Which is why I suggested we just take what we can and apply it so it makes sense.... dear goddess does everyone just like ignore all of my posts?

Yes! :D

Anyway. I only know Basic French. I wouldn't know how to say "Franz Hopper is my daddy" at all. Oh wait.. "Mon Pere est Franz Hopper?" Yup I screwed it up.

(reads through)

YES! YE! HAHAHAHA!

I said Carthage was the location of all the Source Programming and I WAS RIGHT! WAHAHAHAHA!

Same with Aelita now being able to devirtualise - Franz fixed her avatar by restoring the memories - possibly also how she developed her new Attack - Franz had programmed her avatar with it in 1994, but the same damage that stripped her memories also disabled it! :)

I love being right.

And good work on the translation guys - nice job! :thumbs up:

Or rather, what was it supposed to be in English. I was playing around with alta Vista translator. You have to be careful how you word things if you want to get anything close to what you meant.

It's a shortened version of "Bien", which means, "Good" or "well". It's French slang.

The reasons why the Babelfish and all of those other online translators have so much trouble with creating "correct" sentences, is that they translate the words into the most common definition...which, since the French language (like ours) may have as much as three different meanings for the same word, is why you get weird translations.

Also, because Code Lyoko is a show about kids, they speak a "modern" French and not the "textbook" French that online translators tend to go by. They use French slang, which the translators get stuck on and leave untranslated.

For example, "Ouais" is simply a slang form of the French "Oui", for Yes. "Ouais" is the French version of "Yeah!" ;)

Erm...should I try to do a less "Frenglish" version of this transcript? If some of you really want it, I'll be happy to help. ^_^

But however probably the only French word for me that I know very easy what it means is Oui which what you said means Yes along with Ouias which means Yeah but the rest I don't know but yeah if you want, do a Frenglish version of this transcript.

Oh, we already have a "Frenglish" version...I was asking if anyone wanted me to try and do a more "grammatically" correct translation with slightly better English. ^^

Again, though, my French is terribly remedial...and I'll likely lose some things in translation. *sweatdrops*

Comex has worked for two days to subtitle the episode but its finally done. If you want a copy goto TL.

The translations are off but they're better than nothing. We need somebody that knows both the languages to do it.

I'd help... I'm like one of the biggest grammar nazis here xD; But unfortunately my computer time and access is limited... my French is pretty much nonexistant but I'd be glad to make the Frenglish sound like English. o__O;
