From what TB3 is saying, doesn't sound like it.

OK - I have the lowdown from Herman who's looked into this:

The Code: Lyoko album is NOT the soundtrack - it is original music Moonscoop has commissioned from French artists and released as a 'Subsonics Album'.

The interesting thing is that Herman and Serge were not consulted on this, which leaves me really shaking my fists at Nicholas, Benoit and Christophe in their ivory tower!

Eh, if Herman and Seerge aren't bothered, it ain't our place to complain...

*huggles LyokoCode* I wuv you... XD

LyokoCode's put up a medley of all of the songs that will be on this CD. *parties*

You can listen to and download it here.

As TB3 reported, it is indeed a "Subsonics" album. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that at least a couple of these songs will appear in season 4, particularly the first track, "Planet Net"...which absolutely sounds like the next theme song in both tune and title.

Ironically...the French fans are not particularly impressed with this CD, or at least so it appears. The most common complaint seems to be that they would have preferred a CD of the show's background music (which we all have been wanting), and this is a bit of a disappointment. Other complaints appear to be that the music is lame and/or childish. *sweatdrops*

However...having listened to it myself...I kind of like it. XD Then again, I'm self-titled as lame and childish, so that's not so bad a deal anyway. ;) The songs all do sound somewhat alike (I believe they're all in the same key, at the very least ^^), and I think they may owe Jamiroquai and Daft Punk for the inspiration somewhat. But...they just sound fun to me really...I hope this comes here...or that the French CD can play on US players. ^^

"Planet Net" sounds like a fun tune, and I really like "Technoide". I can't pick out the words in "Ensemble"...but it sounds somewhat romantic (or at least friendshippy at the least, XD ). "Sauver le Monde" is downright spiffy, IMO. I could picture a really spiffy battle scene to that tune...and that's only after hearing like 10 seconds of it. ^^

"S'Envoler" is apparently the vocal version of "Generique Fin"...which is fascinating because the melody is intriguing to say the least. I wish I had the full lyrics so I could figure out what they translate to. ^^

And as extra fun...we have good old "Un Monde Sans Danger". *giggles*

I'm not sure if I'll be the only one saying it but, I can't wait for this CD, and I hope there's someway I can get the full tracks. ^^

BREAK BREAK BREAK DANCE!!! :D

*highfives back* xDD I sure hope French CDs can work on our CD players/computers. I do know, though, Japanese ones do. Last time I was in Japan I bought a CD; it worked fine in my old school CD player and worked fine in my computer (although my school computers couldn't read it... haha!). :D So I don't think French should be a problem.... >>;

Okay - I can order this from Amazon France very easily so I'm getting it.

Listening to the mix, I am 50% happy and 50% angry.

Why Happy? The songs are good and fun.

Why Angry? As Mew pointed out that last track but one is Herman and Serge's music with words on it, and from my discussion with them, they have no idea that their work is being released like this.

Ah, good point...didn't you say though, that he'd signed a release on his music that gives MoonScoop permission to do that? I'm not saying I don't find it rather unfair...but I thought I remembered you saying that something like that was okay with him because of his contract.... ^^

Grrr we all agree that having a BGM OST would rock and there are certain members here who would put those tunes to good use if they are ever released.

I spent 35 minutes talking with Herman on the subject of their contract the other day - and although Moonscoop hold the rights, the contract REQUIRES Herman and Serge's involvement in any commercial use of their music.

Since they had no idea this CD existed until I told them, it seems to be in violation of their contract.

Aren't you a tattle-tale? :P

It's...nice. Though, it's not really sounding CLish to me. I agree with the French fans aswell. The lyrics are...so bad and good it's funny.

Then again USMD is the same. USMD has a good beat this whole track(excluding USMD) just reminds me of 98* for some strange wacked out reason.

EDIT: Other than that I love it! A lot of things like "To Save the world" sounds like their saying "Secret life" if you listen closely.
I can SO totally imagine these songs in a movie. And something tells me one or more of these songs are going to be in S4. Just a hunch! OH THE WAIT IS JUST SO....LONG!!!!!

;__; I'm being such a baby! I wish S4 would come sooner and save me the agony. (Who knew someone would get worked up on a show.)

Woah...now that is weird! And not good either. D:

You can hear and translate the lyrics? O.o

I can't really pick much of anything out enough to translate with the quality it's at...just out of curiousity, what are some of the lyrics you've been able to get out of it?

XD 98 Degrees? *snickers* I suppose, although it sounded more to me like what one would get if one crossed Noam with The Rasmus, Jamiroquai and a sprinkling of Daft Punk. ^^;

I got use to the bad quality. And I can understand it...slightly. I can't give you a translation So far I can't spell French as well. I'm still learning French at school and yet I don't know how I can survive talking to my only French speaking best-friend. O.o

So I guess I can't exactly understand it. The people who are singing are singing WAY too fast for me and I'm use to that...(Funny, France probably says the same about us.)

LyokoNet or one of the other French sites might already have clips of these...I'll look around for familiar titles. ^^

In the meantime though...who's so getting this when it comes out? *giggles* ^.^

Silly question: Why isn't "A World Without Danger" the first track?

Yeah, I wonder the same, and even Un Monde Sans Danger is considered a bonus track!?

And also, the song named, S'Envoyer (to fly away in French)...
Listen to it closely...minus the voices, does the music sound like a techno-souped up deviration of the original Subsonics song?

Maybe because it is? :*D

XD Well...probably not precisely the same...they start learning in English in elementary school, I believe, whereas most students taking French only start in Middle or Highschool. ^^;

Heh, anyway though, that's okay. Gah, I wish I could pick out the words though...must...hear...lyrics...must...sing-along. XD

Yo guys - well my copy of the CD came in today :)

I'm listening to the songs right now, quite nice.

What is most interesting is:

A: A picture inside the cover booklet showing the 'Subsonics/Subdigitals' drawn in CL's Artstyle - we finally know what they look like :)

B: The disc incorporates a technology called 'Opendisc' - basically the disc acts as the password to 'Club Lyoko' - an exclusive section of the official CL site with extra material.

All there is right now is some wallpapers and a Subsonics Music Video featuring animated footage of them playing 'Planet Net' spliced in with footage from CL Season Two.

However, the site seems to be promising Season 4 updates in late November and December, so I'll be sure to keep you guys updated :)

I'll also get some pics of the booklet up once I get access to a scanner.

LYRICS TO TRACK 1: 'PLANET NET'

IN FRENCH

Moi, ma planete est Net
Je viens pecher en ligne chaque jour
J'ai le coeur a la fete
Quand ma boite message me dit bonjour

demain

D'une simple connexion
S'affiche une page pleine promesses
Et nos interactions
Se delivrent aussi via SMS
Nous sommes devenus une patrie
Qui n'a pas besoin de drapeau
Nous sommes libres et unis
On change l'histoire a vol d'oiseaux
Mes amis mes cousins

En direct Live
On surfe sur les Vibes
D'un nouveau monde
En une seconde
L'univers a poree de nos mains
L'univers ensemble nous appartient
demain

D'une simple connexion

IN ENGLISH

(this is a very rough translation - Altavista and Systran had problems with some words so I had to fill in the blanks)

Me, my planet is Net
I come online to sin each day
I have a festival in my heart
When messages say hello to me
I make each day count, a turn of the world
Too cool pleasures fill each one
The world's not really round any more
I have buddies in each corner
My friends, my cousins

On-line live
Surfing on the Vibes
Of a new world
In one second the universe has poured into our hands
Tomorrow the universe belongs to us
Together

It's a simple connection
Post yourself a page full of promises
And our interactions are delivered via SMS
We become a fatherland which does not need a flag
We are free and plain
One changes the history like a flight of birds
My friends, my cousins

On-line live
Surfing on the Vibes
Of a new world
In one second the universe has poured into our hands
Tomorrow the universe belongs to us
Together

It's a simple connection
Post yourself a page full of promises
And our interactions are delivered via SMS
We become a fatherland which does not need a flag
We are free and plain
One changes the history like a flight of birds
My friends, my cousins

On-line live
Surfing on the Vibes
Of a new world
In one second the universe has poured into our hands
Tomorrow the universe belongs to us
Together

On-line live
Surfing on the Vibes
Of a new world
In one second the universe has poured into our hands
The universe already belongs to us
Together

Seriously, nice stuff, but the bit about 'fatherland' is kinda weird.
