Have you guys heard about that writers' strike? Ever since I heard about it, I became a little worried. Especially when our fave show is concerned.

First, favorite is relative, but that's being completely technical.
Second, Code Lyoko is written in France, and not in Hollywood, where the strike is taking place (if my sources are correct).
And third, Code Lyoko (if you're referring to that in your post) is over, so I doubt it would be affected even if it was written in Hollywood. (Which I have specified earlier, it's not)

I was planning on posting this thread (along with a couple of articles to give people who have no idea what this is. Dur.) but I decided that the war in the middle East is more important and ditched the idea to make this thread.

Personally, I'm a <I>little</I> disgruntled because this means House M.D., 24, and Prisonbreak will not be airing anytime soon if this strike continues. Or so I assume.

Correct! Also from my sources Code Lyoko has enough money to back up the show for Season 5, but Taffy and everyone else might wan't to make a new Season, but give the show to a new company. Soooooo...... Yea

Well, admittedly, the strike does take off a lot of eally good/bad tv shows that I watch on the soup... so I'm a tad sad about that
However, I do understand the writer's plea. The advertisement on the side however, does not include the actualcontent on the page. if they wantedto get someone's attention, they'd find a way to get their content OFF the page in the first place.

Yeah, the whole reason the writers are striking is because the networks are trying to cheat them out of most of the money for their work. When episodes are legally streamed online, the writers get jack, since online streaming is for "promotional purposes only". It would be like book publishers saying that book authors wouldn't get money on any e-books because it's not "designed for profit."

True, and who wants to buy or wach somthing over again when they've allready seen/read it? I admit I've boutgh a lot less mangas after reading scanlations, and I really only get them now to read when I'm bored or to share with friends. It's kind of the same situation as when you go into a book store and look at books for three hours but don't buy anything.

Well, even if I had downloaded every song I like from an album, I still feel compelled to buy it anyway. That's just me. And we're kinda starting to veer off-topic... ._.

No, not really, we're comparing and linking it to other experieces. It's like lacing stuff together.

But as for that we should do about it, well umm... bklow up the internetz?

Bwaha... how about a little bit of ethics pumped back into the country? For everyone... even the writers. But to be honest, a lot of their shows and scripts have been hectic anyways, and you need the brain power of a potted cactus to understand them...

True, but if people are still watching the shows made from the scripts, the writer's should get paid, especially if the network makes money. That's just common sense.

Yes, but if you're filling heads with half rate stories, you get half rate people, unfortunately. We're all the same, and we all absorb what we're exposed to. Inserting my personal opinion, if you give people shows about charachter sho're kinda slimy anyways, you get partly slimy people. We've been doing it since were were babies, and that's how we grow up. Biologically it's how we've been doing it since, well, human existence.

All the good sitcom plots were beaten to death in the eighties, so what do they use to plug up the holes? Look at Two and a Half Men.

We need these ppl back at work so they can uncover a sitcom plot that hasn't been used 7,000,000 times.
