Guess the intro tower color!

Postby bduddy » Tue Nov 22, 2005 1:21 am

(Mods: Personally, I think this belongs here more than in Games, but you're the mods, of course...)

Anyway, I know we're always trying to predict future episodes, so here's something simple: predict the color of the tower in the intro, which, of course, indicates partially what will happen in the episode. There was a clip (somewhere...) that showed a green tower in Episode 51, but 52 and the other one (so out of the loop...) are unsure. What do you think? Red? Blue? Green? Something else?
I like short signatures. Do you?

Exception to the rule. In Tip-Top Shape, the tower was green. It was the same episode where Jeremie first activated a tower.

Another exeption is Marabounta, where XANA didn't activate a tower. It was blue that time.

Of the four episodes left, I'm willing to bet on the following tower colors for each:

"Temptation": Red

"Contact": Blue (possibly green, but not likely)

"Revelation": Green (since even though XANA activated a tower in "TipTop Shape", it still showed up green).

"The Key": Green (if not, then red, but my bet is on green).

I'm confused with the colours thing, someone please explain that to me, except that one of them means Jeremie activated it (Wtf? Which episode explains that colour things for towers?) . If maybe there could be more than one colour... or colour switching...

Blue is a deactivated tower. It means that in an episode with this kind of tower in its intro, that there are no towers of any kind activated in the episode. This does not mean, however, that there is no XANA activity (i.e "Missing Link").

Red is a XANA-activated tower. It means that XANA will activate a tower within this episode and launch some form of attack.

Green is a Jeremie-activated tower. It means, I guess, that Jeremie will activate a tower within the episode (the towers he activates gain a green aura). This does not necessarily mean that XANA will or will not activate a tower as well, nor does it mean that there will be no XANA activity of any kind (i.e. "Tip Top Shape" ).

When a tower is blue, that means it is neutral and has not been activated for any purpose. When a tower is green, Jeremie activated it. If a tower is red, Xana has activated. In most of the episodes, the tower at the beginning when the title was being typed out was red, except for two episodes. In Marabounta, Xana did not attack. The actual danger was caused when Jeremie created the Marabounta which reeked havoc on Lyoko. The tower for that episode was blue. The 2nd episode was in Tip-Top Shape where the tower was colored green, since it was the same episode where Jeremie activated his own tower.

As for my guesses, I'd go with:

Temptation - Red
Contact - Blue
Revelation - Green
The Key - Green

EDIT: Okay, now Mewberries post has perplexed me. In "Missing Link", there was a blue tower in which Mewberries has inferred that the blue tower means that no tower was activated. This is also demonstrated in the episode "A Fine Mess". Yet in "Uncharted Territory" and "Exploration", 2 early episodes where Xana did not activate a tower to attack, the tower is red. I guess this was an idea thought up, after the first few episodes were produced.

Thanks, guys!! Btw, do you remember False Start? When a Megatank almost destroys a tower when Aelita tried to materialze herself with the Code Earth thing, that monster got some hits on the tower... I wonder how many LP can a tower have.

I think if they started making infected towers glow green all the time it would be kind of cool... There's this great Japanese film (not anime, live action) called "Infection" that they could vaguely base the theme off of. ;)

That said... it would be rather irritating for them to inexplicably switch the blue/red color theme do a different one. Meh.

I could have sworn that both of those towers were blue. In fact, I'm almost 100% sure that the tower in the intro for "Unchartered Territory" is blue, since that's when I remember first noticing it. I'm going to double-check. I'm almost positive that they've been consistent with the towers.

And you're most welcome, Rodri! ^_^

Well, you're right about "Unchartered Territory" being blue. But "Exploration" is red. I have all the episodes on tape and went back and checked them all. The one in "Unchartered Territory" must of slipped my mind for some reason. Oh well.

As for towers having life points, I'm thinking the act more like buildings than normal creatures with life points. The mega tank was able to do damage to the tower because the force of its blast was so great, not because it took a lot of life pts. But if you watch episodes such as "New Order", a tarantula fired about 15 blasts into the tower that Odd was circling. If the tower was life point based, the tarantula's laser just gave the tower 300 pts of damage, no problem, compared to False Start, where 2 megatank blasts, or 100 dmg, was close to making it collapse. Think kinda the difference between taking a normal ball peen hammer and wacking at the side of brick wall a hundred times compared to one wack with a wrecking ball.
