Question for Lyoko Freakers who have Nintendo Wii

Postby DarkestSoul X21 » Mon Jul 21, 2008 1:51 am

Hey everyone. I am thinking of getting a Wii the next time when I get paid. I already have a 360 and PS3, Which I use them daily. My main goal is to get all the next gen consules. But I'm wondering if the Wii is worth it. What can you do with the Wii? What are the best games? Besides Wii Fit and Super Smash Bros.

Thanks in advance.

Mario Galaxy is a decent platformer.

Super Paper Mario is... some sort of platformer-rpg mashup, but in any case has a dramatic and comedic story.

Rayman Raving Rabbids is at least worth renting.

Twilight Princess is weaker than some Zeldas, but still a good game in general.

And of course, Virtual Console lets you pick up any classic games you missed / got rid of.

Oh, and Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People should be out soon.
(yeah, the cool links in my old sig died. :( A few nerdy newish projects are here. )

Miis are fun.

If you played the first one, the sequel to Tales of Symphonia is coming out sometime later this year, like November or something. :Db

It's completely up to you to decide if the Wii is "worth it" or not.

I personally would get it soley for Super Smash Brother's Brawl, as I've played it, and look forward to playing it online.

Other games I look forward to playing on the Wii are Super Mario Galaxy, and Star Wars: Force Unleashed. I would go on explaining my reasons, but this isn't a Wii discussion thread, and I don't have the time or effort to do so right now.

I recommend getting a Wii, but I believe that my opinion should not affect your decision <S>'cause this is srs bzness here ):<</s>.

I wouldn't recomend a wii unless you want to spend time with your family. Thats really all its good for. My freind tells me that the quality is bad (ie something you don't want to use on a projector) and the games suck. You have the most awsome game systems out there right now (where on earth are you getting the money from?!?!?!), so try making a game collection not an antique collection.

I wouldn't say the games suck... But most of them are gimmicky/multiplayer based. there are some gems though. Mario Galaxy, Legend Of Zelda, No More Heroes....

The virtual console is a huge plus if you like old games like me, but don't like dealing with faulty consoles.

Mowing lawns. People say I do a very good job so I get like $20 a job. Plus I have two 360s. I'm more into the PS3 than the 360 so I'm planning on selling one of the 360s with most of the games I have (around 18 games) and a memory stick for about $250. I was going to save the money for a car but unless gas goes down, I won't even think about getting a car for myself.

EDIT: Yea I know the Wii is a family system. Well my mom really wants it. She's a Nintendo fan. She's in a wheelchair and has kidney diasis (sp?) and mostly the times she goes out is for her kidneys or a doctor appt. She knows she can't do a lot of stuff that she used to. But she really wants to be a good mom and hangout with me and my brother. So now I'm just raising money.

Smash Brothers Brawl alone is worth it.

Oh, and I made and posted a Mii of every main Code Lyoko character.

All of them now have a full five-star popularity rating. Do you guys wanna see?

I think Code Lyoko: Quest for infinity is a great game for the wii. But it could have been better. Anyone else agree.

Mario Kart Wii is mad fun, especially with the steering wheel thing. makes the game more difficult but so much more fun.

Legend Of Zelda is a good play through.

NO MORE HEROES! If there is only one single player game you can own make it NO MORE HEROES!

I agree, No More Heroes is a seriously awesome game. It's got one of the craziest stories and character designs I've seen in a while.

Other good games I recommend are The Godfather and the Trauma Center series.

Nobody's suggested Mario Galaxy?

Super Paper Mario is good if you like plot+platformers. And funny.

Was Super Mario Galaxies mentioned?

Metroid Prime 3 is really fun.

Also....if you have a Gamecube, keep the controllers handy so you don't have to buy Classic controllers.

I have a nice Wii game collection, and the games I recommend on getting are definetely Mario Kart Wii and the Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity game.
The Wii supports wireless internet, and if you want a faster connection, you can purchase a USB to RJ-45 cable adapter.
Games aside, it also has a weather-channel like app which shows the current weather conditions in your zip code. Also, there is a news app which shows worldwide news. Then, the Wii Store is worth checking out. There are some nice games there, as well as some programs to complement the Mii Channel.
I really gotta fix up this theme
