XANA was created, along with Lyoko, to destroy Carthage, which was a military database I believe. So, yes, XANA has either gone sentient or Hopper effed up, which I don't believe is likely, considering his offspring, and XANA now thinks it must destroy the world to destroy Carthage. Franz had no idea that XANA would corrupt like that. XANA was built to stop project carthage, and just went schizo.

Careful what you say Demonkiller - you're talking in terms of fact and until the show proves or disproves it all of what you say is just theory.

However, I do like the concept of XANA as still following a corrupted version of his original mission brief.

Another point I would make is that XANA was based off the Multi-Agent-System Franz developed and which Jeremie later found was flawed in 'Marabounta.' I recently posted a large article on XANA in the thread LET'S TALK TECH, so you might want to have a look over there as well.
