How do you know he doesn't plan for the war? Not letting you know what's going on is smart, actually- if you watch TV long enough you'll find out how to make attacks on America and do other stuff. I'm certain 9/11 occured because a terrorist saw something on our own networks that gave him an idea- you think we're gonna broadcast our tactics straight to them?

You know what's weird?
I actually got to meet him when I was born.
My grandfather was the D. O. FEMA then his father was in office, and they both came over, and since I was his first granddaughter, I got special treatment, but they thought it was a trick so the hospital hung up on the president.

True. BTW, check out the spelling, 4lpha0mega. If we all spell correctly, then maybe we couldn't be comparable to Bush.

Lyoko_Aelita, I'm sorry if we offended you with our remarks. Keep in mind, though, that we who dislike the current administration do so because we disagree with the decisions being made. therefore, to an extent, we reserve a certain amount of skepticism about the brain capacity of our country's leader.

It's something we all do when we see someone do something that we think is completely idiotic and inane. Joe Bloe went over Niagra Falls in a barrel and wonders why he's in the hospital for injuries sustained on impact. You and I think to ourselves, "where was his brain? Didn't he know he's get hurt?" and the same goes for Bush Jr and the country. We mild-mannered denizens of the USA often see the things he says or does and wonder where the heck his brain is. In support of our wondering is the fact that, to my knowledge, there hasn't been another president in our nation's history with as many speech errors as Bush Jr.It's not that we're serious in thinking he's an idiot (at least I'm not), but it helps to release frustration with current events.

This is not to say that all other presidents were without fault. Ford fell down the stairs a lot. Reagan had early alzheimer's. Bush Sr. started a war he couldn't finish. Clinton made a mistake with his marriage (and yet, managed to give us the largest surplus we've had in years, the lowest unemployment rates in years, and was able to bond with the younger generations in a way we haven't seen since JFK).

I feel I reserve the right to complain about Bush Jr's actions in office because I voted in the election that got him there. In my mind, if I tried to do something to stop him from getting in for a second term (and I did), I have every right to complain and rant.

As for making fun of him...it comes with my disapproval of his methods of running the country. He just leaves himself open for it. Until someone runs a story about a speech impedement or sporadic brain malfunctions, or whatever can explain his severe shortcomings when using the English Language, I think the whole situation begs to be made fun of. If the laughing really bothered him, and his slip-ups were as a result of something that would afford him a break in the ridicule, he'd come forward with a cover story that would bring the nation to tears.

Can you imagine? PRESIDENT OVERCAME DYSLEXIA. His approval ratings would skyrocket overnight just because people feel sorry for him or believe that his trial and suffering makes everything else ok.

I, for one, believe that his errors in speech can be attributed to one of two things: (1) he's nervous. and I'd believe it if he said it. (2) he really is a mindless puppet, chosen because he is his father's son, being run by the people in the shadows to carry out their evil agendas for this country and world domination.

I figure the answer is somewhere towards the first one.

Trade places with him and try and keep your calm after you realize just how much he has to do.

The terror attacks started Bush going after them, NOT the other way around

The main problem is that few people care about why the WTC masacre occured.

The problem didn't begin there....that incident was a consequence for the USA's constant meddling in international affairs for a sole reason, it's personnal gain.

Bush is an idiot, yes...what did you want, a smart president tha would fight congress, a president that would strive for the MORAL evolution of it's country...a president that would fight for your rights, the rights of the people?

Ask yourselves that question, taking the POV of the guys IN power...would you be willing to give the people power?

Heck nah...keep them ignorant, keep them controlled...

I guess it's true as I learned in my worldviews class- many younger people are left-wing until they have more info about what it stands for and a good deal go conservative after that.

my father, mother, brother...teachers, adult friends, mature friends are left winged...I'm left winged as well...

You don't change wing as you gain more information...you change wing as you become more ignorant, more convinced that what the media says is the truth....you change wing when you become comfortable with what the media says....you change wing when you stop questioning....

You seem to think food stamps are a good thing?

The rich will always wind up paying most of the taxes because we are taxed on a percentage basis. In fact to this day the top 1 percent of earners pay 80 percent of the taxes. Am I saying we should tax the hell out of the poor? No. I am saying a less percentage tax on everybody would be great. Since the rich make more money a precentage tax deduction would naturally mean more money goes back to them.

not really if you were to look at who pays taxes you will see that the majority of tax cuts benfit the top 1% so that they get to pay less. They should pay more than others because the tax system should go by a precent but because the top 1% give generously to campaigns they will get tax cuts as thank yous. That is just the way it is.

Oh heck no. Don't EVEN get me started on how great Bush is. Wow, I'm sorry but.... XD XD XD XD Okay had to laugh a bit. I believe that I'm probably one of the most conservative people on this board. I am soooo pro Bush it's not even funny. And if you wanted to engage in some debate, I would, but I would SO get banned afterwards.

Theres no reason debate should get anybody banned unless you are rude--we just need to present our arguments and the facts to support them.

Fine, I'll start:

I'm not a big fan of Bush coming from the libertarian standpoint, but I consider him the lesser of two evils. My main issue was understanding why cutting food stamps was a bad thing--these have been nothing but trouble for the country since they were created during Johnson's "great society" in the 60's and continue to lead to lack of initiative and decay in the inner cities.

Everyone is so con war. I don't understand this. Most NOT ALL but MOST of the soldiers there were excited about going to war. They WANTED to. Now, there were probably some who were forced... but most want to be there. Or at least enlisted [volunteered] Anyway, there will NEVER be world peace. So, the best idea is to have troops in places where America isn't exactly favored and try to stop things from happening as much as possible. There will ALWAYS be some country holding a grudge against us, as long as Pandora's Box was opened, there will always be a bad egg who has the power to trun the world against America. Which most likely will never happen. And besides, Bush is going to be President right now and there really isn't anything that you can do to change that. Although, I would have liked to watch Kerry become President and then fall flat on his face as soon as another country committed another terrorist attack on us. That would have been quite amusing. I mean, President Bush had that whole terrorist attack thing to handle, and the country is still running rather smoothly right? He handled that well, considering. He will be able to do it again. THIS is why there haven't been too many other intense terrorist attacks committed in America.

Paige - just a point that not everyone here is American - the actions from your last post which might seem justified to you can seem to some of us outsiders as less like foreign policy and more like policing the world.

Just a thought.

PS. Nice to see you back Paige and congratulations on passing the 1000 post mark.

With that, I am going to stop voicing my opinions, I don't want the world to be against me. I don't really think everything that I do or say out first, and that is not really very good, but that's how I am. So with mattters such as politics, which is very important to me, I am going to back down and just leave with saying....

BUSH ROCKS!
