Gaming World (now Games for Windows) or Electronic Gaming Monthly reviews, just without the informative parts. And with less clever jokes. I'm still going to bookmark it. I really wasn't expecting much from the game. It's too under the radar to get a decent company to make it.

Just out of curiousity...to those of you who have been agreeing with this review about the game...have you even played it?

Because it's pretty poor critical review (not to mention unprofessional) to nay-say something before you actually give it a try. ^^;

I'm sure most serious game reviewers and game enthusiasts would agree on this. *nods*

True. I'll wait until I get the EGM review before making judgments. And a third party internet review is always a good idea.

This guy said the right thing. It's just for laughs. Not the best CL bashing, but it's okay for cracking up a little.

No I haven't played it, I'm going by the video clips that they showed, compared to other games I've played on a DS.

Oh goodness...please don't ever go by Internet video to judge the quality of something...unless it's a downloaded video that one can watch on their own players.

Internet video is murder on image quality...you simply cannot get a good jist of a game's graphics merely by what is seen of its gameplay on YouTube or some other video website...you always lose something. ^^;

I played the game itself and even if I wouldn't exactly give it 5 stars, X-Play's review is just plain bad. Even if they tried to be funny it's completely unrelated to the game itself; the review is not worthy enough to convince any gamer (non-CL fan or otherwise) that "hey, this game sucks, don't buy it!"

I've read a lot better, more accurate reviews, such as in IGN and such, and none of them even give high enough stars to make the game a "must buy." This one by X-Play is just plain bad.

But hey, everyone has different tastes, but I personally think that someone who is very familiar w/ CL should be the one reviewing the game itself. Obviously Morgan Webb doesn't know a thing or two about the series itself (I'm sure she did some research for her review, but has she ever watched the show itself? Probably not...) for her to make such a really bad review.

For a non-nerdish person (pretty much I assume Webb isn't much of a nerd or geek), it would be pretty hard to get into Code Lyoko. It's even harder to get into the show if you haven't watched the first season or the second one. The third season isn't really appealing for a person who would try to give CL a shot. Not to forget the age-target is a huge turn-off. If it wasn't because I was bored to death at 2005 vacations and zapped through Jetix and saw Routine, I'd never hook to CL.

I'm a nerd at times. That doesn't mean I get hooked to the stuff portrayed in Star Trek, X-Files, etc.

It's not about getting into it...all she would have had to do was just look at Wikipedia (or even just one episode). I don't think she did any research at all into the show the game was based off of...it's quite possible she didn't even play the game at all.

And that's just unprofessional if you ask me. ^^;

Thank you so much for saying this. I was thinking exactly the same thing!
By only watching a review of a game instead of doing your own research on it, don't pass on the game. Give it a shot before you say anything!

That's what I said in my ealier post actually, that there's a lot of info going around that she doesn't play most of the games she reviews. Pretty sad :(

First off, I don't like point and click. Don't like it, don't like it, don't like it.

But now, I think that, if someone has gone berserk over that review, (and I'm going to come clean; I didn't even read past the first few replies lest I forget what I was going to say) don't worry. These people obviously don't understand CL and shouldn't be blamed for dissing the game. I haven't played it and don't know if it's any good. Besides, they didn't really say anything too offensive to our cartoon friends. I mean, we all know the size of their foreheads are cause for ridicule, but we know them too much as characters to be upset by something like that, which is more that we can say for that dunce giving the review, or the dunce that wrote her lines.

Just find comfort in the knowledge that non-fans of CL shall never truly know Jesus.

...or not.

...or whatever. ;)

^^; I personally have never understood why and when simply using a new, original, and unique artistic style became a reason for ridicule.

Granted, that's life, but seriously, the foreheads aren't that big...and it's a low shot if that's what you're trying to insult it with. I wish people were more open-minded about different artistic styles. *sweatdrops*

Anyway though, as several people have already said, this interview is badly researched (if at all), and should be taken only with a grain of salt. ^^;

I just wish that. Code: Lyoko's more of a classic within the group of people who like it, like us. It's not really meant to be watched by kids and Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb.

I guess it should not be a target for real, mean-spirited ridicule, but back during the first season when I didn't like the show (yes, there was such a time, but I'd rather not talk about it) it did seem to me that the size of their foreheads made them look really abnormal. However, that passed real quickly when I totally fell in love with the show. I still think the size of their foreheads is odd, but I'm completely accustomed to it now and it even makes them seem a little cooler. And more familiar. As in, my large-headed friends.

Well, this is X-Play we're talking about. Nobody should expect professional reviews from them. Luckily, some people know this by now.

That comic strip was hilarious, as I like X-Play and will laugh at the reviews.

Do note people that X-play's reviews should be taken lightly. There are literally people sending threats to Morgan Webb for such a crummy review. :*D

That wasn't funny. Recommendation: Christopher Titus

That was apologized for. Recommedation: Please read all post, pleaseokthanks.

Recommendation- I did, Apologizing for it just further proves my point.

Beady eyes? *sniff* ;__; X-play isn't even funny. That beady eyes comment crossed the line. Although, X-play was stupid before that, too.

Just saw this. I don't think they actually reviewed much. But then again, this game's prolly like a million other tie-ins, you know? Solid, unoriginal and focused on serving the fans so there probably isn't much left to review.
