Grandmother died

Postby Jeremified » Wed Aug 08, 2007 1:15 am

My grandmother died an hour ago this night. My parents were in the ICU with her the moment she died, but I was watching my sister at home. So I'm not exactly tearjerked, although depressed right now- not to mention everybody around me is feeling even worse. That makes it hard to keep myself contained. :( My dad is especially shaken from it, for the obvious reason. That makes it more uncomfortable because I've never seen him like this before.
thank you all for the good memories <3

Death is not the end, but merely another step on the path of life. I hope you feel better soon. :( My heart goes out to your family. Do anything you can to cheer up your dad. It sounds like he needs it. You might try getting him (and the rest of the family) to talk about all the good memories he has of her. That's good therapy. It'll speed the healing process.

I agree with Zex. Thinking about the good memories you have of her is good therapy.
However, if your Grandma knew the Lord, you shouldn't be too sad. Your Grandma is in a much better place.

I'm very sorry this had to happen, Jeremified. I was devastated when my own grandma died, so rest assured that I understand how you feel. Please, I would like to tell you not to worry; I'm sure your grandmother is in a much better place, regardless of her religious beliefs, and be glad that the pains and tragedy of our world is no longer bothering her. My sincere desire is that your grandmother is finally enjoying her ultimate paradise, and that you may one day (many, many decades from now) join her in peace.

Jeremified, I'm so sorry to hear that happened. I went through the same thing you did not that long ago, with both my grandmothers actually, so I know how you feel. There are no words, really, that can fill the gap of someone that important to you suddenly missing from your life... But hopefully, thinking of the good times can ease the pain, as can the thought that at least she's free from strife and turmoil, from arguments, violence, disease, <s>politics</s> and everything else bad in this world. And if it helps, like Planet Cool said, you'll get to see her again someday ^^ If not in pleasant dreams, then in when it's your time too, manymany years from now.

And Kamekai, down boy. *stern look* ....*cough* Sorry xD; But yes please, watch what you say ^^; And not just here, but in general...

Jeremified's grandma dies, the thread stays active.
Taelia (a LF member) talks about her shunt, her thread gets locked.

In both cases, yeah, sucks to have a shunt and have a dead grandma.

Okay first of all, it's unfair to compare the two topics. One's a thread about a passed family member; the other's an unallowed returning thread.

It dies NOW. Please remain on topic. You, Rodri, and anyone else who's going to post here. If you want to discuss the goings-on about other LF members, then keep it to PM.

It's sad and painful, but nothing is permanent and everyone dies eventually. We alone are nothing but insignificant bodies moving around and reacting to stimuli in a way determined by habit, and dying is really for the greater good. (Not that dying is a good thing, of course.) After all, without death, the world would be overpopulated and there wouldn't be enough resources to go around. Sadly, we are all just tiny, expendable parts of this great thing called life and if more people are to be born, someone has to go.

I'm sorry to hear that your grandmother died. My grandparents are some of the people I respect most in the world. Nobody I've known well has ever died, so I can't fully understand the pain you are going through. I believe it is normal and human to be sad or shaken and for this kind of significant tragedy there is no such thing as overreacting. Don't worry about how sad you and your family are; most people would be if they were in your situation.

However, remember to cheer up sometime. If your grandmother were in the afterlife looking down at you she surely would not want you to be sad for her. When you get over it, cheer up and live your life to its fullest. I'm sure it will be a happy experience. :)

... that is so creepy. If you mean she died on the night of the 7th, she died around the same time my great-aunt just died. And my dad is taking it the hardest too.

o_0

We can grieve together then. xD;; Only I'm not very good at it... heartfelts, anyway. <3

I am very sorry to hear about your grandmother. I couldn't imagine losing either set of my grandparents. I had one of my favorite teachers die in sixth grade and I didn't want to believe that she was never coming back, it really hurt ;__; . The concept of death scares me when I think about it  . I do not buy that crap about there being a light at the end of a tunnel. I have a passage that may ease your mind about death.

"And the ship went out into the high and passed into the west, until at last on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweeet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned to silver all to silver glass and was rolled back, and there he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise." JRR Tolkien.

We do not know what death is like but we do know that it is a continuation of the journey, and there is a time in which all of us will die.

I am soooo sorry about your grandmother Jeremiefied I hope things get better if you need someone to talk to feel free to PM me I am always willing to help.
