Walmart DOES carry everything!!!???

BTW..The 2nd French DVD came with a pack of Trading cards (which I didn't open, maybe I should) and some ad's inside for the Comic and info on downloading Ringtones for your cell.

The English DVD #1 came with a cool looking insert conating storyboards used to make the episodes. On the back is an Ad for the next DVD #2 to be released Dec. 20th 2005 and a spot about ACTION FIGURES!!!! (Release Date FALL 2006)
No I'm not ULRICH's VA so please stop PM'ing me questions! ;)

The Walmarts here have nothing. The only thing Walmart is good for in my opinion is cheap CDs.

Must....have....^^ But, if they do make figurines...I hope that Palisades makes/sells them...they did a lovely job on the IZ figurines.

How much do you want to bet though that the Yumi toy would be the "shooter" toy, Ulrich would be the "action figure"-like toy, and Jeremie (with his computer), would be the "view-finder" kind of toy. :D Not sure what they'd do for an Odd toy...or an Aelita one. Odd could be the "archtype" water gun toy (all of them in Lyoko form by the way) but Aelita...hmmm. Ooo! And for the "plushie"...KIWI! Or Lyoko Odd, now that I think of it. ^^;

Press a button behind Yumi's back and make her shoot her fan: Sure!!
Ulrich as action figure, it's definately sure... of course, if that ever happens. My thought was sort of hilarious, I must say. Odd as water gun toy from his Overboard, but the Overboard would have to be bigger (and the other toys as well)... for Aelita, I think it could also be action-figure type like Ulrich, but she could ride the Overwing.

And don't forget XANA henchbots, lol....

Teddygozilla plushie?

Vehicle wise, I'm assumimg Yumi and Aelita will get an Overwing each, at least for the toys.

Maybe Jeremy could be one of those really cheap computer games?

Ulrich... Well, Ulrich would have to be a three pack by himself...

A video game? This is what I get for jumping off for a day... I already want it. :D

I wonder how much DS's cost right now... well, maybe I'll have enough money by the time it comes out... or it could always be realsed on a different platform, which would own.

*sigh* I need to get a job or something... xD

When I called one of my Local Best Buy's they said they have the Code Lyoko DVD for 9.99 :D

At that price I can afford to buy it easily. I think it's cheaper even than Amazon. :)

= = =
Guess what though . . one Wal-Mart I visited actually had Invader Zim . . all three DVD volumes bundled together for a reasonable price.

Too bad they don't seem to carry Code Lyoko though. :(

Merchandise info! :D *woots* Courtesy of the French and English Amazons. ^_^

They've officially released a picture of the US DVD 2's cover (which can also be seen on the first DVDs insert. You can see it here.

Amazon.fr has a new CL book out. This one appears to be a novelization of the episode "Clap de Fin (End of Take)". I think it might be told through the alternate points of view of Team Lyoko, but for sure Jeremie narrates at least some of it. Information on the book and ordering it can be found here. While the cover can be seen here.

So this is different than those comic style books I bought? That would be neat. The books I bought are just screen shots with captions like a comic strip.

Yep, those are the Ani-Manga books. There's one out in the US, and two in France at the moment. These new ones coming out though appear to focus on one episode exclusively, and don't have the "cine-manga" stamp on them, so I'm almost 99.9% sure they're novelizations, although in French. ^_^

*raises a suspicious eyebrow*

Sound very familiar to me. First William and now this. I better be expecting a royalty check sometime soon. If not I'll just keep watching the episodes like the good little fan I am.

However, is anyone here concerned with the actual annoucements for the video game? As we know, games based off of movies/tv shows have been been so hot as the game companies focus more on obtaining the liscence rather than the actual gameplay. While a bad game isn't the kiss of death for a series, it can tranish the image a bit to the general public.

Eh? *confused look* If anything the way these books are likely to be written reminds me of the MegaMorphs novels from the Animorphs series. All the characters taking turns narrating particular events...I think quite a few "Team/Friendship" shows have done that with their novelizations. XD I look forward to Ulrich's thoughts while he tries to talk Finson out of filming at the Factory. :*D

Hmm...I really can't see how you could go wrong with a Code Lyoko game...since Lyoko itself is a game more or less. ^^; The easy route would be an RPG/platformer with some mini games, maybe, for fun. What those mini games would be, I'm not quite sure, but I can't see how a bad game could tarnish CL's image. It's not largely publicised (although it's fan base is very large), so there's not as much "media" pressure to be good. Just fan pressure. :D

And I know I'll probably end up liking the game even if it is simple or slightly "lame". I'm a pretty poor gamer anyway, and just having the novelty of playing as Odd or Ulrich and being able to shout "Laser Arrow" or "Impact" would be fun enough for me. Or playing as Yumi and going "Hi-YAAAH!!!" XD Oh...I can see it now. ^_^

Not all games that derived from movies or tv series have been good.

Oh, and I'm betting myself CL could be more like RPG or Action/Adventure game. Or some game with goals to do before gaining access to Lyoko or while at Lyoko... get the idea?

Essentially it was a joke on how the Retelling Series and the second season of Code Lyoko are running parallels with one another. First off, William shares many physical qualities (overall looks, choice in colors, clothing somewhat) to that of Jin Ishiyama from my story. Not to mention they're now novalizing their episodes with new points of view like what I've been doing now for about a year.

Of course these similarities are purly coincidental and I am in no way, shape or form accusing the creators for taking ideas from my fic (though I did send it to them out of respect and to see if I could get it into the fan fiction section of their main page)

Yeah, I've heard of it (the Jin and William comparison, thanks to Vili). Although, there's no way you're gonna get a check for it. Maybe donations... or just a vane thank you. Anways...

thanks you guys for all the info about where to buy these Dvds. I would never have found out on my own. It's like pulling teeth to get a copy , even on VHS, of any of the episodes from the company, and I was lucky my parents taped some in the US last summer. It would be a good thing to have, obviously on my demo. As you know we are cheated out of any residuals or percentages on reruns and Dvd sales! Kind of a huge mega bummer, really.

I don't have a Zone One player, but I can play it on the computer, and sample a few scenes, hopefully, for my demo.

The way they do things here in France is weird for us anglo VA's. we don't get french residuals 'cause our versions of the series doeswn't get shown in France. And there's no legislation for the International exports, so we get sc--wed. You 'd think that the production company would try to make it up somehow but they don't because it's not in their budget either... It's the TV stations I think that pay residuals, so we just drop into a no man's land that suits everyone...'cept us! It doesn't take away the fun of doing this series, tho. Obviously!

XD Novelizations are almost always done from the characters' points of view though. This one looks like it might be done in 1st person though, a la Animorphs, which would make it different from Retelling. Something to the extent of:
"My name is Jeremie, an eight grade genius at Kadic Academy. I've found a way to send my friends Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd to a virtual world called Lyoko. It's not exactly a vacation though. We have to fight XANA, and evil virus who wants to destory the Earth. Can you keep the secret?"
(Some of this text is translated from the book's back cover).

I think I might order this, just to see what it's like. I'd love to see Odd's thoughts, should they have a chapter in his POV. :*D

You're very welcome, Ms. Weber-Scaff! ^_^ That's terrible that they won't give you residuals for your work though! On the reruns especially! It's shameful! :arg: At least all of you still have fun with the series despite that though.
