How would we know? It is a fictional entity, hence we do not know exact specifics of the supercomputer. If you talking operating system I'd bet on a heavily modified version of Unix. But more or less everything in the machine is probably custom written as well as built.

It is kind of hard to tell especially when you can't really see the supercomputer code entries whenever they are on Jeremy's screen. I am betting it is a custom-made OS and programming language, seeing as Jeremy can't modify the code to give his friends extra life or better weapons when they need them.
Fictional Conversation after the Episode "Routine:

Ulrich - "You couldn't wait, could you?"
Jeremy - "What are you talking about?"
*Ulrich grabs and lifts Jeremy by his collar.
Ulrich - "I was this close to tasting her porcelain lips. We weren't in any danger, but noooo! You had to return to the past anyway!"
*Jeremy sniffles as Aelita appears on screen and rolls her eyes
Aelita - Ulrich, put him down.

I call it Lynux. And the actual code is in LHTML (Lyoko HyperText Markup Language).
My SN is spelled Feld, not Field. Keep getting it right, Carth.
I has opinions. On things.

Stopped quoting because this is not the games forum.

I believe that it's something basic, such as Linux, that would allow Jeremie to easily pick up the basics without ever having used it before this day.

Linux was rather new back around 1994; also, I'm not sure if X was capable of running that sort of GUI back then.

Perhaps the console was Unix-based, but the Supercomputer probably ran some sort of custom OS that was quantum-enabled.

As far as the PHP seen on the screens... ignore it. For sanity's sake.

Its Pretty much impossible to tell, At first glance you say a Completely custom one of a kind OS, But then you find out everyone one else and there mother on the show have the same OS on there computers, So more then likely it’s a variation on Linux or UNIX, and like what they said, without having the ability so see all the code Jeremy enters into the supercomputer, we cant say what OS it is, This is not the first post I have seen about this topic, if I remember correctly when I use to post a lot about 3 years ago on www.codelyoko.com, this came up several times.

I have had great frustration on what Type of OS the supercomputer uses. :umm: I once said that I was going to make a Version of Linux That Was derived from the OS on the super computer, not look like it as much, But a real OS none the less. I purposed that on TekLinks and I actually started on it, But when school started back up, I didn’t have time, and it slowly faded back into Computer history, Maybe now that school is over, I might Start on “Lyoko OS” again, But only if I feel like it, and on that note, don’t expect me to release it in the near future.

Hmm... maybe once I can get a properly working Linux computer, and learn C/C++'s peculiarities, I could create some Supercalculator Compiz plugins.

I have to Say the Super Computer runs on a Completely custom OS. But it Look Like it could be a Custom Macintosh or a Custom Unix System.

PHP-based Linux? That would be hilarious. xD

Well, I'm sure that if Franz could create the world's most powerful supercomputer & AI, he can program a basic OS, eh? :P

The PHP code makes sense when it comes to connecting to the network. Since Lyoko is suspended in the network, it makes sense that it would use PHP and possibly a database table to keep it in existence and to have so many things going on. I highly doubt that any OS would be used for the computer (although it appears to use the "generic" OS GUI). It probably has a parser to feed binary directly to it.
I'm going to look at some screens of the supercomputer and tell you what functions I can figure out and post them here.
