Anyone care to donate to the Trillinka fund? :P I accept taped episodes of Code: Lyoko, both seasons! lol

You shouldn't be embarrassed by the fact that you watch a cartoon. Cartoons were originally created as adult entertainment and shown before movies. I don't think the first animators ever imagined that it would become a "kid genre". The Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry cartoons were originally intended to be adult pre-movie entertainment, not "kiddie stuff". There's no shame in watching cartoons as an adult. That was the original intention for them way back when the first cartoons came to be. ^_^

What you say is true, but sadly cartoons are mostly associated to kids. And when you grow up, some just tend to leave it behind. What's even worse is that most of the cartoons are kiddie-oriented, despite the theme n the show. And I clearly understand Trillinka on her points about being ashamed of watching cartoons. Impressions from other people. I'm more of the kind of person who would prefer to watch something in real life form than cartoons (except if it's something kinda old or something really worthy as CL, but I still struggle with the kid-rating thing, which I do hate). It's not the same watching Evangelion that watching CL. It's about ratings, impressions and other stuff...

I was just at Lyokocode, and they already have a summary of the second episode posted. can't get through to Altavista to translate it, though... There was some stuff about Franz hopper and the fifth territory.

Hey, just saying that is definately good news! Most of us will be excited for it, but more excited the Pokemon friend I know.

:D Now just who could that be...? ;)

Either way, thanks for the tip HvonM!! I went over there and found the synopsis. I shall translate the bulk of it here, so SPOILER ALERT below! ^_^

"Unchartered Territory"

Aelita wakes up startled in her dorm at Kadic. She's awoken from a dream, the same dream that's been haunting her since the previous episode (the one of the house and the mysterious person). Meanwhile, Ulrich and Odd are in their own dorms discussing the strange info Jeremie's recently found; in a nutshell, the mysterious house that Aelita found was the retreat of an old Kadic science professor, Franz Hopper ( ^^ ). The scene switches back to Aelita who's waiting in line to use the shower. Sissi arrives and tells her there's another shower on this level that's open. Aelita heads for that one, unaware that Sissi's playing a mean trick on her. The empty shower room is the boy's shower room. Luckily, Ulrich and Odd are there and manage to save her from further embarrassment. Jim arrives and further straightens out the situation but not before Sissi and her gang get the chance to laugh at Aelita's misfortune.

Meanwhile, Jeremie's searching for information on Franz Hopper. He sends Ulrich and Odd to the school library to look for info on him while he searches the net. After finding nothing, Jeremie then decides to revisit the mansion from the first episode to see what he can find there. He finds little of interest and nothing relating to Lyoko. He does, however, find a book on the history of the Punic War and decides to take it with him. During this time, Aelita is in the cafeteria trying to get something to eat, but she's unsure of what to pick (she's hardly ever eaten in a cafeteria before). With the rest of the students behind her growing impatient, she leaves sadly without eating, a situation made even worse by an encore of Sissi and her teasing. Utterly frustrated and unable to find anyone kind to talk to (Jeremie's away, Ulrich and Odd are in the library and Yumi's in the cafeteria eating and chatting with William), Aelita heads instead for the Factory and virtualizes herself back to Lyoko to be alone.

Not much later, Jeremie, Ulrich and Odd realize Aelita is missing when she doesn't return for class with Mrs. Hertz after lunch. Sissi tells them that Aelita said she was going back to Canada where she felt she belongs. Immediately Jeremie, Ulrich, and Odd excuse themselves ("Infirmary") and head for the factory, since Jeremie guesses at what really happened. They find Aelita in Lyoko, but a squadrom of Bloks are now pursuing her. Jeremie virtualizes Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi (who arrives from school), but they are stopped from helping Aelita right away by a couple of Krabes. Aelita meanwhile is trapped by the two Bloks but is saved when a mysterious sphere with a XANA eye in the center transports her away, still very much frightened. While his friends deal with the Krabes, Jeremie finds a weak signal from Aelita. Attached with the signal is the message "Welcome to Carthage" and the demand for a password. Jeremie recalls the history book he found in the mansion and attempts to find the password. He also gives Team Lyoko their vehicles when they are attacked again, this time by Hornets.

Still searching for the password, Jeremie recalls that in the book about the Punic Wars, in order to invade Carthage, one had to destory and cross the city's walls. Jeremie remembers that it was Scipion who destoryed the walls and types in the password "Scipio" ("Scipion" in Latin). The password is accepted and the XANA sphere/bubble returns and transports Team Lyoko to the 5th territory where Aelita has been exploring. Unfortunately, Aelita has also encountered a new XANA monster, a sort of tentacled, Medusa-like, squid monster that can absorb computer memory, a truly dangerous monster for Aelita. Luckily, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi arrive and rescue Aelita from it and manage to destroy the monster as well. They attempt to leave the area but all of the doors close on them. Jeremie, however, types in the "Scipio" password and the XANA Sphere arrives and transports them all back to the Forest Region, and close to a deactivated tower as a bonus. Aelita heads for the tower to re-materialize herself, while Jeremie devirtualizes Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi (they don't need to use a tower to do so).

Back in the dorms at Kadic, the group discusses the recent journey into Lyoko and the 5th region. Jeremie believes that the new monster was after Aelita, not to destroy her, but to acquire information from her. Yumi and Ulrich offer to go back and explore the 5th region more, but Jeremie refuses, saying that it's entirely uncharted and unstudied territory and therefor exceedingly dangerous for the time being. Quietly, Aelita says that she'll gladly go back to Lyoko for the time being; she doesn't want to get in anyone's way and embarrass anyone anymore (obviously re-calling her earlier faux pas regarding the boy's shower). Jeremie asks her not to and also promises to spend more time with her, feeling sorry for ignoring her the entire day with his "Franz Hopper" research. Odd offers to go and get some revenge for her on Sissi, but "speak of the devil" she walks into the room. The resulting conversation goes as follows:

Sissi: Oh, isn't this just the perfect picture of a happy family. (to Aelita) I see you've succeeded in finding one, hmmm, Ms. Einstein? (lol)

Ulrich: Yeah, while you were taking your third shower for the day.

Sissi: Oh, but you know Ulrich, that a rare and beautiful flower like myself needs lots of water to grow.

Aelita: (before Odd can even open his mouth)...True...and perhaps one day it'll get your brain to grow.

The episode ends with a surprised bout of laughter from the group. End.

:D Another really good episode! I'm impressed that this episode is one of those rare episodes that doesn't include a true XANA attack, but XANA simply reacting to an opportunity presented to him (a la "Frontier" and "Code: Earth" ). I'm also really happy to see that XANA bubble explained and that we get to see the 5th region only 2 episodes into the season! Awesome!! And nothing beats an ending like that. XD

You mean "Lyoko"? That was the last name Yumi gave her in "Code: Earth", I thought.

Or do you mean "Einstein"? That was Sissi joking, I believe.

Either way, thanks very much! ^_^

Oh you mean Hopper? Or Hooper? As in, the rumor that she's actually the Lyoko creator's daughter? I saw that info once on an MSN group fan page...LyokoCode has it to (credited to the self-same MSN group). I'm not quite sure what to believe about that though...MSN groups have yet to have reliable info on them but there's always the chance...

Huh. Season 2 looks interesting. Seems that the "What is with that house?" is the Code: LYOKO main plot this time around, although it seems to be much more prominent than the "materialize Aelita" one from previous seasons. I don't want them to go overboard with the new gadgets and such; that'll probably fade by the second string of episodes or so.

Isn't CN releasing season 2 all at once, like they did with season one? I've heard rumors that the American VA's were recording the voices as early as March. .

And part of the reason Aelita looks strange is because of how long her face is now. It bugs me a little, but still.

But I'm more interested in those four clips of one of the episodes from mid-season. Fifth territory like woah!

And has anyone seen the new Code: LYOKO opening? Dizzying.

I'm not so sure if it's the house that's the big thing for season 2...I think it's more "What's up with Aelita's past and her connections to that house and Lyoko". The house is the trigger for it all though, so it seems.

I'm not exactly sure how CN is releasing Season 2. They're airing new episodes the entire week of the 19th...but they haven't released a schedule for CL past that. I guess at this point it'll be a wait and see. Interestingly enough, I believe Ms. Forrest told us they were still recording voices for the episodes, and would wrap in October. It's really anyone's guess at this point how it will be released.

You've nailed one of the reasons why Aelita looks different. Good catch! ^_^ She actually resembles Taelia more now than she did before, I believe.

Heh...we get to see the 5th territory in the second episode of the season. And I believe the third is also centered around it. I can't wait to see them fighting monsters and stuff in it. :D

And yep, I've seen the new theme! It's really cool! ^^

Nice part of the 2nd episode for Season 2. I'm looking forward to watch it... so there's a bit more of Yumi/William... interesting... lmao at Aelita's final quote,..

I do think the house thing is going to be just for some episodes, and that's it, maybe...

Aelita Stones... Mick Jagger's daughter? J/k... Mick Jagger has bunch of children spreaded around the planet...

*facepalm* Yes, that's what I meant--Aelita's connection with Lyoko rather than the house. That's what I get for typing messages at one in the morning!

Aaah, I see. Well, I hope the show can be put on quickly instead of being delayed over and over again--ie Teen Titans. The wait for Aftershocks were months long, grr.

It's not that her face is longer as it's abnormally long, in my opinion. I can't quite remember what Taelia looks like and my tapes are... somewhere (grr stupid moving vans), but even compared to Taelia, Aelita's face seems a little stretched out. Before she had this pixie look, and now she's sporting a stronger resemblance to Ulrich with the long face. Maybe it's because her facial features are spread out a little more? I need to stop obsessing about this.

And huh. Those four minute French clips must've been from a different point in the season, then. (What's with me and weird information? I blame this on friends.) I wonder if there will be more new monsters in there or not--it'd be awesome if there were fifth territory exclusive monsters.

It's a nice opening! Very confusing, although it suits the theme song well.

Hmmm...I'm going to link pictures of Aelita materialized (season 1), Taelia, and Aelita materialized (season 2). Now, looking at these, it can be seen that Aelita materialized (season 1) has a facial shape that matches Jeremie's more than anyone else's. Taelia's facial shape is longer with a chin more like Ulrich's, as you pointed out. The same is true of Aelita materialized (season 2). In fact...if it weren't for the hair color and the difference in outfits...they'd look almost exactly the same. It's kind of spooky really...they looked similar enough before... :toomuch:

I believe that the four 5th region videos that came from LyokoCode were either animation test runs of the 5th region (animated sequences used to test aspects of the CGI animation and to see how well the characters can interact and fit in with the setting), or are scenes from "Exploration" (the third episode in the season), in which it is likely the group further explores the 5th region. These seem the two most likely possibilities at this point, but we'll have to see the actual episode to be sure, and the entire season to be absolutely positive of it. ^^

Huh.

...Aelita has big hair. I don't know why I just thought that, but big hair + more shading (whoo, animation budget went up?) + new face = DUDE ARE YOU REALLY TAELIA?

That does make a person wonder what happened to her, though. Maybe she transfered out, heh.

Mm. I think they're scenes from an episode that will hopefully be coming in with the first run of new episodes, myself. Please don't let them just appear out of no where. I want STORY.

I don't envy the folks who have the job of animating the Lyoko gang on the computer. I mean, geeze. (It's a good thing the two styles blend pretty well; feels more natural.) I can't wait for all of season 2 to come by. I'm dead from anticipation.
