I don't think they recharge at all. If they did, there'd probably be less full on-slaught and blocking and more hit-and-run dodging type stuff (like, Yumi lost 10 life points, better go hide behind a glacier and recharge)

On Lyoko, the kids have life points, and Jeremie is always screaming at them about how many they have left. Well, what I saw tonight on one of the reruns got me thinking. Odd and Yumi ran out of life points pretty fast against some crabs. In other episodes, I've seen one of them run out and leave the scanner room to hang out with Jeremie. Why can't they just get back into the scanner and fight some more? Do they only get a certain number of points per day? I mean, couldn't they access Lyoko an infinite number of times, even within a limited amount of time, and start with a full set of life points each time upon re-entry?
It just bothered me that Yumi and Odd both ran out so soon and then Aelita was left to face the crab alone. Then I wondered what would happen if Aelita ran out of points. How many does she have? How does she replenish her points?
I realise that the answers may not be concrete, so if there isn't a straight answer, I'm interested in your theories.
This might be the first time I've actively discussed CL on the boards since I joined. I'm shy; forgive me? :]
Vchat20 wrote:you would probably want to dig through the "Lets talk tech" thread for a more in depth explanation. but the general consensus seems to be that while on Lyoko, their physical bodies do take stress from what happens on Lyoko and the life points are just a cautionary measure to make sure they dont go overboard and really cause harm to themselves.
animenologist wrote:Well to answer your questions, in the "Let's talk tech" thread, we currently have 2 theories about that. Our first was briefly summarized by Vchat.
Our second theory is that as a form of defense against intruders, possibly setup by Hopper in case anyone was ever to find his project, their avater was forcefully decompiled, which is visually shown by their avatars basically fragmenting. After decompiling, Jeremie would need to recompile their avatars again before they can enter. Basically, the same principles as the vehicles. They get destroyed, it takes time to recreate them. Same idea, except their avatars are much more complicated and thus take much more time. Of course this is all theory, and we can't give you a complete canon answer.
As for Aelita, in Season 1 and 2, devirtualization means death to her, thanks to that missing fragment revealed in The Key. In Season 1, she is able to replenish life points by resting in a tower, as shown in The Girl of the Dreams. In Season 2, she probably virtualizes full of life points during the virtualization process.
Sorry I can't give you something official.

Osiris wrote:life points taken away by the monsters can be foung at the wikipedia areticle they are:
Bloks/Blocks
right Eye is a laser, the left Eye fires a freeze ray, and the rear Eye shoots pulses of fire-rings.The laser and fire rings each do 30 points of damage per hit
Frôlions/Hornets
If the leader is of the group is destroyed (fifty life points), its two mates are destroyed, too (twenty life points). This has never actually happened as of yet.The laser of a Hornet does 20 damage to a hero
Kankrelats/Roachsters
10 damage per hit
Krabes/Crabs
The Crabs have three separate weapons. Its main weapons are two tri-lasers, placed on top of one another on the front of its shell. The upper deals 40 damage while the lower (on their underbelly and more difficult to aim) levels with an incredible 80 points of damage
Megatanks
Megatanks are equipped with a massive elliptical laser. The laser is fired from the support ring inside its casing. This laser has the shortest range of any weapon, but it fires as a pulse to make up for the hinderance. It is also the only weapon capable of altering the landscape of Lyoko other than Ulrich's sword. The laser did only 50 points of damage per hit at first. After the episode Code: Earth it started to do 100 damage per hit.
Creepers
Creepers are equipped with an exceptionally powerful laser is within its flap-like "mouth," which in turn makes up most of its "head." The laser does 40 points of damage per hit.
(Flying) Mantas
Mantas have two weapons at their disposal. The first is a somewhat-powerful laser on their mouth. They also have the ability to lay floating mines.
