Ember Island Players was... interesting...

So, why do people have a dislike for "The Great Divide" again?

Because it was the filler-iest kind of filler episode there is?

Oh, and I've been recording all the episodes all week so I can sit down Sunday (when I have actual free time) and watch them all in a row, I saw all of them up to Boiling Rock online. After BR, no clue. So don't spoil me, please.

So far, I've watched it all except for the finale. (and the first eleven episodes of Book 3...but I never said that.) Ember Island Players was awesome times infinity, but for Stoney's sake I won't say anything else. (My favorite of the new five, though, has to be Western Air Temple. BadgerfrogxZuko = OTP.)

Avatar, as a whole, is an amazing show that has really smashed the boundaries of what a children's cartoon could be, and I can't wait to see it go out with a bang- or several firey explosions, as it is. I'm really, really excited for the two-hour finale tonight. They're gonna pull out all the stops, I'm sure.

Seven more hours. Asdfghjkl.

Watching the marathon as we speak.

My favorite character is Toph. My new second-favorite is Zuko.

He's been awfully not-obnoxemo lately.

Very nearly. Wonderful blend of drama and comedy.

Also, I AM NOT TOPH. I AM MELON LORD!! needs to become the next meme.

Copied from my TV Tropes Fora posting:

A great blend of humor and drama, though.

But... I'm Lee...

Happy birthday, random Fire Nation dude.

Fortunately for me, my brother's friends were over while we watched this, so we had some great backseat commentary.

START SPOILERS:

After Aang smashes the two pillars together in midair, we're commenting on their shape:
"I knew the X-Men would show up!"

Aang & Ozai get the face-beams:
"Hey! They're calling for Batman!"
...and Aang starts turning all crystally:
"Oh! And the Silver Surfer!"
...glowing red and blue light from both:
"SHARKBOY AND LAVAGIRL!"

"Now Iron Man's gotta turn up somewhere."
"Remember Toph on the airship?"

...
Yeah, we're a little insane.
Speaking of which, my sister started singing "They're coming to take me away, ha ha!" in the middle of the Agni Kai, seeing Azula's state.

Well, she probably got better. All she really wanted was love and acceptance... Zuko (or maybe Ursa) probably gives her a hug once she calms down.</sappiness>

Oh, and TV Tropes Has Ruined My Life. I guessed the island was a turtle as soon as I saw that it moved.

Bleh...

I read a spoiler this past week, and later I realized it was true after checking other sources. x_x

But it was great. :D

Meh...why does it have to eeeeennnnnnnnnnnddddd......

Spoilers (or spoiler rant, whatever):

And they never really said anything about Zuko's mother besides Zuko asking his father where she was; that's what kinda disappointed me. I mean, even Nickelodeon said that all the questions will be answered in more than one of their commercials.

Azula...just lost it, to put it mildly. She should really seek mental help. Maybe she could go see Dr. Sokka or something. But I actually felt sorry for her when she started crying.

I'm glad that thankfully it was KataraxAang instead of KataraxZuko. I don't know...there have just been a lot of random hints, mostly in the past two episodes before the finale. But thankfully it turned out well.

One of the other things I was curious about is what happened to Jet. I mean, the question came up in The Ember Island Players, but they weren't sure what happened to him all the way back in Lake Laogai. They could have said something to answer it. Oh well.

All in all, it was a great episode overall. Although I'm not sure whether to look forward to the Avatar live-action movie or not that's coming up in the next few years.

I, too, watched the marathon today, because I got off my day job early. Loved Southern Raiders so much. And Ember Island Players was good at the start, and petered out as it went along. Then, the finale. Edge of seat fun the whole time. No real big complaints, really; it all seemed plausible. Just a few minor gripes:

1. Why could the turtle speak when no other creature in the Avatar-verse use the human tongue?

2. I want closure! Where's Azula? And Ursa? And did Toph reconcile with her family? And...

3. Why do creators always feel the need to weigh in on the shipping? I don't mind Kattang, it's cute. But ending the show with a dramatic music spike and a long full-frontal snog-fest is a bit much.

But, overall, a worthy end to a series I will miss. Of course, now that it is over, I may start to write fanfics for it without worry of the end contradicting what I write.

What if?!?! I would be supprised if he didn't. Heck in his mind Momo is more important than Aang! He is crazy strong though, you have to admit. That and Iroh is a beast.

...I started watching this show when it first came out, saw the entire first season.

I saw half the Second Season, but that's why we have Turbonick.

I saw all I could get outta the thrid, cept the sword-guy episode, because IT DOESN'T WORK.

All I can say is, I hope they get the entire show on turbonick before they dump it completely.

Oh, and, do you really think they're gunna let such a good cash cow like Avatar die? There are those live-action moves (O-o), probably another toy-line run, and...yeah. I doubt it's ove for good.

Yeah, but those will apparently be rehashing the story. (One movie per season or something I hear, which is ridiculous.)

Another series set, say, 20 years later would be fun. Follow some different characters, but show what the existing ones are doing with their post-epic-heroing lives. (Mostly, I'd want to see Fire Lord Zuko with a beard.)

...o.o

Okay, if they're gonna restate the seasons and all that, then I'm not watching the movies.

Well...I may just to see what I can get out of it. x.x

Anyway, going back to the finale..

If all it took for Aang to unlock his ninth chakra (or seventh...really can't remember at the moment >.>) was to hit his wound/scar on a rock, then I don't see why it took him so long to do that. -.-

Oh, and Sozin's Comet seemed to be almost a complete contrast to The Day of Black Sun. Even with 30-50 or so people in the invasion, they lost. I mean, I understand that the Fire Nation had the advantage because Azula expected them, but technically since they lost, wouldn't they also expect them RIGHT BEFORE the comet came? And it only took three people to take out the airships, jeez. And then two to defeat Azula.

It's just...

Bleh. It seems to just be kinda unbelievable that such a small number of people can bring the bad people of a nation to their knees. But again, it's the finale, so I guess something like this was bound to happen.

Oh...and yeah, going along with what Stonecreek said, they still haven't answered those three things. And now that the series is over I can't see any other way to. -.- I mean, how hard is it to add a short scene with Toph reconciling with her parents? They could have even been in the crowd at the end (Zuko's coronation) or something. And then it would only take about 20 seconds more for both Ozai to answer Zuko's question and for a short scene about Azula's current position to be shown. And then...maybe about 30 seconds or more to possibly show Zuko's mother doing...something.

Bleh.

And I agree with that. Personally I have no idea what Zuko would look like with a beard, so it would be interesting to see. :D

I LOVE this show! I watched both season 1 and 2 last year on TVlinks (which is no longer around) online. My timing is always off to watch shows when they air so I have to watch them online most times. I haven't seen any from season 3 yet.

"Watch Avatar"? Okay I'll use that phrase because I have typed in other things and haven't found it.

I didn't like the Turtle-thing in the season finale, but otherwise, it was pretty good.

Of course, I had my OWN ending: http://sithking-zero.deviantart.com/art/The-End-of-Avatar-91941583 XD

Well, finally saw the ending...sorta. Youtube is good for 30 minute stuff, but not 2 hour stuff- especially if you have to watch 6 people's disjointed AMVs to get most of the story.

As for Azula being Miss Psycho-Lady of DOOM even more than usual, I think it was the comet. Yeah, that's it the comet! And the position of responsibility...

I saw like 3 things they could use to reboot Avatar, but I doubt they will-at least for a while. Nick treats its shows better than CN.

Oh yeah, definitely. But it may be because the shows are closer linked to Nickelodeon itself; I've kinda noticed that. I'm not completely sure how, but the shows seem more affiliated with Nickelodeon than with a private company that produces it. (Least I haven't heard of any that do.) CL is barely affiliated to CN except for the fact that CN airs (aired) it.

And I think veoh or somewhere may be a better place to find Avatar episodes. People on YouTube have no life and post AMVs under the name of an episode, and get shot from the angry fans trying to watch the real episode. -.-

I haven't checked veoh for the finale though, so you may just want to try "watch avatar the last airbender sozin's comet finale" or something under Google. Hopefully something will show up.
