I know what you mean about it being a real Lyoko.. it's just.. Lyoko is sort of a video game, if you take out the whole "world being in danger" thing.

I think we should try and make it just straight up Lyoko at first, and then maybe add the game features in after we decide what to do with it.

To access it, you need a IRC program such as Trillian, mIRC, Miranda, or Gaim, or you can access it from your web browser at http://www.dynastynet.net/chat.php.

Server: irc.dynastynet.net
Channel: #projectXanadu (or if you are using your browser, omit the #)

Still wondering exactly what it is we're trying to create. Are you going for a interactive slide show type deal, or something similar to a normal MMO or a game like Spiderman 2 where you basically just roam around (save for a few tasks and quests and stuff like that)? Also most of my programming knowledge doesn't include GUIs or graphics and most of my knowledge concerning VB and VC++ is very basic aswell. The way you make this project sound, it seems like it would need some 3d animation developement kits like DirectX SDK, which I'm not familiar with. I guess we can iron out the details during the brainstorming, but if you're planning what I think you're planning, it might be a little too much for a forum to do on their off time.

Great! Join the IRC chat (if you don't have it, search the web for mIRC. Or, if you have Trillian, like me, you can just set up a new connection..)

Not sure with mIRC, I haven't used it in forever.

Google Trillian and download it.

To set up a new connection go to Trillian -> Trillian preferences
Set up a new IRC connection go to Identities and Connections
Click Add New connection, then IRC connection
Server alias can be anything
The second box (server): but in irc.dynastynet.net
Third box (nickname): Name you want to use in the room
Leave the other 2 blank

Now on trillian's main window, click the light blue button on the top or bottom (IRC), Click join a channel, and type in #projectXanadu.

For mIRC, I'm working on it.

Okay, here's what you do:

http://www.mirc.com/get.html << go there and click the server nearest you.

Download the program.. Go through the installation process.. (next, yes, etc) and then launch mIRC.

Once it's open, wait till the continue button appears and then click it. Fill in your username etc in the "Connect" tab. Click "Servers" on the left, and scroll through the list until you see Dynastynet. Connect to the server. Once you've done that and the little window pops up, put in #projectXanadu for the channel.

And there you have it! ((hopefully..))
