Let's see which is you favourite IM service thing. Mine's Msn Messenger, no doubt about it. AIM's a piece of crap and I don't use Yahoo that much, given that my messed up pc freezes... :S

AIM, definitely. It has a simple, obvious presence thing (no accepting other users, blocking, etc) and plenty of great clients.

You didn't add ICQ! ;)

Probably MSN, actually. It gives the most control over who can contact you and who can't.

I have more buddies on Yahoo and AIM, though. But, that's kinda why I avoid those ones. Heh.

I have Trillian, so I can get to the three listed, ICQ, one or more IRC chat rooms... and Jabber, I think.

I maintain accounts on all four services, although I only have two ICQ contacts, and one's Erynn.

I can say the same way goes for me. Besides, moe than 97-98% of peruvians use Msn Messenger, and some use Yahoo IM (mostly, because of email capacity, along with having Gmail)... and I don't think more than 2% of Peru's population uses AIM. Maybe I can be mistaken, but when you usually meet a person, most likely he/she would end up having Hotmail or Yahoo email, or Gmail or a email from a institution, university, job, etc.

That's pretty much my setup too. I think I have about 5-6 ICQ contacts though. And I don't use IRC. Jabber I messed with a little bit but it sorta confused me. :P

Trillian totally rocks though. *nod nod*

"More" is redundant. There's only one level of better.

MSN does seem to be the prevailing service these days, along with AIM... I heard somewhere that Microsoft was in talks with AOL to take over AIM. At least, I think I did...

That would be weird... But I think if MSN and AOL joined up, it wouldn't change either program very much. They might add more features, but they'd never merge into one thing. Not with as many users as both of them have.

I use aim, mainly because the majority of my school friends have that and for role-playing purposes. I also use msn though..but I'm not usually on unless I am asked or have some other motivation.

It's quite local. Everyone here, for example, uses AIM, but in, um, Peru?
