If there is going to be a season 5, my big question is:

Now what? They've distroyed XANA. Does this mean XANA has survived? Could Franz have survived? Or is some fool going to come along and restart the SC?

Hate to be a pessimist here, but I personally do not think there will be a Season 5, nor do I think that there should be. Code Lyoko was an awesome show, we all know this. But the main antagonist is dead and gone. The gang themselves has closed the book on their adventures. There's no way to continue the series without coming up with some stupid way to bring XANA back, and I don't want that to happen. The show ended on a good note, and I don't want that to be ruined with some corny 5th season with no plot. Everything good has to come to an end, and Code Lyoko's time has come.

And think about it. Just because the show's over doesn't mean we have to give it up. Think about all those short-lived shows with rabid cult following, they still live on without more seasons, like Invader ZIM. Even the original Star Trek only had 3 seasons. That's what we can be! Rabidly obsessive Code Lyoko cultists! I know that's not what cult following means, but you get the point. And I'm digressing. My point is that we don't need a Season 5 and I don't want one.

Though maybe a spin-off! Perhaps a prequel sort of thing, "The Hoppers", set before the disappearance of Aelita and W. Franz "Hopper" Schaeffer, chronicling Aelita's life in Kadic and Franz's efforts with Lyoko. But then again, spin-offs are always lame. So nevermind.

What happens when the Russians make a maintence run to their remote supercomputing facility and find Evil Killer Death Robots?

What happens when the Brazilians find their remote supercomputing facility's power generators destroyed, with cybernetic spider remains?

What happens when the U.S. Military finds blah blah supercomputer destroyed?

What happens if they swap notes?

I know Invader ZIM never finished, but it was canceled, and still has a following.

And as for the unanswered questions, there will always be unanswered questions. Even J.K. Rowling didn't answer everything, and she's the master of closure. (I think I read that in Time Magazine) A 5th season won't fix that. And I think CL quit while it was ahead, which is a good thing.

What if XANA stowed away in the Ile Seguin's SC's memory, and used Lyoko's Towers to make a new Replika during the night before shutdown?

Highly unlikely, seeing how the multi-agent system is suppose to make a full sweep of everything connected to the network to eliminate all traces of XANA. And since both are digital entities, so to speak, there's nowhere XANA could go that it couldn't go to either.

Well...there's a distinct difference between what I want it to be about, what I hope it'll be about, and what I think it'll really be about. If we're lucky, we'll get questions answered, a new way to twist up the plot, and for srs character development. If we're not lucky, we'll be reduced to "i'd rather not talk about it" jokes. Or a new set of kids. Sorry, I'm just not down with that idea.

That is exactly what I'm afraid of, exactly why I do not want a Season 5. If Moonscoop screws up, the show that ended on a pretty good note could be ruined forever.

And yes, I'd like to think so. I keep having these darn ideas... why can't I think of any for Yumi in XLL? I ran into this same problem with Ulrich before... >.< But I'll gripe about that later.

Well... There is one way....

The Multi-agent system was designed to destroy another multi-agent system (like XANA). In theory, XANA could have condensed itself down into one core AI program and escaped destruction. Of course, there is no telling what this would do to XANA....

Or he could have taken some of Franz's program codes and altered his signature to escape. So that's two ways.

Alternatively (going by LTT theory), the MAS only destroyed XANA's presence in the Network/ZPS, leaving its code shattered into mini-XANAs stuck on each supercomputer. If each Replika's Towers were also used to grant the host computer ZPS-manipulation abilities, then each mini-XANA wouldn't be able to recreate the Replikas or send monsters to the Network. Each one would remain in control of its facility, though.

That is exactly what I'm afraid of, exactly why I do not want a Season 5. If Moonscoop screws up, the show that ended on a pretty good note could be ruined forever.

It's a risk, but I can't see a significant risk to the fandom:

A. It's an amazing season. Not a problem at all.
B. It's a mediocre season. Not much of a blow; it often seems like we're more fans of Lyoko's potential than the show itself. We carry on, same as always.
C. It's a horrid season. Can be dealt with by a collective "I'd rather not talk about it."

One thing i thought is what if xana caught wind of what was about to happen, And copied himself and alterd the data of the clone so that the multi agent program could'nt destroy the clone. After the super computer gets shut down the clone roams the internet till it finds another super computer and moves in....

If you write that idea, Lyoko422, I've have no need for a season 5, because that would kick so much butt it's not funny. An actual CL story I'd anticipate - hasn't happened in a while.
