Okay, timekitten, here is what he's saying:

Season 2 had fans dislike the show because it was revealed that Aelita wasn't an AI: she was Aelita Hopper.

Season 3 had William betray the gang and plus, we have to go with a sideplot of Odd's.

Season 4 introduced the Subdigitals, Aelita's last name as Schaeffer, and Franz being wiped out along with XANA.

Part of them are my views. Season 2, one of my friends stopped watching the show since he was more of a oldschool S1 fan and S2 was different from that. He also thought some episodes from Season 1 sucked (SVD, to cite on example) and that Jeremie wasn't being used well.

Also, it hurt Code Lyoko fans (in USA) to have to wait 1 year for a new season. Some got into other fandoms and Code Lyoko was no longer appealing to them.

Okay, that's what I wanted to know. Though I don't see how the show had so many JTS as you mentioned in the other post. Seeing how the term, at least as I saw it, is when the show reaches the most anticipated/expected plot moment and it can never be the same after that. XANA's ultimate destruction in 94 is the only one that comes to mind.

I guess I was the exception in that case. XD I lost my love of it for other fandoms and highly disliked CL in general after I thought it ended in S1, but came back to love enjoy it when I stumbled across commercial of S2, and it's premiere. lol

Ah...unfortunately, that's a slightly different case.

Kim Possible Season 4 was originally not going to happen because of a policy Disney had in which any given TV show could not go past 65 episodes. Kim Possible had reached 65 episodes and was going to end at Season 3. However, Disney (when it came under new management) got rid of that policy, and, with the help of the fans and the creators, was put back into production.

With CL it is...not quite the same story. Production is not being forcibly "stopped", nor does there seem to be any hostility or scandal within Code Lyoko's ending at Season 4. It is merely the way they planned to end the story.

...They've been saying it since before season 4 aired. ^^;;;

Not so different. In that case, continued interest in the show may result in an additional season. The same could happen here. And the friendliness in this case can only help.

I heard that even trhe VAs themselves do not agree with their show being over by 4 television seasons. Contracts, and the series itself, CAN be extended.

In short, we know:
There will be some CL stuff for the next few years. (If Moonscoop has any business sense.)

There are no current plans for a full Season 5.

    Plans can change...

Hey, TB3, do you truly believe that CL will continue based on that phone call you made to Taffy Enttertainment's London office? :umm: I'm not saying this annoyingly, I'm just wondering.

Ehhh...I was under the impression that the creators of KP (as is possibly the case with the creators of CL) simply were ending KP at Season 4 because they wanted it to end there, with the ending they'd written. I've also heard in a few interviews that they were interested in moving on to making other shows (not that they're "tired/sick of KP", just that they want to do something new/different).

...Which also may or may not be the case with CL. I wouldn't know, we'd have to ask Mr. Mouscadet, Tania Palumbo, the CL writers...and pretty much anyone else who's in charge of making CL happen. ^^;

And of course, plans can change and contracts can be renewed, but I do not want anyone "forced" into doing something...simply to please fan/company demands. ...That's never going to end well. If it's done by choice, yes. Forced, nah-uh. *sweatdrops*

New information

Postby Taelia » Tue Nov 20, 2007 10:16 pm

New information has just come to light.

Let me translate this into English:

Due to the fan-mail from the people being ticked off at the series' ending without giving any light on Project Carthage, the name change, and Antea's disappearance, Canal J and Moonscoop have decided to carry on the series via a video game and DVD (set in 2008 in France; also, from Tech Links, I found out that "Quest for Infinity" is being made for the PS2).

With the DVD, there will be 2-3 episodes with some episode called "The Alarm Clock of XANA" and a booklet of the first episode. In other news, issue #3 of Code: Lyoko magazine is out until December.

Errr...close, but not quite. *sweatdrops*

That particular news item says that nothing has yet been decided in the way of continuing the Code Lyoko storyline. They might look into a 5th season but they are also thinking about simply making a few episodes to explain what the fans say needs to be explained. They have not decided anything at the moment so the fans will have to wait until a further decision can be made. MoonScoop is weighing all of their options.

They are, however, definitely backing a few more Code Lyoko games (such as a PS2 and PSP version of "Quest for Infinity", and a sequel, and possible tre-quel, to the DS game. They are also working on releasing a complete DVD set of the entire Code Lyoko series with various special features and extras.

I want a season 5! I hope they choose to make a season 5 because they are awsome Code: Lyoko and all of that, but if they just make a dvd explaining what we want to be explained then we come up with more questions from those newer episodes therefore by the time they our questions awsered they would have a season 5 and maybe 6 from all of our questions! That is just my opinion!

Yeah, most of the core staff of KP got hired on at Nickelodeon after Disney let them go. Some of them are working on Tak and the Pwoer of JuJu show.

As for CL and Season 5...I want to wait and see the last episodes in English to get a better feel for them before I decide if I really want the show to go on. Right now, I'd say 70% no, 30% yes, only because I liekt o see losoe ends tied up, adn the dub may produce more of them and sway that percentage of mine.

That is just my opinion!

I would love to see the complete series of CL on DVD. One, I'm sick of my cruddy VCRs and VHSs. Two, I don't want to hunt all the individual DVDs. The fact that their focusing a little more to games now is cool. I'm sure they're smart enough to space out the DS, Wii and/or PS2 instead of releasing all the games at once. Maximize profits and keep the series fresh even after the tv series finale. What I wish is that they release a soundtrack. Of the show's music, not another album of songs from the SubDigitals.
