Jeremie or Jeremy?

Postby HiddenWatcher » Sun Apr 20, 2008 6:42 pm

This may be a trivial question, but is the character's name spelled Jeremy or Jeremie? This site says Jeremie, Codelyoko.com says Jeremy, and people seem to use both. Which is the right one?

I support Jeremy. Jeremie is too weird.

Jeremie's the French version, Jeremy's the English version.

Or at least that's what I think of on the name variation.

Many people and sites consider both Jeremie and Jeremy to be acceptable spellings, including Lyoko Freak. I personally use Jeremie, because as he is French, his name should be spelled the French way. Also, Jeremie is less boring than Jeremy.

Isn't there already a topic on this...?

Anyways, I prefer Jeremie (the French spelling), as, like 422 stated, he does live in France. Although sometimes I'm not really sure if Moonscoop knows that. xD

If there is, it was probably dead in 2005. Which means that a new topic is probably a good thing.

I personally use Jeremie, cause it's 1) more consistent with the French spelling and 2) cool and foreign-sounding. But, Jeremy is alright too, I guess. It feels weird to type, though. o_o

I like Jeremie better not only because he's french, but it also looks unique. Although "Jeremy" might be more popular way with the french if they look for differant ways to do things, or maybe I just don't know what I am talking about, and am slowly going insane without realizing it.

Back on topic, Jeremie just looks more unique than Jeremy does. [size=7] I wonder if I think this way because i am an unusual american? :umm: )

I support Jeremie. He's French and his name should be written in French form(or maybe Jérémie? :D). Another thing is that you can recognize him among other Jeremies(e.g. I'd never call Mr. Clarkson from Top Gear "Jeremie" XD ) . And as I observe , more people write Jeremie.

Jeremy. Gonna go with the Season 2+ eyecatches on this one.
My SN is spelled Feld, not Field. Keep getting it right, Carth.

I tend to use either one, depending on my mood or how lazy I am. Although honestly, I use Jeremie more than Jeremy.

Jeremie because I'm sure I can spell it right consistantly. I have to double check myself whenever I write Jeremy. I always end up throwing in or taking away some E's in there.

Jeremy, definitely for it is one less letter and quicker to use while writing fanfics. The french spelling I use spordically, but not enough to consider it my favorite.
Fictional Conversation after the Episode "Routine:

Ulrich - "You couldn't wait, could you?"
Jeremy - "What are you talking about?"
*Ulrich grabs and lifts Jeremy by his collar.
Ulrich - "I was this close to tasting her porcelain lips. We weren't in any danger, but noooo! You had to return to the past anyway!"
*Jeremy sniffles as Aelita appears on screen and rolls her eyes
Aelita - Ulrich, put him down.

This is the same situation with the spelling of Millie's name.

Milly or Millie.

Both, in both cases, are acceptable.
