Just Saw Prince Caspian!

Postby Phoenix Wolf » Fri May 16, 2008 11:53 pm

Hey everyone I just saw Prince Caspian, and it was amazing... Although it was not as close to the book as the first one. Also a word to the wise it is more violent then the first one, and there is a lot more fighting in it... Other then that I loved how they added quotes straight from the book. There are some moments that are purely from the book so book lovers keep your eyes and ears open. I would like to see what you guys think of the movie. I give it three thumbs up for total greatness.

Caspian was probably my least favorite book in the series, for some reason.

I'm still planning to see the movie, though. Will post back whenever I do.
(yeah, the cool links in my old sig died. :( A few nerdy newish projects are here. )

Um Pirates three was violent...

Yeah it is a good movie, but I like the first movie better... This one seemed more violent the first. I thought it was much darker then the first one was. I also noticed that there were several connections bettween LOTR and this movie in the movies like the river scene.

Ehehehe...I don't go to the movies a lot.

Ahem...

SPOILERS

The first scene was much too jarring. I had no idea that Queen Priscilla (yes, she has a name) was...um...giving birth. Plus, the general guy was a complete dumb-fool. "Hey, lets hit him with crossbows from behind a curtian! Everyone knows nobody can POSSIBLY escape before we notice!"

When it came to the names the council guys, I had to go back and check the book for the names because the silly Spanish accents were so dang thick.

At least the acting was up to par in this one. Lucy learned how to pronounce Narnia! Yay! The centaurs were still creepy.

They took the book (Prince Caspian, by CS Lewis), ripped out pages, recycled them, and wrote in brand new crap. It was like listening to your pet dog yowling in Swedish.

The River Scene was lessened in Epicocity-ness.

They threw Aslan in as an afterthought. It was like they finished the movie, realized that if they wanted to at least stop the snipers from attacking they would have to get him (or should I say Him?) in at least once.

Caspian-Susan shipping FTL. if I say any more, I'll start the flaming....

This is, of course, my opinion.

Well, maybe I should tell you what I thought was the silver lining

Reepicheep. The Chuck Norris Ninja Supermouse.

Granted, they messed up his backstory.
(In the first BOOK, if not the movie, the mice became Talking Mice when they had compassion on Aslan's dead body and gnawed away the cords tying Him. Some allegory in there, but I'm too lazy to look for it)

Sorry my post before yours didn't go through I was having Computer issues.. They did mess up the back story you are correct. I did like though how they had lines straight from the book.

I rather liked it. The music was good, the action and effects were awesome...and I suppose the kiss was okay too. I really liked the White Witch scene. :D

Did they put in the part about the attempted assassination of Miraz in his castle? Cuz I checked the book, and I didn't see it. >.>

If it was put in, it was fine. If it was already in the book...ehehe...excuse me while I go break my glasses. ;)

Yeah, 5CR, I don't think it was in the book either. Not that it really mattered, it was a nice addition.

Okay, my only problem... Prince Caspian's accent. Every time he said. "I will save my people" I thought I was going to die laughing. xD

All in all, pretty sweet movie. I loved the end with the water guy (I know he had a name... >.>) and the bridge and whatnot.

Kamekai rates this movie a 9.12/10.

I rate this a Inigo Montoya out of a Inigo Montoya.

Caspian and the Telmarines reminded me of Inigo Montoya.

Guess I should go see it. I've been holding off for no reason whatsoever but everyone keeps saying it was good so I suppose I'll give it a shot.

I'll post my opinion / review as soon as I see it.
