LyokoDreamers has a summary posted, in French, for anyone who wants to try reading it. ;D

"Medusee" Summary"

Incidentally, I kind of feel like the RTTP was very necessary in this episode. There's no point in the writers writing themselves into a corner by not RTTP-ing and then having to explain how the kids get themselves out of huge trouble with the police and the government (since Mr. Delmas, was not at all happy about them faking Aelita's identity).

They were in big trouble, and I'd rather they use the best out the have in an episode, then to have the story continue (with them getting put into jail or the like) and have an even more ridiculous "jail break" plot later.

Isn't it illegal to throw children in jail? :cussout: I am writing an essay about this, currently.

Depictions of Juvenile Jail Time
by
Angie Yazdani

The depiction of children being thrown in a prison-like environment has become numerous in recent years. It has, for example, appeared in many animated children's cartoons, like The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, Teen Titans, and more recently Code Lyoko. Often, these TV shows depict the child (or children) being placed in a correctional facility mainly designed for adults with a multitude of criminal charges. This has become apparent in the real world as well, usually for something completely silly or stupid.

The most recent real-world example is given as this: a child was recently placed in jail for four hours for scratching somebody with a comb. The law enforcers had the nerve to not call the child's parents right away, only doing so when the "sentence" was complete. Another example is when a kindergarten teacher called the police for a young girl taking down things off of a bulletin board, and the officers cuffing her while she was crying. This has sparked public outrage in recent years.

Most of the time, these animators for these cartoons have very little idea what they are doing, as they are bending and twisting certain elements of reality to fit with their own creations. For example, in the Code Lyoko episode "The Girl of the Dreams", Jeremie brings Taelia to the factory, and she brings two cops and the principal back to the factory to question Jeremie. Although the principal is calm, Jeremie refuses to give him and the two officers an explanation, and so the officers grab Jeremie and drag him away, without doing what they are supposed to do , i.e., read Jeremie his Miranda rights and/or talking to him. Judging by the way that they were dragging him before episode's end, we can assume that they are taking the boy to prison.

A similar situation occurs in three episodes of The Powerpuff Girls called "Powerpuff Bluff", "Stuck Up, Up, and Away", and "Mo Job". In the first episode described, three men (criminals, apparently) dress up as the Girls in an attempt to frame them. The stupid Mayor thinks the real Girls are responsible, and calls the unseen (at the time) Chief of Police. The girls are arrested, cuffed, and thrown in jail, even though they were being framed. They break out of prison, but are forced to go back after breaking out. The second and third episodes described not only introduces the spoiled Princess Morbucks, but also have her being thrown in jail as well, once for blowing out a wall of the local kindergarten building and the other for an unknown reason.

Woe! That's suspenseful! So, I wonder where this season is going?

Wait... how long is this season again? Is it still twenty six, or was it fourty?

And as always, it resumes the CL tradition of beating around the bushuntil the last two episodes to actually talk about the plot! Yay tradition!

XD

This season will be 30 episodes long. It ends with episode #95. ^^

"Medusee" Summary"

Just read this through, and again, they're ducking around with the timeline again - consistency people, consistency ;)

Point - Jeremie implies that if Franz was a teacher 9 years ago, then Aelita would be 22 - while this is consistent with our assumed age for Aelita in 1994 (12 to 13), it implies that the setting for this episode is 2003, earlier even than our dearly held date for the show's genesis of October 9th 2004 - and thus it implies the show starts around 2000, even though Aelita said she spend 10 years as a piece of software and then...ah it gets too confusing - I'm just going to pretend that Jeremie was throwing numbers out in an attempt to not look too knowledgeable XD - lol, this is why Moonscoop need someone to check consistency and continuity XD

EDIT: I want to add, that it's kinda frustrating that Aelita just chooses to explain all this backstory at the end of the episode off-the-cuff - I mean, for over two years now we've been wondering about the whole 'Waldo Schaeffer' thing and now it turns out Aelita's known for ages but just couldn't be bothered to tell anyone - bwah - it just seems really anticlimactic! XD

XD; This might be another one of those, "Oh I just remembered" moments...seeing as, in accordance with facts mentioned in "Lab Rat", she still can't recall everything about her childhood (like her birthday, for example). The photo might have helped her remember a little more about herself, among those her father's real full name, as well as her mother's name, and such.

...Oh how I wish they'd just play "Lab Rat" already. ^^;;;;

Ah, they'll air it sometime before the finale. Maybe right before the finale. That'd be REALLY frustrating.

Just read a translation of CL.fr's summary, and I gotta say, that's some deep doodoo they were in. A bit much to stretch out over five episodes and still keep interesting for the kiddies. Ah well. Maybe later on...

Oh, what was I coming to post in the first place? Oh yeah. France, in another attempt to prove they're better than us, is airing the next TWO new eps next week, all in a row, putting us yet another episode behind. Specifically, Mauvaise Ondes and Sueurs Froides, or Bad Connection and Cold Sweat.

...speculate now.

Me too. Why do think I keep trying to shoot down those plots when they show up in Episode Ideas?

I heard France is having two new episodes this Saturday and three next Saturday.

Two weeks until the finale airs in France...I hope to be able to see William kick butt again in his whitey tighties. :D

What's sad is if we still get new episodes once a week and the schedule isn't interrupted by anymore CN special events (not likely), we'll get the finale sometime in...January. At least 3 months away.

The show will get more popularity that way. :) Then CL won't be cancelled and all would be well. :) :)

Hmm good point. Let's just hope CN doesn't drop those ratings by skipping an episode or something and make CL look bad. >_> *readys sniper gear*

REMEMBER:

Tommorrow, France gets a triple-bill of S4, leaving the two final episodes of S4 to air in the coming weeks - keep a weather eye on Dailymotion and the other sites for footage

My predictions:
3 Replicas down, 2 to go - given the way sectors have corresponded to location (Forest Replica = Amazon, Desert = Nevada, Sector 5 = Hi-Tech Space Station), I expect we'll see the mountain and ice sectors turning up in an alpine and polar region (or something similar) respectively.

I'm wondering now if there is any big twists ahead - all of the things I had hoped for (Project Carthage, Franz's backstory) have as of yet not surfaced, and given we only have 5 eps to go I guess they probably won't, but I'm hoping that there will be some big WOW moment to do with XANA or somesuch - fingers crossed :)

We don't even know if there will be a Season 5. It's just a possibility.

One advantage to being a brit is that I wake up just as the French sit down to watch new eps, so here for your pleasure, is a screencap from the first of the three episodes that air today.

SPOILERS
And if I am reading this correctly, then it gives me great pleasure to introduce Mr and Mrs Della Robbia!

PS: No wonder Odd's conscious of his size and body build, look at his dad! XD - in fact, since he seems to resemble neither of his parents I can only put Odd down to really recessive genes XD

But why is she ordering cafeteria food? 0_0

You're right...though Odd's mom is very pretty. I have this sneaking feeling he's adopted. Well, all who's left to see now are Odd's sisters and Jeremie's mom.

And William finally comes back to us! I think. That means the finale draws closer. I like that bit of continuity that when he comes back, he's in his old outfit. :D

I also think I spied a few Ulrich/Yumi moments in the episodes, but yeah that's just me. And maybe an Odd/Sissi *bricked*

Things that caught my eye:

COOL: http://img.codelyoko.fr/galeries/93_ret ... ur_184.jpg (reminds me of AMV Hell 4. "Building my warrior robot race...")
PRETTY: http://img.codelyoko.fr/galeries/92_sue ... es_129.jpg (You don't know how long I've been waiting for this.)
ZOMG: http://img.codelyoko.fr/galeries/93_ret ... ur_267.jpg (the French call it Kolosse, which i'm reading into English as Colossolus or whatever it's called. FEAR IT.)

Now that is DEFINITELY a reason to keep the characters for Season 5. O.O Seriously, what is CL without the gang? This "new chracters" fiasco would really drive me away from the show. :(
