The new and " Better " Toonami

Postby Rory » Tue Mar 14, 2006 2:33 pm

Ok, this may not be as bad as other peoples problems here, but its a ranting area, and I can be a really whiney sunnuva *beep* when I want to be.
Anyway, who else dispises the new Toonami? I mean, ok lets start like this.
TOONAMI ( Lets focus on the word 'Toon' ) TOON, is short for CARTOON. Cartoons do NOT include THESE crappy shows:
Parker Lewis Can't Lose
Stencil
Backyard Science.
Ok, CL-S2 is on now, which is cool, but C'MON, They got rid of DBZ for these?! (THE BEST ANIME EVER!!! And don't argue, I don't want this thread to turn into an arguement of how good DBZ is, its my opinion.)
Anywho, am I the only person who is seriously P'd off??
Comments anyone?
(By the way, if anybodys confused about what I'm talkin' about, this is in England)

To be fair, Parker Lewis can't loose is a pretty god show in my opinion. ( it also gave way for the title of an awesome Fall Out Boy song!)

As for the rest of the shows, I do agree that they don't really have a place in Toonami.

How I missed the good times where DBZ and DragonBall filled the entire segment.

How I even more miss Tom I. (Tom II is a *rolls r's* Ripoff!)

Yes, I am disturbed/angered by the fact that Cartoon Network is replacing its old, good shows with new shows aimed at a younger audience. Nickelodeon is doing the same. If this continues, soon there will be almost no animes in America suitable for the average teenager.

Amen. They make me mad. When they were showing Pokemon4Ever they couldn't even get it right, they were like 'Oh and there's going to be lots of explosions and that guy there and...' etc. They should actually WATCH it before they show a suckish summary like that.

I see im not the only one then who hates this new toonami. But i boycotted it since they took away DBZ and DBGT(i was only starting to get into it!) Then i turn it on for the first time since long and i see them becoming nickelodeon. whats the world coming too? The Uk and Ireland need a GOOD anime channel!

Online petition anyone?

For the love of all that is holy what is happening to Toonami? When they took off 'Teen Titans' I was peeved.
In my mind Toonami should be made for us teen's/adult's *Yes I know they have adult swim but that just isn't cutting it* Toonami is on late at night so it seems like the right fit for me. But no they have to play cheap knock off cartoons! The world is turning dark on us anime fans.

Actually, where I live, on Digital Cable there is an Anime Channel. And there was Anime Channel on Demand. I don't know what all shows they would play on there, and I don't have that cable anymore; but I know that they did play some of those shows you mentioned. And that they were on the On Demand part.

I dispise One Piece, the voices are INCREDIBLY annoying. This is probably just the dubbing though, if I were to sit and watch the original Japanese version, I bet I'd get into it. Usopp and Sanji's voices make me turn it off mainly.

Oh man, they butcherd one piece. Seriously, its not like that at all. The real voice actors have great talent, the music is wonderfull and fitting (not rap music) and theres plently of gore, swearing and japenese culture running through it. If you get a chance you should check it out. lol i think ive already ranted bout this somewhere else
The transformes series seems to be one series that too got butchered by dubbing. and Dragonball.

But the Code Lyoko english version seems to be okay. Dont think theres much to cut out anyway.:)

It may be true that alot was cut out of DBZ for timid Americans and Europians, but I think the voice actors seriously more than make up for it.

Goodness me that must have been the worst show on Earth. I was really bored and decided to watch. I mainly laughed my butt off at the poor craft it was in. It got cancelled after the 2nd episode was aired. That made me laugh even harder.

I finally got a chance to watch season on Toonami. Good to watch it but what hacks me off...they removed the opening and closing credits...again! It outrages me that none of the VAs and crew get no credit! Makes y blood boil! And have you seen toonami's web page on CL?

WTF!? It’s so out of date, and they make it seem make S2 doesn't even exist!

Another thing that ticks me off, they keep on moving the showing times! People will never get a change to see it.

To tell you the truth, I don't think CL is popular or well known in the English speaking regions of the UK, (but it keeps better slots on the Welsh version) I've yet to meet another person who likes CL. If only I could get access to the viewing figures and I’ll know for sure.

Toonami need to update the web page, give the show and fixed airing times and finish showing season 2.

I've been having a grudge on the new Toonami since it started...for many, many reasons...

1) Umm, yeah! Some notice about CLS2 would have been nice!
2) The comedies are just NOT funny.
3) Thanks to Life with Derek and Hangin' With Mr Cooper (puh-lease.), CL doesn't play at 10pm anymore. What the fork am I going to watch at night now?
4) Instead, CL is on at the crack of dawn. >_>
5) Where the heck did Backyard Science come from? Land of the too-random-for-their-own-good facts?
6) The website is worse than ever.
7) A lot of good shows have been cut off...*sniffs at the 9pm timeslot which used to have Megas XLR*

*throws random pointy things at the studios*
