he may be stupid, but thats why he's great! he has some of the funniest quotes ever, such as:

"Wow! Brazil is big."
"I think war is a dangerous place."
"They misunderestimated me."
"We look forward to hearing your vision, so we can more better do our job."
"You forgot Poland."

ah, all halarious, he even has a wikipedia article, and a poem about his "verbal miscues."

200th Post!

Heres a link to a short game: Give Bush A Brain Game

I have to admit, Bush is stupid. WMDs in Iraq? He spends ages telling the UN and the world that Iraq has WMDs, goes to war, finds no WMDs, and stays in Iraq. Because of this, looks what has happened. The Madrid bombings. The London Bombings. Kidnappings in Iraq etc.

Up the Democrats!

Not only that, (from what I can tell from the UK) his policies are outdated. But we know whose to blame…your Mommies and Daddies…who voted Republican!

The internet is one place I cannot stand as far as Bush, because they were prejudiced against him from the beginning and at so many forums they all but accuse Bush of seeking out to personally destroy their lives. And the bombings, how are THOSE necessarily because of Bush? The terror attacks started Bush going after them, NOT the other way around- does your memory go back 4 years? I'm rather sick of all the anti-Bushism that goes around, I guess it's true as I learned in my worldviews class- many younger people are left-wing until they have more info about what it stands for and a good deal go conservative after that. At least this isn't SSMB- they think Bush has total control and is wrecking everything.

you mean, "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."?

anyway, as i live in the UK, i dont care much about his policies in america, but as for his foreign policy... well the suicide bombs just seem to keep coming, no matter how long troops stay in iraq... and we all know saddam hussein wont get a fair trial, several of his laywers have already been killed, after all if saddam was proven innocent it wouldnt really support Bush's war now, would it?

Just did. I had no idea I left the guest posting open. o__o

Anyway, back on topic, I am not a Bush supporter myself, but I'm not going to go into why right now. I am going to say, however, that if "political debates" morph into "political catfights" this thread is going to be locked. ^^

Remember guys... The important thing here is that we are intelligent and respectful of one another, even if we disagree about some things.

the point of this was so people aqfected by bushs bad disions could rant about it, so if this does turn into a catfight, lock away!

I read something the other day that said after the last presidential election, with choices like Kerry and Bush, a lot of people in both parties began to rethink their political affiliations.

It was just some random claim in another forum, and this guy had no articles or statistics to back it up, but he said that the more moderate members of the red and blue parties are beginning to look seriously at some third party options. Of those third parties, Libertarian seemed to be the most popular choice.

Given the responses to his post in the forum, I'd say he's on to something. I saw responses from people on both ends of the spectrum complaining that their former parties had gone extreme and moved away from what they once stood for, and that they no longer felt they could associate with them. Most of those people said they switched to the Libertarian party.

I've always been registered in a third party, so I couldn't add to the thread, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

Please don't spam with random stuff, Erika. I deleted your post.

I thought it was rather amusing after the New Orleans drama when several of the most conservative people in my class were saying things like, "Well, I guess he could have acted faster...."

Gotta love these Tennessee people. xD

Umm, you mean, overlooking the fact that we have absolutely no clue what he's doing over there? He just says, "We're at war." He doesn't plan ahead, and even if he does, he doesn't share just what the hell he's up to like he should.

It really pisses me off. I don't like where this country is going and I don't like the fact that the rest of the world is either laughing at us or in pain because of us.

And Max Gene, I don't think it's fair AT ALL to say that those of us who disagree with the man are all young and impressionable. If anything, I'd say it's the other way around.

Re: Max Gene and Dreamscape's response (I don't know how to quote yet, I'll learn, I promise!) [ETA: dur, I figured it out. I have to click quote instead of clicking on new reply. I'll do that next time! :)]

Winston Churchill supposedly said, "a young person who is not a liberal has no heart, and an old person who is not conservative has no brain."

that is not a direct quote, as I have never found a reliable source with the quotation and what I have found gives me varying choices in wording. My original source for this quote is my father.

The point of the quote is that the generations tend to disagree because of their point of view and the life events that have shaped the way they see the world.

During the Vietnam War, my father was ready to go to Canada to avoid being drafted. Today, he seems to support this country's efforts in Iraq, even at the cost of over 2,000 lives. This is somewhat ironic because I have seen many articles point out parallels between Vietnam and Iraq.

I'd imagine it has something to do with young peoples' idealistic outlook on life. Using myself as an example, I, personally, like to think that there is an alternative to war and that if we just tried, we could find a peaceful resolution to this whole thing. I do not have answers, and am nowhere near an inkling of a solution to this problem, but I like to think that if enough brains come together to ponder the situation, we might find one.

But then, maybe one day, if I've started a family and have kids to think about, and their future to worry for, I might be able to justify war as a way of securing a world where they and their children can exist. Right now, I have only myself to worry about, and my friends, who could conceivably be sent to Iraq, and it's not worth that much to me, right now.

Dreamscape is right, we're not all young and impressionable; however, I wouldn't say it's the other way around, either. We make judgements and decisions based on the knowledge we possess and on our opinions, however limited the information we base them on may be.

As we grow, we will learn more, and if our opinions change, then so be it. If they don't, that's good, too. They're still our opinions, and that makes them valid no matter what.

Yeah.. we're technically a "neutral" household, but I still don't like Republicans. Especially hicks from Texas who are too busy golfing to notice the hurricane in Louisiana.

Er, um.. anyways... yeah, I think everybody around here was all ZOMG BUSH BUSH BUSHHHHHH at the last election (you'd pretty much get ran over by one of their midwestern tractors if you said anything democrat-related)

Except now they're all ".....um.... did we say Bush? We meant Kerry!! *sweatdrop*"

From TL's link to that Bush game... he's so stupid enough not to accept a brand new green brain... j/k.

George Bush wrote:Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible desease.

Try the Emogame 2.5, it's really funny. If I were from USA, I would have voted for Kerry in that moment.

It's not only him planning his stuff. It's the Congress and many other authorities, which are just as same or even worse than him. I love Michael Moore's stuff. They rock and they're funny as hell.

Wanna trade spots? You'll like USA more than LatinAmerica, even if it's with Bush as president.
