What did you have to do to fix it? The only error I saw was a duplicate entry error. (Which is wierd but should have timed out). Do you know what the error was?

For now, I've just gone into phpMyAdmin and deleted everything in the Sessions table. Vchat has pointed me towards a more permanent fix, however, and I'm working on that right now.

What do you mean "a more permenant fix"? That is is the first time I have seen that happen on this forum and I don't exactly see any reason why it might happen again.

I think that the phpbb_sessions table just had a little bug that allowed it to clog up. By cleaning it out it unclogged it which allowed people to log in.

Now lets hope this is done and over with. Nasty bug imo. Even I am fairly confused as to what causes the problem. But it does seem to be widespread as a search of the phpbb forums show.

yeah, but with all the clearing of the sessions table thats been going on, all these session ids are pretty much moot.

True, when the session table was wiped all the ssid's were erased and reassigned.

Maybe something like
would work? That would allow there to be more than one session with the same id, but if it's accidentally adding sessions twice, why not let that happen and avoid the error?
