New BKO Policy

Postby Star Way » Sun Oct 09, 2005 11:02 pm

Keeping up with updating the BKO-allow list is really hard, especially when I have things going on in my own life and can't pay such close attention to this place. So, here's what we'll be doing from now on.

Yes, BKO is still going to be friends-grouped. Sorry to those of you who were hoping it might stop being so. :P But instead of me keeping up with all of the new members and their post counts/join dates/etc... you will keep track of your own.

When you have reached the requirements (30+ posts, have been a member for 1 week, and are at least 13) you must send me a PM and I'll quickly evaluate your stats to make sure you're telling the truth, and if you pass I'll add your name to the list.

Further details...

Sound good?
Don't bother sending me messages or anything, I'm not in charge of the site anymore.

Also, before I forget...

I am now requiring that for you to get into BKO, you must have made yourself a newbie thread where you mentioned your age. Even if you say you're older than 13 (and it's believeable) but you don't make a newbie post, I won't let you in. Sorry!

Good rules, Erynn. But what about those who don't like to reveal much about themselves (those who have parents that don't let them reveal info about themselves on the net, paranoid people, etc.)? A PM towards you? Just wondering...

If they have parents like that, I would think it would be much better to not let them in at all, even if they meet all the other criteria...

Given a certain event, I do understand.

Excellent, I must say I agree wholeheartedly, especially with the having to have made a newbie thread rule!

Does this mean I can't get in? I never made a newbie thread.

If you're already in BKO, none of the new rules apply to you.

I must say, this is a good step in solving yet another common problem among all forums. It just goes to show you that once something gets big, it gets hard to control...even if you had 50 really good mods (but that wont apply for a while yet).
