Code Lyoko Orchestra

Postby Gadget » Wed May 07, 2008 2:17 am

What a Copy of an orchestra playing Code Lyoko, I want a copy. Well not really.

Let me explain, about 3 weeks ago I decided to take a bunch of people from My schools band, take them to one of the schools studios, and record each individual one playing “A world without danger” on different instruments. My plan was to take several wind players plus a drummer and Pianist, and mix a Full length orchestral version of “A world without danger”. Well the plan was to start the recording this week, But unfortanly I have had problems with people willing to do it. SO I have decided to change tactics.

Now I want to use the online fans as my Musicians. I want to take at least 10 different people and record them playing “a world without danger” on different instruments. And take all these different people playing it and mix a Full version of it. This is not some simple remixing of “A world without danger”. This is a full Re-recording of it.

Now here is where you come in. I need as many people to do it as I can get. The reason being, its better to have a bunch of different Instruments then just a few. I will use as many as it takes to make it sound good. If you don’t have the sheet music or just want to use it as a reference, you can email me and ask me for it and I will email you a copy.

Now if you wish to participate, there are a couple of simple rules I wish you to try to follow. Use an audio recording program that is actually good, Audacity is a good free one, Do NOT use windows sound recorder or something like it. Do not let the sound clip out. Now for you who don’t know what clip out means, Well when you watch a sound bar go up and down, when it hits the top and turns red it has clipped out, Its hard to explain in just words, but its when the audio is so loud, its making that BLUR sound, anyways look it up if you must. Also try to make sure there is NO background noise. Keep in mind I can only fix a audio clip to a certain degree, if it sounds bad I cant use it.

---------------------------------------------------
Piano- Ok when I say piano I don’t mean keyboard, I mean a real piano. Ok, when recoding, be sure to put the mic at the best spot for sound, on player pianos that would be the back, grand pianos you want it on top, you get it. DO NOT USE COMPUTER MIC, Try to use a fairly decent mic for it.

Keyboard (Electric keyboard)- Its very easy to hook up a Keyboard directly up to a computer, And I promise you can do it very easy for under $20, By just buying some cords and some direct adapters, And I would prefer you do that. But if you must you can use a mic, but I want you to use a fairly good mic for it. Also dont set your keyboard on piano, set it on soemthing else.

Wind- You can use mostly any type of mic to record a wind Instrument, But you want to make sure that your not blowing air towards the mic. I would like you to use a fairly good mic, BUT you can make do with a standard computer mic, but you need to make sure it’s all set up to record fairly well, Depending on your instrument you may need to turn the mic up or down. Trumpets you will have to turn down, While Flutes Might have to turn up

Guitar- (next 2)
Acoustic (non-electric) - for an Acoustic guitar you will need to get a GOOD mic. That’s the only way you can record it, if you use a computer mic it will sound ruff. And I don’t really need to explain how to record with this kind of guitar.

Electric- Some amps have Jacks that allow you to plug straight into computers, But some don’t, If you have one of them that don’t Just get any type of mic and put it by the amp, You may have to turn the amp down quite a lot.

Drums- OK, threes not much I can do for yea, I try to make it simple and cheap for everyone, But I cant do it with the drums, You Have the following choices, Take your drums to a studio (Some school have it), Get a synthetic drum set, Or use a drum/beat machine. Don’t use a computer mic, Period, for this. There is no real way you can make it sound good unless you do one of those.
------------------------------------------------------------

When recording please play at 126 BPM, even if you have your own metronome please use this online one, I would like every one to be playing at the same tempo.
Free Online Metronome- http://www.metronomeonline.com/

Also when recording, don’t have “A world without danger” playing in the background, and also try not to get the metronome beat recorded as well.

After I get as many instruments as I think I need, I will mix it all together and release it online.

WOW, what a long message.

My email (You can use what ever file hoster you wish, just make sure I can get it.  )

GadgetServerNetwork@hotmail.com

Please help me, The other people gave up on me, Don’t do the same.

No violin? Geh. I seriously think it'd be a nice touch. It wouldn't necessarily have the melody (at least not all the time) or could back it up. But, you know, do what ever.

I have wanted an orchestral mix of A World Without Danger for ever. Alas, I have no musical prowess... and I also reccomend that a violin also be used, if possible.

Full orchestra of Un monde sans danger would be gorgeous <3 I composed a quartet version of the ending theme once but .. I don't know what happened to that. xD;

No violin? For shame. :| I'm not being biased <s>HARLHARHAHRHAR</s> but I'm pretty sure it is the beginning notes of the song ;o But... if you ever need one~ I play and have quite a good mic ;D

I play violin; I'll volunteer for it if you want it. Only thing though is that I would need sheet music. I'm not good at improvising. ._.

If you do include violin, I could surely do first violin. I have 6 years experience, I'm at the top of my class, and I was the youngest in the highschool pit orchestra (100% full unchanged score). I could pick up the tune very easily.

I'm a percussion d00d. Unfortunately I have no access to a proper recording setup. >.< But I could possibly use a synthesiser. Recommend any good free ones?

Sweet, Thank you all, I would like all of your help; all you need to do is make a good copy of you playing a world without danger, and email it to me.

And Ok, Maybe I forgot to say violin, if any of you can play it on violin, Email me a recording of it. :music:

As for scores, all I was able to dig up was a copy of it on piano, I got it of codelyoko.net. (If you woudl like a copy just email me at GadgetServerNetwork@hotmail.com)

and As for a drum Machine, I will talk to some of my band friends Friday, and see if they know any good ones.

I downloaded a VST Drum program for MadTracker, I can use that I guess. But really percussion will need all else to be finished in order to make the most appealing rhythm.

Ok, I am back, sorry everyone, My Main desktops master hard drive went bad, so I had to get a new one, and reinstall my OS. :arg:
:arg: :arg:
I Know what you mean Kamekai, As a percussionist myself, After I get the rough cut ready I could email it to you. :music:

But a problem comes up; I have yet had 1 person email me. I post this on the hopes to get some of you to record yourselves playing it, and email it to me. I am officially on summer break now, which means I no longer have access to the college’s studios, so my last hope is you guys. ;__;

I found a good guitar-to-computer USB hookup at Target and also a good Stratocaster, but I can't get it yet.

If I could, I'll record the guitar for the song.

I'd be happy to offer my services as a euphonium player. Sorry I didn't get to this earlier. The main question is, since nobody's come out the woodwork lugging a tuba, do you want me to do a tuba part as well? I have an excellent low range, and it would sound almost exactly like a tuba. If so, I'll record the tuba part as using the left hand part for the piano. If it's not too late i'll try and get it in sometime this week.
