You never know. It would all depend on whether Xana's capabilities were his(hers, its), or something he had through manipulating the resources of the supercomputer. If it's the latter, he may still need a connection to Lyoko to perform anything, and therefore be limited by the towers. Wouldn't that be ironic? All that effort to escape Lyoko and Xana ends up becoming a harmless black cloud.

I think XANA's going to need a body to do much of anything....and he could do that from the supercomputer. Considering that to materialize monsters, he needed to create them on Lyoko and then materialize them (the exact opposite of the gang). I just figure, whatever happens, Team Lyoko's going to need backup. Thirty-ot six ought to do it.

That actually doesn't surprise me, as a lot of the Code: LYOKO places and objects were based or inspired on real world objects. Mostly the factory at that to. Still, good research. I was wanting to see the 3-D part. 
EDIT: The reason I say most places on the show are based on real live things (well, you know the reason) is because of the topic about the factory and academy.
