but it also matters where its hosted. if its hosted at a place like phpbbforfree, you can pretty much say sionara (sp?) to any chance of having database backups or being able to move the forum to another host if later needed. with a self hosted forum, this is all possible.

I should also add that ive got physical access to my own server (if you must know, it is sitting in my own bedroom. cant get better access than that 
) so if for whatever reason down the road that something happens to the project site, it should take very little time or resources to get things back in running order.

BTW Jean, the logger is done. I tried making it read symbols but it just won't work. It runs totally invisibly except for proccess list. Also, it makes the log file in the working directory\log (the file is named log and does not have an extension. Just open it up in notepad.)

You know, I think we should just use Halospree's forum, it seems better because of the lack of ads and sophisticality of the PHP programming. let's just use his from now on.

yes. phpbbforfree has ben down for quite a while now. the new and (i guess) permanent forums is halospree's over here
