CL's Ending...What Are Your Thoughts?

General original series discussion (Seasons 1-4)

Moderators: The Administrators, Moderators

How the heck did someone find this topic from JANUARY?!

Anyway, there are way too many questions unanswered. You don't leave a show with too many questions unanswered.

I do think though that they should really put some thought in season 5. The supercomputer is shut down, xana's destroyed (NO!!!! :cussout: ), and they have nothing to do. The only thing they can do is have someone abuse the supercomputers return to the past power. Or they can create a game out of it. Or they can create a xana like thing to use to their own advantage. Franz hopper could somehow come back.

But it is puzzling with ep 95. Usually they leave with a huge cliff hanger on the last ep. Season 1 was that Aelita didn't make it out of the supercomputer (What was the point of that? I mean, thats what they fought for, and then they lost?). Season 2 was that Aelita made it out. Season 3 was that they brought William on the team. Season 4 left with the above said. But they left with the gang saying goodbye. Watch the last minute. It wasn't a "lets walk off into the sunset", it was "seeya".

I really do not know how to explain this without EXPLODING into a fit of rage, but I'll explain it anyway...

Code Lyoko, as much as we don't want it to be, is OVER.The super computer is shut down for good, Xana and Franz are dead, and Aelita is now an orphan.

You keep saying this, but we really don't know for now. This is TV- a show can always be brought back. Whether it's any good afterwards is highly subjective, of course.

It's off. Not wrecked, not wiped, not even password-protected. Just off. Meaning turning it on again, if needed for the plot, is simple.

We think. Franz's been (seemingly) dead before, and XANA is very stubborn.

Even if Franz is dead, Antea is very much unaccounted for.

Like most people have been saying, there are really too many unanswered questions. Although I think that they should do something like Naruto where all of the characters are older in the next season if there is one. A movie would be good as well but its really up to Moonscope whether they do the next season or not.

Yes, Taelia, you keep saying that, and yet, you continue to do it.

Now I'm sorry that I have to play the Mean Ol' Admin, but I'm going to have to ask you for the last time to please try to kindly control your emotions over everything and anything regarding CL's ending, supposed or otherwise, as well as the possibility of a 5th season, again, supposed or otherwise. It is very very annoying that you continually blow up at people or scold them for thinking otherwise than you on these subjects.

As it has been said, no one knows anything for sure, certainly not you and certainly not me. It is all conjecture at this point so I would really appreciate it that you not make statements like the one above. Nothing is certain at this point. Yes, I understand you are sorry, but this honestly has to stop. It does not make discussing these topics fun for anyone else when you do that.

Thank you.

On topic, I'm really not sure what to think about the prospect of CL ending, since as has been said at the moment it appears to be up in the air. Though I haven't seen episode 95 yet in its entirety for myself, from what I've heard and seen, I feel they did a fair job wrapping up the storyline. A flash glimpse into the future would have been cool, but...reminiscing was nice too.

I am divided on the idea of a 5th season. If it is done willingly by the Moonscoop staff and done well, than all power to it. If not...ehhh.... ^^;;

That is very true Tangent128, we think that Franz is dead, but we do not know that for sure. They closed that chapter of the story yes; but there are always possibilites. I am not sure how to go on this subject but I think what ever they decide we should accept, must accept. I guess I am divided on the topic and I will accept whatever happens.

See I'm worried that they WILL make Franz come back to life should they decide to do another season. I liked Franz a lot and I feel bad that Aelita's dad died...but pulling him back to life again seems a bit repetitive to me. Which is why if Moonscoop does choose to make another season I hope, like Mew, it's cause they actually want to go into it again and not for the sake of lengthening the series. I'd rather have a good series wrapped up in four...than a lame fifth season that wraps it up, you know what I mean?

Either way, I'm looking forward to when we'll finally get solid news on whether or not there will be another season or if CL is finally over. :] It'll be cool then, to finally know where the show is going instead of having a whole lot of confusing speculation.

As you say this it's wrong becasue even though the super computer is shutdown someone could find it like Sissi turn it on and when Jeremy sees that XANA is attacking their world then Jeremy will proboly go check out the supercomputer an dsee if XANA launched an attack.

In my personal opinion, what should have happened at the ending of episode 95 was that a young person would walk into the factory 15 years from now. Ulrich and Yumi are married and have 2 kids, Jeremy and Aelita are married and named their only kid Franz, and the supercomputer has met its match in computing power (only by Apple; Microsoft hasn't even come close to this (need an explanation; look at my name)). He turns on the supercomputer, and accidentaly clicks on a file named XANA_INSTALLER.EXE...

You can see where I'm going with this.
I really gotta fix up this theme

What I think we need is a sequel where Real Life Writes The Plot.

It's 2008 for the Lyoko Warriors, and scientific evidence has emerged that their world is the derivative of a cartoon. Attempts to figure out when they're airing, however, reveal one truth to Jeremy:

"This network...is rotting..."

Even through reactivation of the supercomputer, the gang is powerless to do anything about their dwindling viewership. That is, until they come into contact with a man calling himself a Swimigami. His proposition? Make the show a little edgier, a little more irreverent, a lot more appealing to the 13-18 demographic. The team is quick to accept, but are they giving up their souls in the process? And will the change in focus be enough to keep people watching?

I don't think far enough for a Roulette, so we'll constrain it to a Gambit. The Xanatos Gambit (or, to be more punny, the XANAtos Gambit) is Light Yagami's plan to become the Swimigami King by generating the network's largest increase in viewership with a program that flounders with the general public. That and bumping off a good chunk of the other Swimigami sponsoring shows in other universes. Of course, in true shonen fashion, our heroes will be dragged along for the ride. Other cartoon stars and their Swimigami include Chowder (Frylock), Samurai Jack (Mugen or Ichigo Kurosaki - cast your vote now!), and Courage the Cowardly Dog (Saul Malone, of all people).

The last few episodes end in shambles as Light sacrifices himself to destroy Golly Gopher's twin Swimigami - Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. Michael Ouweleen gets his brain fried in the crossfire, CL gets a Complete Series DVD release, and Aelita becomes the Swimigami for the Naruto cast. Y'know, because Energy Field = Rasengan.

EDITED FOR TROPE ACCURACY. If this is awesome enough, I may put up a brainstorming topic in Fan Fiction.

I just hate it when shows end with unanswered questions since it happened with Stargate SG1 and now it has Happened with Code Lyoko. It just makes me mad when that happens.

I don't know how I feel about CL ending, really.

I fell out of the CL fandom for a while, but then I went on Wikipedia and for some reason looked CL up, and found out that the last four episodes were on YouTube. [ o__o ] So I watched those and was thrown back into the fandom, like woah.

While watching those last episodes I was incredibly upset and didn't want them to ever end. I mean, i've watched a lot of new anime's and different series' since Code Lyoko, but I have to admit... The characters on CL were ones that I could really connect with. I may sound like a huuuuuge loser - But I would talk and think of them as they were my friends and I knew them personally. They were/are really special to me, and the ending was goodbye and I didn't like it.

Those last episodes were good. [ Except the lack of UlrichYumi lip lock ] I'll really miss CL, and will always hope or wish that something good could happen. [ Ex. movie, spin off series. ]

I think Odd is right: They'll all get bored in about two weeks, come back and reactivate the computer. Sure it's dangerous, but so is dynamite. So are nuclear power plants. And we still use them. There is much good that could be done for humanity with the powers of the supercomputer. And if that doesn't work out, they can always become a superhero team and fight real world criminals using their digital power-ups.

That sounds fun, though to be honest it probably wouldn't translate into a very good Season 5. It's not really Code Lyoko if there's no Lyoko, and it's just turned into a French "Teen Titans". Cause that's what it'd be, then. Kind of.

I'd add what I'd expect in a S5, but I know there's a thread about that somewhere...eh...eh...

You also have to remember that the whole thing with the men-in-black is still not resolved for they haven't managed to get Franz, but they don't that yet.

The things that were resolved were: XANA's Destruction, Franz's Sacrifice, Shutting down the supercomputer, YxW never gonna happen, YxU gonna happen, moving past Lyoko, Sissi leaving them alone(Though they could have done this earlier and saved a lot of grief).

I had two problems with the ending: This was more of a clip show than an actual episode, and Yumi & Ulrich didn't kiss. This is a sad fact because the closest they gotten was Episode 22 "Routine", which is why my signature is what it is.

For my opinion on Season 5, search the Season 5 thread for my reply.
Fictional Conversation after the Episode "Routine:

Ulrich - "You couldn't wait, could you?"
Jeremy - "What are you talking about?"
*Ulrich grabs and lifts Jeremy by his collar.
Ulrich - "I was this close to tasting her porcelain lips. We weren't in any danger, but noooo! You had to return to the past anyway!"
*Jeremy sniffles as Aelita appears on screen and rolls her eyes
Aelita - Ulrich, put him down.
