The Simpsons Movie (Suprised that Nobody Made This Yet)

Postby Malkmusian » Sat Jul 21, 2007 10:54 am

This topic is for discussion and reviews of the Simpsons Movie, coming out July 27, 2007. I'm trying to see it on the day that it comes out, but that's the first day of school for me and because I'm always loaded to my knees a lot of permission slips for classes, I can go after I get those signed.

Oh, and I have to return a rented Leo Kottke CD to the library that same day.

What? July 27th? Where do you go to school?

Mneh, I kiinda liked Futurama better, and around here everyone seems to think it's a boy's cartoon, so I don't watch it... But I couldn't help snickering when I saw that spider pig line.

Hrmm. I'll probably be running around squealing 'WHEEHEEPOKEMONPEARL<3~' on the 27th, but I'm definitely seeing it at some point. I'm just hoping it's not like the past 3 seasons of the show- those were awful. Ugh.

It does seem decent, and I'd love it to be the final send off of the series. We've road the horse now it's time to put a spectacular bullet in it's head.

Really, Matt can do better stuff now... Futurama proved that.

Both shows by Groening are good, but the Simpsons is classic.

AB's question: I got to Newton County High School in Covington, GA. I live in the city.

Who can ever forget the timeless classic line "Spiderpig, Spiderpig does whatever a Spiderpig does."
I was UlrichxYumiFan12, then season 3 ended and I decided to change my username for the time being. Also If I reply to multiple posts, its because I haven't been on for a month and I'm getting used to the site again.

You know, I was surprised that no one had made this thread too. Anyway, as a long time fan of The Simpsons I'm going to see this movie for sure. Unless... I die or something. I don't really know what to expect from it though, as I haven't liked the last seasons very much (and by that I mean that I've been awfully disappointed by them). However, classic Simpson's writers and/or former showrunners like John Swartzwelder, Mike Reiss and David Mirkin were involved in its making so I don't foresee a disaster. And while I don't think it can be as classic as something from the early seasons (based on the trailers which seem okay to me), I still hope it will really make me laugh.

I want to see it.

To ese mae's post, actually I'm in a median between the new seasons, the Mike Scully seasons, and the John Swartzwielder seasons for the great seasons. I don't like the first 2 because they focus so much on Bart and not on Homer (except for some gems, like "Bart the Daredevil", which Homer falls down Springfield Gorge in the way all Simpsons fans can recall it, and "When Flanders Failed", yet another comic episode.)

Am I the only one who actually likes all of the Mike Scully seasons?

Certainly the first I've ever heard of. Not that there's anything wrong with that... Personally, I despise some of the episodes he showran but we can just say it's all a matter of taste.

Which are the Mike Scully seasons?

Well, I sensed Simpsons being quality lowered from the 300th episode (overhyped and pretty regular).

But the puerco-araña scene is so making me watch it in spanish. In English, the Spider-Pig singing sucks.

Well, the Mike Scully seasons are the most disliked because Homer is more of an antagonist in those seasons. The episodes include "Behind the Laughter" and "HOMR".

I don't understand how "Spider-pig" is funny. They do have some good jokes and lines, but seriously, that was horrible. Harry Plopper was decent, though.

Probably going to wait until it comes out on DVD or something. The light--it burns!

That's because it isn't. I keep thinking that the trailers aren't that great. Luckily, most of what we've seen isn't supposed to appear in the actual movie.

Spiderpig shall rule the world!
I remember the other Spiderman joke from The Simpsons.

"Homerguy, Homerguy! He hits the badguys with a pie!"

"It's Pieman!"
My other car is a gundam.

Actually, I think Spider-Pig is funny because that's how dumb Homer is.

Well, I know I for one am going to try to go and see it. At first I wasn't really all that interested, because I'm not what you'd call a fan of the most recent season(s). But the more trailers I see and the more I hear, the more I wanna see it. So count me in xD ^^
