Midwest weather -_-

Postby Trillinka » Tue Nov 29, 2005 9:37 am

Any of you who live in the midwest probably understand where I"m coming from on this.... for two or three months, it's so hot that it's nearly intolerable... then for 3 or 4 more.. it's too bloody cold! Show of hands... who hates winter purely because it's far too cold? *raises both her hands*

Let's see here...*all said while raising hand* I was in Wisconsin over Thanksgiving, where there was 3 inches of snow and it never got above freezing. Then I come home and it's 65 degrees in Kansas City, then 35 and flurries the next day. Today is no better, either, because the wind picked up. Yes, I hate Midwest weather, too. At least the winters aren't as harsh as Wisconsin's.

I like the cold weather. Especially here in NYC. Funny, my friends went to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving.

I feel the same way. But it sucks because where I live, all we get is the cold... none of the snow! That's not a very fair deal at all!

I'm a Summer person though. =) One of my best friends thinks that's because I was born in the Winter, and subconsciously I got sick of Winter because I've celebrated my birthday every year in it. She thinks it's the same for herself, only backwards... She loves Winter but was born in the Summer.
Don't bother sending me messages or anything, I'm not in charge of the site anymore.

But I do love dancing.

Here in Iowa, it was warm on Sunday and Monday morning (warm meaning above 32 :P ) then started snowing and is around 22 degrees F today! I have classes all over campus, too -_- PLUS, more snow is predicted. I was born in the summer and definitely can't stand all of this cold. Someone come rescue me!!!

I'd come save you, dear, but I'm afraid Ohio isn't much better. I detest living in a state that hits upper 90's in the summer and below 0 in the winter. Yesterday and the day before it was in the 50s and 60s, and by Friday it is supposed to plummet back down again...

O-ohio?? RH, I couldn't let you save me, I'm afraid.... my ex-fiancee lives in Ohio, you see. I'd be too tempted to go see him and I know that would be very bad for me :P

So... I was walking back from a holiday party... definitely felt like my thighs and fingers were frozen... and my pants were slightly damp so they stiffened up, too! lol

I don't like the cold, but I withstand it. The heat is good until it's too much. But it all means money either way for me, whether grass is growin or snow is fallin, so I'm cool.

It's not his fault to live there. We don't choose where to live unless we have cash...

hehe. I can sympathize. I live up here in Northeastern Ohio myself (Warren, Ohio to be exact. last i measured, we are about 50 miles due east of downtown cleveland. Any Indians fans? Hollah!). just had some nasty weather over the weekend with temps in the teens, wind chill below 0, and a good mess of snowfall. between of yesterday and today it was up in the 60's with rain. weather can never make up its mind around here.

I'm not saying it's his fault that he lives there, it's just people keep shocking me :P Old cities keep cropping up and such!

How much snow did you get, Vchat?

I cant remember exactly how much we got, but it was enough to make the roads pretty slick (car kept sliding coming home from my Aunt's on turkey day. just glad its FWD. RWD wouldn't last a minute in this nasty crap.)

Thankfully I won't have to drive home from college until the 16th... Icy sidewalks are enough for me right now! Speaking of icy sidewalks, what's the most embarrasing snow stories you have? Or infuriating, those are good, too!

Most embarassing snow story? Well, I got pretty embarassed once when I was with a bunch of my friends, and I stepped out of my school entrance and onto a patch of ice (the clear kind you can't really see), and I slipped and fell, and then got laughed at by everybody. That was a rather lame story, but it's all I can think of.

middle of last winter. coming home from school. forgot my key. was locked out of my house for almost 5 hours in 30-something weather with nothing more than a sweatshirt and light jacket on. when my mom finally came home, my toes were literally frozen. i was standing on top of the heater vent barefoot for nearly half an hour.

now I constantly have my keys in my pants pocket.
