Astrology...maybe it's not bull or useless crud after all

A friend of mine just IMed me and we got to talking. She was talking about what her horoscope thingy said would happen today. I told her it was all bull and fake but apparently some of it did happen. So being the way I am I went online, to encarta and every other dictionary sight I could think of, and looked it up. After I knew about the basic subject I went a little deeper and looked up aquarious, my signthingy, and found something strange. Apparently all the stuff I am good at and like to do are listed as being things that aquariouses are good at. Naturally I was freaked out by this and ran three more searches and they all came up the same. Now either they have my computer hacked or there might be something to this astrology c***. I don't know someone please tell me I have not lost all sense!

Just because you have something in common with what it says for a certain sign, it doesn't mean anything.

It's really nothing but for entertainment value.

The science of astronomy and the occult art of astrology serve the same purpose, to know the future by the movement of the stars. Astronomy has given us time measure, calendars and longitude. Astrology is forbidden to me, and I don't mind that. I need no stars to know myself nor to "know" my fate. I will be thankful to see my fate as it unfolds, thank you very much.

Hmm... my take on astrology?

I'm not entirely sceptical, but I'm not really a disbeliever either. While I'm not convinved of its accuracy, I do find it interesting....

But in my opinion, horoscopes and astrology are two different things; you can actually get your star-chart mapped and read by someone who knows about it and it's really pretty cool. Horoscopes, on the other hand, are vague and usually made-up completely... they only seem to apply to you because the personalities and events they describe are broad enough that by chance they'll hit more times than miss. Especially for people who want to believe in it.

I dont believe horoscopes personally...their just like fortune cookies.

What I DO believe though, is that what the zodiac signs say for what each symbol's characteristics are like. Like how Leo's tend act...similar to me.

I've never really payed much attention to horoscopes and the like, not just because of my Christian leanings but also because I think they are a load of bull.

One time though the newspaper's horoscope for me predicted academic sucess, and a few days latr I was accepted into university.

Another time it predicted sorting out my finanial problems shortly before my Student Loan was confirmed.

Against that though they hav many times predicted 'romance for you this week' and I ain't got none yet! SHAME

I just think you start looking for connections after a while.

horoscopes = bull crap. oh yeah, i'm gonna listen to some made up story about my "future" becuse "the stars" know all, or w/e. but i do think there is something to zodic signs (kinda-- idk about that compatibility stuff) because the personality profile they had for sagittarius..es.. (sagittarii?) described me almost exactly. and the ones for my friends did too. i don't think it's about constellations or w/e.. it's more like people born within a certain time frame tend to have similar personalites.

I believe that is very true... but its strange that how time frames would cause similar personality in people
