My French is mediocre at best, but I read "the novels at last!" on there.

So... joy!

As for everything else, I'd rather have someone better at French take a crack at it than mess up at it myself.

I <s>tried to</s> pieced the French words together, and what optimus writes is true. According to CL.fr, there is a Code Lyoko MMORPG in the works, slated for release in 2010, with random other French words that my limited ability cannot piece together.

Mostly, the article is about that Code Lyoko: Reloaded game for the PSP, I think.

Wait, there's a PSP game in the works?

Better question: is The Game Factory behind the wheel again? Fall of XANA left a bad taste in my mouth and it took five or six solid months of Super Robot Wars and Metal Gear to wash out.

Speaking of which, why hasn't someone considered the MGS engine as a jumping-off point for a CL platformer (QFI just isn't the same, IIRC), or at least written fanfic where Jeremy and Aelita form their own Philanthropy-style organization to root out and destroy rogue A.I. constructs?

Sounds interesting. I can read some of the more obvious words, but I can piece together Japanese better than French. I checked out the PDF. Though it is a report from October 2008, it said on page 28/29 that they were working on a Liveaction Series.

Though past industry history would say that never works. A Cartoon Series turned into a Liveaction Series and vice versa hasn't yielded much success.

On the positive side, the books should be coming to the US or at least have an english translation. So we'll wait and see, which I know it never easy, but oh well. :)
Fictional Conversation after the Episode "Routine:

Ulrich - "You couldn't wait, could you?"
Jeremy - "What are you talking about?"
*Ulrich grabs and lifts Jeremy by his collar.
Ulrich - "I was this close to tasting her porcelain lips. We weren't in any danger, but noooo! You had to return to the past anyway!"
*Jeremy sniffles as Aelita appears on screen and rolls her eyes
Aelita - Ulrich, put him down.

This is what I'm mostly interested in. I've never been a part of the MMORPG crowd, and to be honest I don't see how one could work, since a big angle of the CL world is that only our five heroes know what's going on... will it be set in a sort of Terminator Salvation-esque future where the threat of XANA is evident to the entire world, and the young adult versions of the former Lyoko Warriors have to teach the players to take part in the resistance? I'm not too crazy about the live-action version, either, since I've come to know the characters as 'toons and the live performers will just seem like posers to me.

As for the PSP game, I don't have one, so make of that what you will. I liked the Wii game, though. Sort of.

This looks like a press kit, or a selling thing or something, especially since they give character bios (William's is lacking *cough*). But this brings up two questions. One, who are they trying to sell CL to, in 2009? And two, will they EVER get any better stock art of Jeremie? That image on the front page really needs to die. Just saying.

MMORPG sounds intriguing. I'd like to see if that goes well...or how they choose to interpret it. If that ever comes to term, per se, I'd want to check it out.

At this point, I'd say that any insistence that "CL is dead" can be kicked in the head. Even if the main show has ended, someone out there in the universe clearly wants something else to happen with it, whether or not that actually happens. I could've seen that in the novels (can't quite figure out the French...are they out over there?) and MMORPG, and been done with it.

But it was this on page 28 of that article, and earlier up in the tread (sorry, saw that later) that REALLY caught me by surprise.

Article (english improved) wrote:- Code Lyoko Live Action Series

- Sitcom part in live action, incorporating 3D effects
- 3D portion with new design and features

If they go through with this Code Lyoko live action sitcom, this will be my only reaction:

I ran the site through Google Translate. Here's the link, though it does have broken English, of course:

http://translate.google.com/translate?p ... ry_state0=

This and that possible hint in the Tara Duncan video could mean that Moonscoop has listened to their fans and are going to r already are making a 5th Season.
I don't count on it being on Cartoon Network, though. I don't think Mr. Snyder likes it. Think about it. The show suddenly stopped airing new episodes at episode 88, which was sometime in late 2007, not too far from when Snyder stepped in. In early 2008, it got a poor slot at 6:00AM/3:00AM, and then it was removed altogether. Someone else would probably pick it up, most likely Disney XD. I don't see Nickelodeon picking it up, much less treating it well if they did.

Wow. I didn't read that PDF previously, but that broken translation threw me through a loop.
And a sitcom!? That won't sit well with us hard-core fans.

Interesting find, although "we hardcore fans" as Applefreak said, already know all the info about the show :D Overall a nice, convincing ad and warm words about the fandom... thanks Taffy!
Live action sitcom... I have mixed feelings towards that. I'd rather our heroes stayed in their animated forms.

PS. The pic from page 21 is a great wallpaper.

By "sitcom", they seem to just be referring to the real-world section. They use the same term to refer to the existing 2D sections in the PDF.

It also mentioned a strong fanfiction community as support of the show's strong backstory. :P

My money says Disney Ex-Dee picks it up. They have X-Men: Evolution now, and CL could be a logical addition.

As long as they're recycling old Cartoon Network-aired shows, I mean.

I hope it won't be Disney X.D. cause I don't have that channel...lol.
Or at least Disney overall.

They should put it on CW4Kids. CW is a local channel that every state and city should have. CW4Kids is just a Saturday-morning block. I think CL will make a good addition to that block.

Or they should try the Sci-Fi channel. They play Anime on there sometimes. If they play Anime, I don't think CL will be a problem even though it's not an anime.

Code Lyoko on 4Kids?
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

I hate to think about what might be done to it if it ever got in the hands of them.

We can hope Cartoon Network starts airing it again, and airs the final episodes of S4, these movies, the Reloaded thing, and the possible 5th Season.

I can guarantee it will get better ratings than junk like The Othersiders.

I didn't know the Liveaction series was going to be a sitcom. When I read this, I couldn't help but think.

Yumi baking in a kitchen wearing an apron. Ulrich opens the kitchen door.

Ulrich - "Honey, I'm home."
Yumi - "Ulrich dear, how was fighting XANA today?"
Ulrich - "Didn't show. What are you making? Smells delicious."
Yumi - "They are my best Rice Dumplings. Have a taste, sweetie."
Ulrich takes one off the tray and eats it.
Ulrich - "Yum...jeez, honey. That was swell."

I know it is corny and in the 1950s, but you got to admit that is kinda of funny. This is my reaction of them taking a series as good as Code Lyoko and making it into something it's not.

Jeremy - "What are you talking about?"

I'm sure we can all agree a 5th Season of the good ol' regular show would be far better than a live action sitcom.

A live action MOVIE, maybe. As long as it wasn't poorly casted and was filmed at College Lakanal, the school that Kadic is modeled after.

Again, they refer to the existing 2D scenes as "sitcom" as well. I think they just mean, "CL, with Live Action instead of 2D".

I doubt it would work as well as the anime (where are our foreheads?!), but it's not a genre shift they're talking about.

Sweet Jesus, if they make an honest to goodness sitcom out of CL, I'll hand in my Kankrelots.

But, because that <s>probably</s> won't happen...live action CL....hmmm
