Animated .gifs stuck?

Postby Jeremified » Wed Mar 08, 2006 8:41 pm

I'm not sure what's wrong with my computer. Some animated .gis (i.e. the smileys and a couple of avatars here) are working, while others that have been animated in the past (i.e. AngelBolt's, Darkborn's, and my own avatars) are stuck on the first frame. (The only reason I mentioned AngelBolt's and Darkborn's avatars is because theirs are the most noticeable to me.) Mine's supposed to spell out "CLASH OF THE GENIUSES!" and show Jeremie in the second half.
Also, I wasn't sure whether to put this in Technical Discussion or in Site Discussion, since this usually occurs on LF.
thank you all for the good memories <3

Tech Discussion is right.

Sometimes computers just don't show them right. Try deleting your cookies and running AdAware. Should fix it. It works for me. (Nice avvie by the way!)

Sure!

Sometime you are doing too many things atonce on your comp. Try closing a few windows.

GIF's move at a fast rate and your PC might not handle it well. If your music or something is lagging up just delete all cookies and see. If it still didnt work try to close out other windows like codeTONY mentioned.

It happened to me to ^_^

No, cause each window takes up more space and megabytes and all that. So...having only one or two windows would be good.

Use Firefox. It comes with tabs which allows you to have atleast 5 websites up in one window

Maybe I'll try terminating some applications with Task Manager. 8)

I already have Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta pre-release, and it has those same tabs. But other than that, I have one tab there plus three windows in the main toolbar.

I highly do not agree with that. Only do that if you know WHAT you are closing. Make sure everything that has SYSTEM by it IS NOT closed.

Lol, so sorry.
Whoops, I think I just closed off something important... now the status bar is blacked out, the address bar isn't doing anything, and the background to the main buttons is black. :nyeh!:

Yay, at least others can see it. Just as long as it's working...
By the way, yours is one of the only avatars I can view animated (as opposed to many others' avatars, which are stuck.)

I had a problem on my dad's computer with animations not being shown. I had to go into the firewall and tell it to allow animations to show. It was kinda weird...
not gonna bother coming back
