RE: TB3

hehe. my mom's van "used to be" a real posessed son of a b when it came to the electrical system. first time around it had this little issue with the door ajar light, dome light, and chimes where it would constantly register a door as being open despite all our attempts to rectify this. as well, the dome light and dinger would constantly go off UNTIL you got it up to 15mph at which point the dome light would go out and chime would go out. bring it back down to 10mph and the chime would come back on, but no light. light would continue to stay out until the vehicle was restarted.

one of the more recent troubles has been related to the battery where leaving it sit for no more than a day or two would cause it to drain the battery to the point of no more than the starter "clicking". usually a jump would cure this, but at one point it even refused to do anything. but that seemed to cure itself up just fine for whatever reason, but we still had the battery drain problems.

in any case, the final "end all" fix was a combined short in the dome light and a faulty door ajar mechanism in the drivers door. fixed both and everything is cured. even the battery issue.

91 Red Volkswagen Polo with 62,000 miles - perfect student car - aside from the multiple breakdowns;

1. The head-gasket has had to be replaced, twice (first time round the garage did a bad job so their replacement part died on me after a year)
2. The distributor failed in damp weather, on the way to work!
3. The driver's side-door seals broke.
4. The parcel shelf vanished.
5. The battery has died on me a few times.

And aside from that - I love my little car. Cheap to run, fuel efficient (40mpg), and she'll cheerfully go banging down the motorway at 90mph.

Back on track (and sorry for the deviation!) - how many people here actually believe Friday 13th is an unlucky date;

Thirteen is an ancient unlucky number (13 people at the last supper, including the traitor Judas).

Friday's association with bad events stems from the crucifixtion of Christ on Good Friday, and a legend that Adam and Eve commited the first sin on a Friday - one other superstition about the date for sailors is that it's bad luck for a ship to sail on Friday. To disprove this a shipping company one Friday began building a ship named 'The Friday', which was set to sail its maiden voyage on a Friday, and they chose a 'Captain Friday' as her master.

The ship sank without trace.

Oh well that's no suspicious.

But when you have that many coinidences, something bad is bound o happen! It has to do with the wating something to hppen, the aniety, ad just all the jinxing!

For those who don't know, Jinxing is a form of trickery in which you put someone in a state of mind in which the pressure rises, and if pursued enough, causes them to bend to your will power. This art form I am a master of.

mk people-- stop being so freaking superstitious. Friday the 13th has no significance over any other date. So get over yourselves. (Well... my Spanish teacher-sub who was wayy better than our real teacher, who was out on maternity leave and everyone hated, left on Friday... but whatever. :P)

Step 1: Your car out of Wales and in LA.

Step 2: Good luck.

There is a 'Pimp my Ride' UK, but the car really has to be in awful shape, and mine despite being 15 years old constantly breezes through all the government safety, equipment and emissions tests!
